Mission: To maximize the vocational potential and quality of life of adult persons with disabilities or other barriers to employment through the flexible integration of counseling, evaluation, life and work skills training, job placement, support services and employment in a therapeutic or communtiy based remunerative work environment.
Programs: Bawac maintained its carf national accreditation in community integration, vocational evaluation and organizational employment services. The total agency served 350 individuals with disabilities this year. The community rehabilitation program served 108 people while providing them meaningful production work, 3,181 client personal goals were met out of 3,667 being set, for a 86. 7% success rate, thus exceeding the goal of 85%.
in the supported employment program, 26 clients were successfully placed in community jobs and were maintained a minimum of 90 days. An additional 76 people were maintained in community jobs through the employment maintenance division of the supported employment program. The supported employment program also completed 31 person centered plans for severely disabled individuals which helps identify their strengths that can lead to job placement in specific areas as well as identify service needs to improve their overall functioning.
bawac's transportation service expanded to serve 215 individuals this year, taking them to and from bawac, six other community service providers and community jobs. Bawac runs 215 trips per day on 28 routes (7,000 trips per year. )bawac has significantly increased the quality of transportation for people with disabilites. Consumer surveys were all positive, praising the quality of our drivers, the on time pick-up and delivery, and the overall care taken with the individuals. Staff from other agencies consistently complement us for the services quality.
