Shelby (Fiona) has really become part of our family. After quite a long adjustment period and plenty of love , she has overcome her shyness and timidness turning out to be quite a great dog with a playful streak. Thanks to Awesome Paws for introducing us
My husband and I decided to adopt a dog for our daughter (and for us of course!!) We were put in touch with Awesome Paws and after we submitted our application, within a week, we were bringing our fur baby Koby home with us. He settled in very quickly and after only a week, he has definitely found his forever home!!! The process was so smooth and we could not be happier! Our daughter loves her new snuggle buddy and so do we! Thank you Awesome Paws Rescue!!
We adopted Tia! The whole process was easy. I was in contact with 3 fosters and was impressed how dedicated they were. A foster called me to set up a meet and greet and the dogs met outside. They came in the house to see how it went with our other dog. They were happy to see how well the two dogs got along. They left her with me. Every one was happy and they left tearfully knowing their Tia would be happy here.
I was introduced to awesome paws while I was attending Bark Bash 2017 at Knox Farms in East Aurora, NY. I was looking to adopt and was amazed at the dedication, knowledge and compassion the volunteers at Awesome Paws portrayed. I submitted my application and was contacted in a timely fashion. The process of adopting my rescue, Cooper was smooth and professional. Awesome paws is an amazing non profit whose mission is helping to change the lives of dogs and people alike.
Awesome Paws Rescue primarily rescues dogs from West Virginia who are at immediate risk of being euthanized. The organization has done incredible work and saved the lives of many dogs in the short time it’s been established. It has been a great joy to foster for this organization, the other fosters and volunteers are amazing people, and Julie (the founder) is wonderful. I definitely recommend!
Awesome Paws Rescue is a foster based Rescue in Western New York. The rescue was founded in July 2017 with the sole purpose of saving dogs. Most of our dogs come from a high kill shelter in West Virginia. We have an awesome group of volunteers who help out with processing applications, performing home visits, fostering dogs waiting to be adopted and attending events and participating in fundraising. I am very proud to be a volunteer with this Rescue. In less than one year we have saved over 300 dogs.
What an amazing rescue group! I cannot say enough about them. I rescued my Lucy through them and she’s been the most loved, spoiled, amazing, happy princess. Awesome paws u are amazing! Keep up the good work.

We pre-qualified with Awesome Paws although we ended up rescuing a pup through another rescue. Our experience with Awesome Paws was spectacular. They were so knowledgeable, kind and caring, and it was clear how dedicated they are to helping place rescues in loving, appropriate homes. We recommend them to anyone we talk to because we were so impressed with how they operate. We appreciate all of their efforts and hope they continue for many years to come.
They were so nice when I had my interview they were so great and helpful when I found a puppy i wanted they are so professional and nice my experience with them was awesome i would strongly recommend them
We had looked at several rescues and found an adorable pup with awesome paws. I emailed them and they did a home visit within a week of initial contact. Then we were able to arrange a meeting with our potential baby. The foster was very helpful and accommodating. We took him home that night. He needed a few additional vaccines and Julie came out to my house to give them when they were due! They were wonderful to work with and very informative -I have recommended them several times to friends and all had equally good experiences!

Awesome paws is incredible. The process is super simple and easy. After expressing our interest in a puppy we had him within 72 hrs. The foster mom even checked in with us a few days later to see how he settled in. We adopted a 13 week old Shepherd mix puppy (we named him Dart) and love him to pieces.
I can’t say enough about this rescue ! My father had lost his bff of 12 years about 2 years ago . The last 2 years he was definitely missing apart of his life . I then started to search the spca , multiple dog rescues and came across this one . I emailed the president of the rescue telling them what I was looking for , for my father . They were wonderful . They set us up with a meet & greet with foster mom Danielle ! She was wonderful . Never once was pressured during our 2 hours we spent at her house visiting with dear Frankie girl . My dad fell in love and the rest is history . He found his forever friend right there & then ! Frankie brings so much joy to his life and I’m forever grateful for her & awesome paws

We loved working with awesome paws! I was hesitant at first about rescuing a dog, but working with the foster family and volunteers led us to the perfect new family member. These wonderful people do great work!
I was recently pre approved for an adoption, the process was simple and now I am just waiting for the right match. I love that if you can not keep the pet, you must give it back to them for adoption again. Just confirms that they are also invested in these dogs.
At first, I Googled pet rescue places in Buffalo NY. WOW, what a list! It was overwhelming. I'd never have the time to search each one then search their pets. So, my son had a friend who adopted from Awesome Paws and had a great experience, so we gave it a shot. Talk about easy! The person who visited and pre-approved us was great, explained everything in detail. And, how easy is it to see new animals on their FB page? Each time we messaged we were interested in a dog, we received a call within 24 hours, letting us know what 'number' we were in line to visit/decide. All followed up until we completed our search.
While we only visited 1 foster mom, she was outstanding! There was no pressure, and she seemed to understand we needed to be sure it was the perfect fit. Luckily, it was, 1st puppy! and, oh, what a puppy we got - he's super smart and adorable, an amazing addition to our family - we couldn't be happier.
Awesome Paws adoption fee also included spade/neutering, which is a plus (and included chip placement).
I believe there's also a new program that if you're preapproved, you receive an early 'peek' at the upcoming adoptees, and that helps when they are all so adorable -
