Nonprofit Overview
Mission: Our mission is to create an environment on bainbridge island where the arts and humanities flourish. Our programs include arts in education, celluloid film festival, poetry corners, island treasure awards and the amy award for emerging artists. We are also the connector and the illuminator for arts and culture on the island, supplying support, collaboration, promotion, and advocacy for local artists and cultural organizations.
Programs: Arts in education - in partnership with bainbridge island and north kitsap school districts, the arts in education program connects teaching artists with principals and teachers to provide arts residencies in the classroom to integrate arts into the core curricula. Approximately 2,200 students are served.
recognition programs - the island treasure awards and amy award for emerging artists provide public recognition and financial awards to extraordinary bainbridge islanders for their excellence in the arts and humanities
promotion and advocacy for artists and cultural organizations of bainbridge island is conducted through "currents", our quarterly culture magazine, social media, and collaborations with 22 arts and culture organizations on bainbridge island.
