Mission: To provide ocular tissue recovery services in a eleven parish area and public education programs to promote eye/cornea donations. Distribution of tissue for transplant, research and education. Maintenance of ongoing reporting and documenting of non-conformance incidents. Maintenance of a recipient waiting list from area ophthalmologists. Continual development of public awareness of the eye bank program.
Programs: The organization provides ocular tissue recovery services to 30 regional hospitals including processing, evaluation and distribution of donated eye tissue. Publications are created to promote public awareness of this program.
