Adopting our two dogs from Ay Chihuahua Rescue was such a seamless process. We adopted Digby in March of 2020 and Poppy in September of 2021 The volunteers and fosters were all professional, knowledgable and focused on what is best for dogs. Caysha guided us through the user friendly application and adoption. They were extremely helpful and patient while answering questions during and after the adoption, as well as checking in on Digby and Poppy after they were home. I highly recommend this rescue to anyone who is looking for an organization who puts dogs first and has the personal skills to make it a lovely experience for all people/pups involved. Ay- Chihuahua Rescue is. An amazing rescue . They love and care for our Angels. They make sure that they are taken care of, and loved and check up on them throughout that time in fosters and doctors. This is all very necessary, especially for the smallest breed of Angels.
Over the past 11 years we have adopted 7 chi babies from Ay Chihuahua Rescue. Their love and dedication to saving these tiny babies is unmatched. It doesn’t matter their age or condition. The goal is to love and care for them, and give them the opportunity to finally find a home where they can live and life of love and joy. Our first rescue,Bailey, was 4 years old and came from a puppy mill. Halle was 16 years old when she was picked up as a stray. No microchip, not spayed, and a possible healed broken jaw, the angels at Ay Chihuahua took her in. We adopted her and loved her for 4 months before she crossed the rainbow bridge. The tireless work these dedicated and loving volunteers do is wonderful. I’m so grateful for them.
I was able to participate in their fundraiser for a special needs pup who fought so hard to live his life even though everything was against him. They got with a local artist for a graphic design shirt that helped go towards his medical bills. I still wear this tee-shirt to this day. It would have been so easy to give up on this little dog but everyone who came into contact with him could see how much he wanted to live. Happy to report this particular pup not only survived but was adopted to a loving home. This organization works their tails off finding cures & homes for all the little ones that unfortunate circumstances would have seen forever lost or forgotten about but not Ay Chihuahua! They truly believe each pup deserves to find love & happiness. I will continue to support this nonprofit for as long as I am able because they are literal guardian angels for the tiniest of souls. Thank you all for the work you do, every little life you save & share about helps the rest of us keep the faith in humanity & hope alive for a happiness of our own.
I am a foster for Ay Chihuahua Rescue and we love working with them! I have been a foster with multiple organizations and this is definitely one of the best to work with. They are extremely supportive of their fosters and I would recommend anyone fostering or adopting through them!
I adopted a 7-yr old male from ACH in 2019, rescued from the streets of Austin and they nursed him through heartworm treatments. Sweetest boy ever, and they were so helpful in the adoption process. Then in 2021 we adopted him a 4-yr old sister. Rescued from streets in San Antonio with a mammary tumor and mild seizures. They gave her surgery and sought just the right owner. We love her dearly, no seizures in two years with good care and meds. Ay Chihuhua is an outstanding group, dedicated and compassionate. I recommend them to everyone.
It’s no secret that chihuahuas are my favorite dog breed, but it’s also no secret that Ay Chihuahua is my favorite non-profit charity down here in Austin, TX for everything they do to rescue, save and find furever homes for all the little chi lives they touch. They truly amaze and inspire me every day. I wish I could do only 1 percent of what they do for every chi they rescue and rehome. It takes a huge heart, undying devotion and a lot of patience, time and generosity to do everything they do in saving just one chi’s life and Ay Chihuahua never rests. The chihuahua(s) they are saving always takes precedence . It’s so admirable on so many levels and for all the reasons I just listed and so many more they are my favorite charity cause to give to every year. They are my heroes in life. When I retire I want to devote my life to saving these little fellows just like they do. Long live Ay Chihuahua!!

We are approved to adopt a chihuahua with Ay Chihuahua Rescue and they are very thorough and kind! We had the privilege of meeting some of their fosters at an event and you can tell each foster parent takes such good care of their pups and advocates for the absolute best placement for them. We love Ay Chihuahua!
My wife and I had the best experience working with Ay Chihuahua Rescue when we adopted a gorgeous little Chi/Pomeranian mix in 2021! They gave her a great foster home after she was found as a stray roaming the streets of San Antonio and took great care of her, and then we came along and made her a treasured member of our family. We would adopt 20 more doggos from Ay Chihuahua if we could! Very knowledgeable, caring people!
