I have always been interested in Glass Art. I purchased a "Groupon" Discovery Glass Blowing experience and made a Glass Snowman with my daughters. We had some much fun I came back for a 2nd class, then a 3rd. The instructors were very knowledgeable and very personable. I then took several more advanced classes and now I am renting bench time and blowing glass on my own. I am enjoying it so much I am now on the board and helping to ensure that this treasure in San Jose will be around to help spread the experience of making Glass Art for more in the community to experience.

If you have ever been interested in learning to make Glass Art you should check out BAGI. If your interests are Glass Blowing, Fusing, or Flame Working BAGI has classes for you. And keep an eye on the web site as we expand course offerings in late 2015 and early 2016.

I've been involved with BAGI for nearly 15 years and have seen its impact extend and the organization grow stronger.

Many of the teams I lead have come to BAGI for a team building experience, getting hands-on with glass art and bringing back both a personal creation and a team-designed piece. Lots of local companies, including Google, Apple, Adobe, Cisco, Intuit, GoDaddy and many others have held events at BAGI and come away energized by the experience.

The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch that BAGI and the Palo Alto Art Center have sponsored since 1995 continues to delight school children during their visit during the week with a field of beautiful glass pumpkins to learn about handmade glass art and then generate income for dozens of local glass artists from the sale that occurs on the weekend.

And artists can rent time in the studio to advance their careers while students and artists-in-training come take classes to grow their skills.

It's worth signing up for a class or coming to a demo to experience it yourself.

I became interested in glass fusing after a number of years doing stained glass. I took a basic class at BAGI that turned out to be far more than basic and changed the course of my interest in glass. My instructor was very knowledgable and a definitive word in cold working. The instructors are dedicated. In addition to basic glass fusing there are classes in glass blowing as well as events that allow the public to come in and watch and learn the process.

BAGI offers a scope of introductory classes suitable for all ages and I believe it is very important to continue interest in this less known art form.
