I went into a puppy store where Bailing out Benji was protesting and instead of calmly educating me and my kids they were yelling ahgressively at everyone on how bad The Puppy Store was. I found someone to call security for the strip mall to get them removed because they were making my children feel unsafe. I still can't believe Bailing Out Benji would allow such disgraceful volunteers to be apart of their organization.

Our volunteers were never removed from a protest in Utah. In fact, the police arrived after we called them due to harassment and a physical assault from someone affiliated with the mall. We understand that people don't want to feel guilty about their purchases, but our teams have very clear rules they follow when they protest and we stand by them and their first amendment right to educate peacefully in front of pet stores.

Bailing Out Benji is amazing! The first step in helping end puppy mills is to get educated about the matter and BOB has so many tools to make that possible. Their podcast is my favorite. Bailing Out Benji is a great organization when it comes to shining a light on the horrible and inhumane conditions of puppy mills in the United States. I have been volunteering with them for a few months now by making signs and going to protests outside puppy selling pet stores. They've also helped me learn how to draft up a letter to the editor of my local newspaper, something I've never done before! I think they are a marvelous organization who deserves more spotlight.

Hiiii I volunteer with Bailing Out Benji and I am proud to be a part of an organization that share actual facts !
I volunteer to make a change for the dogs in the mill ( protesting, table events, sharing posts on social media- anything you can do can help) and the puppies sold in pet stores but also to protect consumers and families- who unfortunately sometime purchase a sick animal

I have been a volunteer with this organization for over 2.5 years and love the team as we learn from each other and are from all over the country

I started educating about puppy mills 20 years ago and was thrilled when I found out about Bailing out Benji. The founder, Mindi, went through the same unfortunate experience that so many people do. Because of this, the organization has put forth so much effort in educating the public and taking stands in legislature to curb puppy mill pet stores. I am honored to be a volunteer to double the impact on putting an end to commercial breeding facilities and the stores that profit from them.

They are quick to help answer questions or send needed materials to help educate our state about Puppy Mills and how to educate ways to avoid or shut down puppy mills in our state. The research Bailing Out Benji provides has helped to educate across the state of Ohio.

Bailing out Benji is a highly organized and proactive non-profit that benefits so many animals and raises awareness in the community by educating about the cruel connection between pet stores and puppy mills. In addition to in-person events and protests, they share resources, educational articles, letter campaigns, etc. Animals in 'puppy mills' are used for profit, continually bred until they no longer produce, and then discarded like trash. They suffer from malnutrition (or starvation) because of unsanitary food and water while sick or dying animals receive little or no veterinary care. Say NO to pet stores and puppy mills and adopt instead!

This nonprofit has changed my life. The evils of puppymills would go unnoticed if it weren't for the amazing and tireless work of Mindi and her nonprofit, Bailing Out Benji. I am a volunteer for this organization and educating people about the need to end puppymills is our #1 priority. The thing is, if people knew where puppymill puppies come from, they would NEVER support the establishments that keep puppymills in business. The sad thing is that the US government is not doing enough to protect the innocent companion animals trapped in these mills. BoB will continue, with determination and grit, to spread the message that puppymills are evil places and no dog should ever have to "live" in one. Puppymills put profits over EVERYTHING else. These dogs never receive veterinarian care or companionship, and live their entire lives in small, wire-bottom cages in blistering heat and below freezing temperatures. Simply put, it is unacceptable to do this to defenseless companion animals. #adoptdontshop #puppiesarentproducts #showmethemommy

I am so appreciative of the work Bailing Out Benji is doing. The pain and despair the dogs in puppy mills suffer is unimaginable.
B.O.B. works tirelessly to educate the public so that people will understand what puppy mills are and what life is like for the dogs that live their entire lives in small cages. These dogs are used to produce one litter of pups after another and after their bodies break down, the mother dog is destroyed or dropped off in "the country" to fend for themselves.
People who exploit innocent dogs for a profit should be stopped!
Please consider furthering this selfless group's mission by making a donation. Thank you. Thank you!

To be able to facilitate educational opportunities and support our neighbors in times of need has been fulfilling and heartwarming. I have seen hundreds of people in my area learn what puppy mills are and even pledge to adopt instead of buy. We also provide pet food to families going through financial hardship to help keep pets in heir loving homes. Between both of these endeavors I cannot say enough good things about BOB. I do not like how they attack those who have the same beliefs as them but doesn’t do or act upon it in the same tit for tat way they do things! In my opinion, I would never adopt or donate to this organization just based on how they attack, accuse, and bully other people or other organizations! I am a huge animal lover and advocate but would never partake in such distasteful behavior as this facility and there staff/volunteers do! I donate tons of money to end animal neglect but rather than sitting on social media, phones, or computers all day I take action and use my kind words to make a difference! Respect and kindness goes a long way. There's a difference between maliciously offending somebody on purpose and somebody being offended by factual truths. If you're offended by the truth, that's your problem. No one has an obligation to not offend you if their speaking factual truths. When people bash, attack, slander, and bully as this company does it creates a bigger issue by pinning someone in a corner or as I like to say poking the bear! This behavior only makes the bashed or non-guilty party push harder to do the exact opposite of what the bashers/bullies want them to do! I have watched bailing out benji use their words to rip apart many companies. When in fact, were doing nothing wrong. The stores politely responded and acted on what this nonprofit organization wanted and rather than leaving it alone bailing out Benji continued to poke and prod causing more issues. There are proper and professional ways to get your message across and bullying isn't one of them! The main goal to this organization is to end animal neglect all together. Meanwhile, while this organization passes their message along they have created a bigger issue. Human neglect and bullying is just as big of an issue in our community as puppy mills and animal cruelty! Take these words from an outsider looking in, you are fighting and supporting a wonderful and amazing cause but don't be the source to another really big problem in society all because you couldn't properly keep your composure by bashing others.
What is a “puppy mill”?
Our definition of the term “puppy mill” is a breeding facility in which the profit is more important than the welfare of the dogs. Think of it as a factory farm for puppies. The parents are bred every heat cycle until their bodies give out. They are forced to live in cramped cages their entire lives, their paws never touching the ground. These parent dogs are not always fed healthy food or clean water and they are very rarely (if ever) seen by a vet for illness or injury.
This is the definition they use on their website as a puppy mill but I have witnessed this organization tear apart multiple pet stores maliciously. I have personal gone to visit them all just to see if the statements were true. In fact, they were false accusations and false leading assumptions because of a stereotype that pet stores as a whole gain because of one or two bad pet store experiences. While visiting these stores gaining my own perceptions, I came to realize many of these stores do great things to help contribute to ending animal cruelty. Some host free adoptions, host vaccination days, and supply some basic vet needs if others can’t afford them. Also, most of the stores they have bullied and attacked do not breed dogs. Therefore, a puppy mill in my opinion would not be the correct term to place them under. In fact, I spoke with a couple of the owners or managers of these alleged puppy mill pet stores and was able to hear their side. While listening I could feel the passion behind how much they care for animals. They also spoke some wise words that even I as an advocate never really stepped back to think about. "We do not buy from puppy mills. However, if people who have love for animals as much as we do chooses to buy these puppies or dogs harbored in these disgusting puppy mills, they are actually nine times out of ten saving them by finding them forever homes and no longer suffer in such terrible conditions." I now have made a personal opinion which indeed can be credible because I took the time to see it for myself. My opinion is that if organizations like bailing out benji would join forces with half the stores they bash they would make a good team and could make a much bigger difference in our forever messed up community.

My group has been one of the lucky ones to become one of Bailing Out Benji's volunteer teams. We are located in Pittsburgh, PA. Mindi, the founder, has been a huge source of support for us in this new chapter. The amount of time and research that they put into the state maps of puppy mills is huge, but it gets people's attention. They protest every weekend in every kind of weather, and their efforts have helped to reduce the demand for mill dogs in pet stores. Their efforts have inspired so many to get involved with the cause, and, with them, we hope to reach more.

My first contact from Bailing Out Benji happened when I was inquiring his to adopt a puppy mill dog. MIndi Callison referred me to Hearts United for Animals in Auburn NE and we adopted a beautiful, loving Cocker Spaniel that we have had for 2 years.

My husband, Craig, and I volunteered at one of the protests in front of Dyvigs Pet Store in Ames, Iowa in 2015. We found out first hand what a dedicated organization Bailing Out Benji is.

They are so compassionate and involved into educating the public to the horrors of puppy mills. In such a short time, they have grown the brand and the mission of spreading the word and now have outreach organizations in several other states besides Iowa.

There needs to be 100 more Bailing Out Benji's and 1,000 more Mindi Callisons!!

Several months later, I had absolutely no hesitation when presented with the opportunity to help bring Bailing Out Benji to Texas. I knew there were puppy mills in Texas, yet I had not anticipated the extent of this horrible industry in our state. The money raised goes towards alot of marketing, literature, banners on billboards and busses. If anyone questions this, I encourage you to look up the costs yourselves-it's not cheap!!!
They're non profit and do the best the can with what they're able to raise.

Many people have been educated across the globe and as a result have adopted at their local shelter/s and or breed specific rescues!

It takes a village! We must ALL do our part to end animal cruelty in and out of Puppy Mills. If you want change, be the change! Get out and help protest, educated, contact your legislatures and fight the good fight like BOB has .

I have always been an animal lover. I volunteered at a vet as a teenager, had many pets as a child and got my first dog in my early twenties. I wasn't allowed one as a child because I was allergic, but I didn't care and toughed it out anyways to have a beloved dog. I got a dachshund because I had wanted one for years. I found a breeder and picked her up at 8 weeks old. As much as I loved animals, I had no clue about rescue or the horrors that so many dogs endure due to puppy mills. I discovered rescue a few years later and adopted my second dog from a dachshund rescue and was feeling good about saving a life. Still, I had no idea what a puppy mill was. I was just browsing Facebook one day about 4 or 5 years ago, and one of the dachshund pages I follow showed a link to an article about puppy mills written by Bailing out Benji. I was horrified, cried tears and felt enraged that this horrific suffering was going on and so many people either don't know about it or are the people who are perpetuating it. From that moment on, I have been active about educating the people I know about puppy mills, as well as doing my part to be sure not to support those who support mills in any way. I'm educating my daughters now, and I can guarantee my girls would never "buy" a pet. Bailing out Benji is a great wealth of information teaching so many about the perils of puppy mills and pet store puppies, but even more Bailing out Benji is also a group of dedicated activists making a difference.

BOB helped in transporting my 2 pugs to Pug Partners at the drop of a hat. Mindy and her husband are most kind and willing to do whatever it takes for dogs and dog people.

Bailing out Benji inspired me to work with my local officials to educate others on the dangers of ordinances which allow animal cruelty. I personally networked with them to help close a cruel roadside zoo that was not properly caring for their animals, their research and information was key in educating our community to save the animals in that zoo. I also worked with them on other projects and could not have achieved the successes I did in educating others if it weren't for the information and resources provided by Bailing Out Benji. They are passionate about animals and dedicated to education and sharing information to help in the fight against the cruel practices of dog breeding and animal neglect. This organization gives their all and when that isn't enough they dig down deep and give some more. The animals are very lucky to have an organization like B.O.B. on their side.

Bailing Out Benji is a phenomenal non-profit that prides itself in awareness and being an advocate for those puppy mill dogs that do not have a voice on their own. Being a foster and adoption site for several different rescues over the past 4 years, one of the most common things I hear is I never knew what a puppy mill was. Their stories always go something like this; I purchased my from an ad in the paper or online. They told me I didn’t have to drive to them they would meet me a gas station and pick the puppy for me. Or let me come to their property but we will bring out a few for you to look at and not let us inside or see the parents. With continued education done by Bailing Out Benji the community will continue to learn how we in Iowa are living in the 2nd biggest puppy mill state in the Nation. We need a group out fighting for these dogs and getting the word spread.
For instance these 10 Yorkies that were all turned over by a puppy mill breeder. These dogs had never touched or felt grass, lived in wire cages. All the dogs had never had any vet care, teeth rotting and hanging out of their mouths. One of the dogs did not even have an eyeball, just an open eye. Even though Bailing Out Benji is a nonprofit and solely relies on donations to keep up the education. Bailing Out Benji worked very hard starting and helping a fundraiser to raise over the $8,000 that was racked up in vet costs to get these poor ones treated.

Bailing Out Benji is an amazing non-profit that educates the public and advocates on behalf of the dogs and puppies that are living in implorable conditions in puppy mills. As a volunteer with Pug Partners of Nebraska, I have seen first hand the physical and mental damage inflicted on dogs that have spent their lives in cages in puppy mills. Mindi Callison and Bailing Out Benji are making lives better for so many innocent animals!!

Bailing out Benji is an amaziing organization. Not only do they educate the public about the plight of dogs that are caged their entire lives, but they have partnered with my organization in getting some dogs released and placed into rescue. Some of these dogs come with no medical care and in deplorable condition. Bailing Out Benji is a great champion for these dogs and without them these dogs would continue to suffer. I can't say enough great things about them.

I love this group. They do good work and are so kind to everyone. I have witnessed people who are so cruel and say awful things but the no one replies in kind. They end the encounters with "have a nice day". They are a class act

Bailing Out Benji does an excellent job of educating the community about the true source of puppies sold in pet stores and the inhumane conditions in puppy mills and for-profit breeding facilities.

I recently began volunteering with this organization and as a result have learned a lot about puppy mills and the importance of adopting instead of shopping for puppies. Many people are just not educated on puppy mills and do not understand that buying from ads such as Craigslist or from newspapers is only keeping the puppy mills alive and growing. Adopt don't shop!

Hate cruelty to animals? Against animal abuse? Puppy mills are exactly both! Bailing Out Benji educates us all on where those adorable (but often sickly) pet store puppies come from, and the heartbreaking reality that their parents face for life. Their volunteers are as kindhearted and respectful as they are passionate about the cause! Think puppy mills aren't a problem? Check out their website and Facebook page, then do something! And, please, spread the word!

Bailing Out Benji does a wonderful job educating people on puppy mills. These animals spend their lives in cages having puppies for human profit. They stand up for the voiceless and I'm proud to be associated with this wonderful group of people!

A great organization with a clear vision and mission. Fair and focused on helping dogs in puppy mills and educating the public on how to make good decisions when bringing a dog or puppy into their family. Their tireless efforts to make sure pet stores who sell puppies from known puppy mills and commercial breeders are identified to the public so that they can make smart, humane, and responsible choices so that we can put an end to unethical breeders and puppy mills.
