This place prevents more child abuse than anyone could ever imagine. It is truly incredible. I am the sole parent of a 2.5 year old little boy and I have no living family to help me. After I was in an accident and was too injured to take care of my son, I had no choice but to do the right thing and bring him here. This place is so warm and loving. It looks more like a home than anything and the children sleep in bedrooms where they're warm and feel loved and the staff knows exactly what each individual child needs to comfort them. I have been taking my son here every month for about a year and a half for a 48 hour stress break. Like clockwork. He has come to expect it and gets super excited to go to "the nursery". I don't know what I'd do without this place. Every single city should have a place like this. If you have any fear in taking your child here, don't. I did at first, but in their 30 years of operation they've only ever had to turn a child over to CPS twice. Just 2 times in 30 years (because of abandonment). They are here to help you, and you will get your child back. I promise you, they are here to help. If you have ever considered donating to this place, I cannot think of a better cause to donate your money to. They have had and continue to have a tremendous impact on me and my son's life. Mission: Care for children whose families are in crisis
Programs: 24-hour respite care for up to 20 children per day provides a safe environment for children of families in stress and/or crisis. Case management/parenting review of all families using the nursery. Identifying families needing extra help to stabilize their family to get out of crisis. Provide weekly parenting sessions for families using the nursery.
