The Barracks Legend Foundation is an amazing organization that goes above and beyond to help Veterans and their families. The events they host help bring Veterans out of their shells and help them connect with others to help them continue their purpose in life.
I’ve waited years to go to an irreverent warriors hike and finally had the opportunity to participate! I very much enjoyed my experience, and and loved Angelo and Natalia and their organization are doing for us Veterans. I am excited to participate in more events in the future!
I had an amazing time. I have been involved with Angelo not only this, but also in another nonprofit and one thing that differentiates his involvement from others is the amount of care he puts in ensuring that veterans needs and experiences are put at the forefront. I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t attended one of the events put on by BLF to attend. I live 5 hours away and I attend when I am able to.
I was introduced to BLF just over a year ago and then started volunteering for them a few month ago. I’m so proud to be part of an organization with leaders who are clearly passionate about what the organization is doing. The work BLF does has a major impact on the veteran community. It is a relatively young non-profit but it is so exciting to be part of a growing organization that is only gaining more and more momentum.
The Barracks Legend Foundation brings tremendous support to the military community and a level of integrity far exceeding the norm. A non-profit structure can be challenging, both financially and in terms of keeping up with the required work. Their team is exceptional, and I am happy to recommend anything they are involved in.
I went to the bowling event last Saturday. And it was a really good time. Everyone was very inviting & welcoming. There was bowling, food drinks, and overall really good vibes. I definitely plan on going to another event with barracks legend
I am a volunteer with Barracks Legend Foundation. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. This group is dedicated to bringing a genuine sense of community to Veterans.
I've had the privilege of helping at several events, including a Top Golf event, an ice cream social, and a fishing trip. These events are thoughtfully organized and attended by warm-hearted and welcoming individuals. The camaraderie and support within this community are truly authentic.
Through my involvement, I know I have made lifelong friends and found a place where I can be helpful. I look forward to continuing to play a part in this organization and making more new friends along the way. Highly recommend for Veterans, their families, and anyone wanting to volunteer with those who have served.
Barracks Legend Foundation is an amazing organization. I was able to participate in one of their events. It was run effectively and I could tell they really cared about helping veterans.
The leaders of this organization have been nothing but kind and compassionate. I've been both a recipient and a donor. I do my best to be involved with BLF but can't always help, Veterans organizations are hard to follow and BLF have been the best of friends and family.
I’ve only participated in a couple of events so far but what an experience! Great communication from the organizers and fun events!
In all honesty I wasn’t aware of the meaning behind this organization until today. I have personal experience with SI and several past attempts. It’s hard explaining yourself to people who don’t really understand and it is extremely isolating. Being surrounded today with a large group of people who do know what that feels like was something I didn’t even realize I needed. Having that camaraderie and togetherness is something I find myself missing constantly from my time in the military. Nothing quite compares it.
This is an incredible foundation that I hope continues to reach and touches more lives. Shout out to Angelo, for letting me be apart of it.

All of us have lost so many of our young people from this “war after the war”, & the one fought within ourselves when we came home.
Direction, purpose, & a sense of belonging keep us grounded. It’s what keeps people going on impossible days.
Both military & non military share that trait in the sense that when we loose our connection to what gives our lives meaning, the outcomes are often tragic.
IMO, this organization, ran in part by a former Marine Grunt of GWOT no less, is making direct contributions to combating the nearly 44 a day that choose to stop fighting for life & take their own. Done through education, fellowship, follow up, and honestly just a real sense of actually caring.
Life presents few sacred missions & this is definitely one of them. Thank you ‘Barracks Legend Foundation’ for your direct & indirect impact on the lives of so many. Truly!

The Barracks Legend Foundation is an amazing non profit that helps veterans get out of isolation. With 44 veterans who take their lives everyday, it’s important to advocate for them. This nonprofit makes events that bring veterans together. I served 4 years in the Marine Corps as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense Specialist. After getting out of the service it was hard to socialize and adjust but with this foundation I was able to. Thank you so much for what you do! Angelo Martinez you are an angel and thank you for your service. Thank you for making this nonprofit. I can see how lives have been changed by getting veterans out of isolation. Semper Fi!
I absolutely love the Barracks Legend Foundation. At a dark and tough time in my life, I found myself struggling to transition from military life to civilian life. I was super hesitant on going to events but I finally gave in after talking to Angelo and feeling comfortable around him and his story. I’ve never felt more accepted when I showed up to the events and being around fellow veterans. I felt like I was back in the environment I only knew of being around other military and the camaraderie. I would definitely recommend attending BLF events if you haven’t done so already!
I originally had doubts and told myself I don't need/deserve to join a "social group for vets". I was stupid. I'm a little less stupid. Be LESS stupid than me.
Someone else described these events as therapy disguised as fun and I 100% agree.
Being able to make friends with others, meet their families and friends + having a dedicated team of organizers/ volunteers who welcome you in just for being you - I'm really grateful for the work this group does and the many new friends I meet at each event.
What Barracks Legend is doing is nothing short of amazing. Being able to connect with fellow Veterans and participate with the community was just what I needed.
Great leadership and authenticity shows! Went to the Top Golf event and took my 9th year old daughter along we had an amazing time. I normally don’t do social events, BLF, Angelo, and his team know what they are doing and have an amazing way of putting together great events!
I’ve known Angelo for years and have attended all the Fort Lauderdale hikes and events. Being with my Marine brothers at these events has not only helped me but it’s produced life long friends and it’s helped so many veterans promote their own businesses at the events. This non-profit does things a bit differently, and that’s what allows them to help more Veterans than many others. They bring us together at an event that is therapy disguised as a fun hangout with your buddies.
I myself suffer from major depressive disorder and severe anxiety. I love volunteering and helping others, but struggled getting back out there. I met Angelo before my son headed to bootcamp and really loved what he was doing with Barracks Legend Foundation. I volunteered almost a year later and wish I would have done it sooner! They have THE MOST welcoming and accepting vibe! The camaraderie is so amazing to witness! If you are a veteran and have not yet attended an event…please do so!! You will not regret it.
Hello my name is Kenley Cordova I served with Angelo Martinez in the USMC. Currently diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety, depression etc after serving in Iraq 04’-05 (operation phantom fury). Thankfully I was invited to the Fort Lauderdale hike for my third time and as usual it was epic. Definitely did wonders for my mental health especially after being in somewhat of an isolated state for some time. The people, energy, vibes all welcoming and of acceptance. Really appreciate the workers who are patient, understanding, compassionate really and they seemed to enjoy what they do. I honestly couldn’t think of any tips to improve. Feel like you guys outdid yourselves w all the events and connections you’ve made to help us veterans. All four days I attended were all fun and beneficial I’d say. Thanks so much.
Beyond grateful for this organization! The Barracks Legend Foundation is exactly what veterans need!! They do the most to pull veterans out of isolation and truly provides the opportunity to connect with others. I have attended a few events and the amount of veterans attending gets greater every time and you can see the positive impact that is made!
Angelo is a great guy with an incredible mission. I went on the shark diving excursion and had such a great time. Everything was covered and it was an incredible opportunity that I might not have gone out of my way to do on my own. He's dedicated his life to helping his fellow veterans and I can't over state how lucky the veteran community is to have him. Love ya brother and I'm so proud of you and what you are doing!
I have never met anyone more self-less than Angelo. Although he juggles many roles, he ensures that others are included and helps them find a community. I have had the opportunity to attend several Barracks Legend foundation events and have made connections, networked and used the events to help others as well. I truly love what this foundation is doing, thank you!
This organization has changed my life in ways I did needed it. I met so many new friends and gave me an outlet to be able go out. The events have helped me connect with new friends and veterans that have shared similar experiences. I have connected with so many people that I have friends I can call if I need help. Angelo and Natalia are instrumental in the networking of veterans it is unbelievable.
It great to experience the commradery I have been missing since separating from the Air Force. The events are always fun; what makes them special are the veterans, coming together because of a common bond. This organization is key to reducing suicide amongst military and veterans, through the many events they create with amazing partner companies, barracks legends foundation creates the opportunities for mil and veterans alike to get themselves out of isolation in the form of everyday, fun, events, all at little to no cost to the attendees. In an ever financially increasing living situation, many of the main issues mil and vet alike face is the ability to do very simple things that cost money they might not have available to use for fun. Baracks legends foundation removes that impediment so that its participants can enjoy stress free the important factors of camaraderie and friendship which applies to a life saving application. The Barracks Legend Foundation has played a pivotal role in my recovery, providing an invaluable escape from my mental battles through their engaging events. Participating in activities like shark diving with Shark Addicts, attending a veteran-focused comedy show at the Miami Improv, and enjoying axe throwing and painting classes has significantly enriched my life.
These experiences have given me the chance to connect with others who share similar backgrounds, helping me rediscover myself. Previously grappling with issues related to substance abuse, alcohol, and suicidal thoughts, I now find these troubles fading into the background, thanks to the positive environment fostered by the foundation. The sense of fellowship I’ve found has been profoundly healing, underscoring the power of camaraderie.
Angelo is an absolute inspiration to everyone he meets. Aside from working tirelessly to help Veterans find camaraderie, he is also mobilizing numerous non-profits and organizations to work together to achieve our common goals. If anyone is moving the needle, it's the Barracks Legend Foundation.
Amazing time and I saw how these veterans loved not only shooting (because it is their element), but being with each other! They were like kids. Thank yiy for continuing to bring our vets together for comroderie!
The Barracks Legend Foundation has helped me in several ways. But I just want to concentrate on one. Community. Getting to be around a group of veterans who want to help each other, and help themselves at the same time. What better way to give back to the world than to help take care of those who put their lives on the line, risking everything for our freedom. I have met and become friends with several veterans who have been there for me, and I am there for them as well when I need help. I have done this as a volunteer at their events, a “client” who just needs to connect to someone, and as an industry professional. The Barrack Legend Foundation has been there for me, so I return the favor and will be there for them, or for another Veteran. That is what a community is, at least it is in my opinion….
I met Angelo through my business mentor, and he invited me to their paint and sip event, where I connected with him and other veterans. It was a great time, and honestly, it felt refreshing to be around other veterans again, engaging in conversations and sharing inside jokes.
Since then, I've attended several other events and do my best to share with others. The Barracks Legend Foundation has done an amazing job in building a community for those who have felt forgotten, staying true to the old adage - “No man left behind.“

I have had the pleasure to attend some events put on by Barracks Legend Foundation, each one has left me with a smile on my face and a sense of well being & belonging. This organization puts on a great variety of events that bring vets together and out of isolation (like many of us do). Whether you have been out of the service for a while, getting out soon, or still serving. What sets Barracks Legend Foundation apart is what many of us miss about our time in service, not just the variety of events they offer but the sense of community they foster – a community driven by resilience, support, and shared experiences.

I met Angelo in July of 2023 at my first Barracks Legend event, Veteran getaway at Busch Gardens. The foundation has helped me in so many ways and they are committed to making sure veterans know that they aren’t alone. Between the friendships I have made to knowing that even during my worst times there are great people to help me thru, I can’t thank Angelo and the rest of the foundation enough.
I now enjoy volunteering with the foundation and getting the word out to the South Florida Veteran community.

I’m a marine corps veteran and I was having a really hard time finding a community where I fit in. When I found Barracks Legend Foundation, I felt that I found the community that I’ve been searching so long for. The planned events are so fun and have such a great variety, you WILL find something that fits you!

Elated with my time around Barracks Legend Foundation. Wonderful to meet people in the community, felt like many doors were opened to me and had the opportunity to get involved as little or as much as I could.
