I fostered kittens for 3 years and volunteered at the shelter for just over 7 years. When I tell people that I volunteered there, I often hear happy stories about a pet they've adopted from Baypath. The staff really care about the animals and make a huge effort to make sure that the adopter and adoptee are well-matched and the foster programs give the animals a chance to be observed (and cuddled) in a real home. They are a small but mighty organization that work hard for animal welfare.

I am currently fostering a litter of kittens for this shelter and I am always impressed by their efficiency, knowledge, and concern for the animals.

The staff is always reachable when I have questions, though my questions are few since they provided such good written documentation and directions when I first volunteered to foster. They use their web site and Facebook page to communicate, too.

I have also made donations in the past of animal supplies, blankets, and towels and they were always extremely receptive and thankful.

We adopted/rescued an English Bulldog mix in March of 2022 and Baypath went above & beyond when it was discovered he had an ACL tear in one of his hind legs. They paid for the associated Vet surgery that entailed willingly!

In 2011, my husband and I adopted a dog, and last year we adopted two cats. I cannot say enough about Baypath - the people that work there, especially Cornelia, Julie and Liz, are incredible. They are so caring, knowledgeable, passionate and committed to what they do! Kudos to everyone at Baypath for being able to handle the tough jobs they have so well!

A few weeks ago, we adopted a dog from Baypath Humane Society and he has been such a wonderful addition to our family! This was our first time adopting a dog and our experience at Baypath was excellent! Everyone there was very attentive, friendly and able to answer all of our questions to help us make the final decision to move forward with the adoption. All of the animals at the Baypath facility seemed well-cared for and happy. We would highly recommend Baypath Humane Society to anyone interested in adopting an animal!

We adopted our sweet black lab mix girl from Baypath over 2 years ago. The people there knew her well, including an issue she was having being overly reactive on leash. I felt as though they were upfront about both her wonderful traits (a loving personality, sweetness) and the things she needed to work on. They even followed up to see how she was doing and asked any advice we would have for adopters dealing with dogs being overly reactive, to see if we could help others.

Baypath has done so much in the community for animals in need. I have rescued several cats from this facility and they are knowledgeable, supportive, and devoted to the animals. Have had a great experience, and also have many friends who have had great experiences adopting here. So happy to have an organization like this caring for these animals and making great adoption matches.

I began my Baypath experience as a Volunteer several years ago. Since that time, have adopted several dogs, fostering additional dogs whenever our circumstances have permitted. My involvement and enthusiasm about Baypath's mission has inspired several friends and family members to adopt Baypath cats and dogs, which has been a joy.

A few years after I began as a Volunteer, I became a Board member. I have found this work engaging, meaningful, and a true labor of love. We Trustees work to support Baypath, bringing our assorted professional backgrounds and interests together. We work diligently to organize various fundraisers throughout the year, designed to appeal to supporters of all ages, and growing our outreach efforts, as we continue to spread the word about the positive impact Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton seeks to make in the community!

Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton has been a force in the region since its inception in May 1977, and our wonderful Staff love nothing more than helping cats and dogs in their moment of need, getting to know all of their traits, likes, dislikes; what makes them unique - and in turn finding a wonderfully well-matched home for therm. I feel so fortunate to be able to be affiliated with this truly special Shelter, and am proud indeed of our fantastic, hard-working Staff, whose genuine love and passion for animal rescue is evident in everything they do!!!

Over the past ten years, I have adopted two dogs from Baypath Humane. Both dogs were in great health and had been assessed very well by the staff. They were able to show me which dogs were good with children, house trained, etc and more recently, which would be likely to work well with my senior mother. They are also very accommodating. I asked to take my new dog home before he was neutered and return him a week later for his vet visit. Baypath worked with me on this to get my sweet guy out of the shelter environment.

From a business perspective, this business person is continually impressed with the fundraising efforts and strong community connection Baypath has forged over the past 10 years. When the have a compelling need for supplies or a dog with a compelling story that needs extra help to find the perfect home, the Baypath Facebook community consistently steps up to the plate.

I am very impressed by this organization and hope to continue adopting my dogs from them for many decades to come.

We are so happy with our experience with Baypath. We went on Mother's Day to look for a cat. They were so helpful, friendly and caring. They were very professional in their approach to adoptions. It is quite evident that everyone there loves animals and they are very invested in making sure that all their animals find good homes. I would recommend them to anyone! I would also like to thank them for taking such great care of our little Bianca before she found her "forever home" with us!

I had the good fortune to adopt both a cat and a dog from Baypath. Their love of animals and the care that they show for each that find their way to their shelter is beyond words. They always make sure that before you are entrusted to adopt from them that the animal is going to a safe environment where they will continue to receive the care that they need. I highly recommend Baypath to guide you to the perfect 4 legged friend.

The staff at Baypath have so much heart & such a strong commitment to the animals in their care. We first reached out to them many years ago when we found a stray, injured cat in the middle of the winter and all the shelters around were full, including Baypath. Somehow they found room to help this little guy & soon got him adopted.

Since then my parents & several of my friends have adopted cats from Baypath & had good experiences.

I began volunteering as a dog walker 1.5 years ago. I have great admiration for Baypath staff and fellow volunteers, who bring a great deal of love and dedication to what they do, from helping families find a dog or cat who's the best fit for them to making sure the animals are as happy and healthy as possible while they're at the shelter.

My daughter and I had visited numerous shelters before a friend recommended Baypath. The minute I saw the website, I knew they had the dog we were looking for. From the phone call, to the visit, and to their immediate understanding of what we were capable of giving to any animal, it was the perfect experience. Their caring and commitment is unbelievable as they followed up with an email and a phone call. If you are truly an animal lover, this is the place to find your next pet.

We adopted from Baypath, ten years ago!, after visiting many other New England shelters. I was struck by the cleanliness, open air places for the dogs, and the great staff and volunteers. Our dog is a pit mix, as so many shelter dogs are, but she was a puppy, with her litter mates, which meant a lot of excitement and attention in the pen, cuteness overload! Our pup found us right away, and I will never forget the staffer who told us that this was the dog's big chance for a great life - because she was a pit, it would be that much harder for her if she came back older. They really put the animals first and made sure that we were committed to being good owners! Though we live farther away now, I continue to keep in touch with Baypath, and feel like part of the community. If we ever adopt again, I know we will be back! I will be forever grateful to them for bringing our wonderful pup into our lives. She is a gentle joy.

I volunteered for BHS as part of an externship for my certification in dog training and behavior through Animal Behavior College. Not only do the employees of BHS and their volunteers consistently act with integrity and the well-being of the animals in their care, they are tireless in their efforts to provide loving long term homes. They work very hard to appropriately respond, without judgement, to people who surrender pets as well as potential adopters, regardless of circumstance. I never once saw them turn down any animal in need of a temporary home. I was proud to have volunteered for an organization that embodied the intention of animal rescue and humane societies and will always recommend Baypath Humane Society to friends, family and clients as a resource for responsible, friendly pet adoptions.

We adopted a kitten from Baypath one month ago. Staff at the shelter were very helpful and the adoption process straight-forward and efficient. Our kitten had received thorough vet care at the shelter and was micro-chipped. She is healthy, active and has quickly grown to be a much loved member of our household.

We adopted our pup from Baypath a few years ago! of all the places we went to look for a dog, they made the best impression on us and made the adoption process easy. They took the time to help us get to know the different animals that were there and let us bond with Bella before she came home with us! The staff was great and i hope that someday we will be able to go back and adopt another forever friend to our family.

Over the past 8 years I have adopted two dogs from Baypath Humane Society. My first dog was a hot mess...but there was something about him I couldn't walk away from. Today he is the biggest softy I have ever met. Our second dog was just a puppy when we went to pick her up I remember taking her out of the cage away from where she was kissing her sister. The employee of Baypath and I were both in tears. If the other puppy wasn't spoken for I would have took them both. Both of our adoptions went very smooth...Baypath was very honest and open about both of our dogs backgrounds. Grizzly Adams and Molly both have been a huge joy to our families. Thank you so much!

I adopted my pitbull Tucker from Baypath and the experience was wonderful - the staff was caring, attentive, passionate and answered every question we had. The shelter is clean and pleasant and they work so incredibly hard to place dogs in the RIGHT homes. I love that there are still so many ways to stay a part of the Baypath family even if you aren't able to adopt another dog again - they do annual walks, 5Ks, golf tournaments - so many ways to contribute. This shelter is top notch - I would recommend it to anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat in need of a home!

I have never meet more caring and out going people. Baypath Humane Society helped my family select the right dog for our family. They made it fun, easy and affordable, our experience was so great and we are so thankful to Baypath that we continue to donate what we can to them for helping us complete our family with the adoption of our dog Sadie. I would recommend Baypath to anyone who is looking to adopt a pet or just a good cause to donate too.

In December of 2013 I was hospitalized for a week right before Christmas. Before I had been admitted my husband and I had decided to adopt from Baypath. I had dropped in for a visit and had been introduced to some of the dogs and kitties. We decided to adopt a cat.

My husband went over to visit while I was in the hospital and he sent me pictures and videos of the kitties available for adoption. There were a few cats that we liked very much but in the end we decided on a little gray kitten named Melvin that was absolutely terrified of being in the shelter.

Even though I could not go in person to pick up little Elroy (we decided to change his name) - I spoke to the staff on the phone and they helped my husband get our little boy and bring him home to my on the very day I got out of the hospital.

Someone from the staff called me after the adoption to find out how things were going and we told them how much we loved him and have been working on giving him confidence and loving affection.

This shelter does a great job of placing animals with new loving homes.

Baypath is truly one of the best shelters in the area. My family has adopted two cats from here and we plan to adopt a dog shortly. The adoption process with our cats went smoothly and they are the two sweetest boys you could ask for. Mild mannered and affectionate, even with my 2 year old niece who can be a bit rough.

The staff is friendly, welcoming and professional. I regularly visit to cheer myself up and to visit with the lovely cats and dogs. I love that they have the large enclosure for the cats to be "outside" and that the dogs are walked so frequently.

Had a horrible exoerience with this shelter. They lied about the dog I was getting (saying he was a great dane mix, but he was CLEARLY a pitbull). This would have been no big deal, had they been honest from the start, I still would have adopted if not for what happened afterwards. The volunteers could tell me nothing about the dog. He had "came in from transport that day" and thus "had not even seen a vet". He was with their other dogs! Not isolated in any way! What happened to the quarentine period?!?!?! Disgusted with this shelter.

I looked at many different shelters while on the look out for a dog, and this one was by far the worst. The volunteers were extremley disorganized, fighting amongst themselves, and could tell me nothing abou tthe dog I would have liked to adopt other than bad mouthing the person who had to surrender it. They then started screaming at my child when he tried to pat this "child friendly dog". As he was being put in a house with children, it was important I saw him with my children. After finding out about the distemper outbreak from thier shelter, I am glad we didn't adopt from them!!!
