Causes: Arts & Culture, Ballet
Mission: Present the art of ballet and other forms of dance to audiences of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Results: Ballet Concerto's mission is accomplished through four annual programs, which have developed since its inception in 1969. FIND, or “Find and Inspire New Dancers,” provides regularly scheduled, year-long dance classes in Fort Worth ISD elementary schools at no cost to the District. Lecture/Demonstrations, also provided free of charge to Fort Worth ISD elementary schools, are one hour programs involving performances, audience participation, and questions and answers. The annual Summer Dance Concert is a four-day weekend of dance held in the barrier-free environment of Trinity Park Pavilion in Fort Worth. The Summer Dance Concert is the only event in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex that offers a free, outdoor dance performance. The annual Holiday Special is a series of indoor performances scheduled every December and offered at no cost to Fort Worth ISD students, who are transported to the theater during their school day.
