Hello I am the Family Resource Coordinator for Bledsoe County Schools. Avalon Center has done so much for our students with their anti bullying classes, conflict resolution, and also helping teachers better understand how to deal with specific problems. I have never had a problem with them coming to our schools and speaking to the students. They are very professional and so kind with the little ones too. I appreciate their help so very much and they never ask for anything in return. They have also helped many abused women in their shelters and in everyday life. I am so thankful to have this organization in our area and a place for abused women and children to turn to.
Avalon Center has helped Stone Memorial HS by providing peer mentor training to our upperclassmen who mentor our at-risk Freshmen throughout the year. Avalon Center has facilitated the last three years of training our mentors on setting personal boundaries, the do's and don'ts when mentoring a peer, detecting and reporting domestic violence and abuse, and establishing a trusting relationship.
