Avaaz.org is doing a very good work in drawing attention to some very important matters like corruption of the elites, banksters impunity and Palestine cause, amongst others, with their online petition program. Though they are also supporting many mainstream ideas which are contradicted by latest scientific findings.

Mission: Avaaz has a simple democratic mission: to close the gap between the world we have, and the world most people everywhere want.
Programs: Global communitythe avaaz team supported its worldwide membership of approximately 40 million, generating over 63 million actions in 2014 including petition signatures, messages sent to political leaders and policymakers, phone calls, donations, event registrations, and pledges for other actions. In addition, the avaaz team supported tens of thousands of members to start their own actions using our online community petitions tool. Conservation and the environmentavaaz ran over 20 campaigns on conservation and environmental protection issues, with a focus on halting climate change and moving to 100% clean energy globally. Avaaz led a coalition of organisations for the peoples climate march ahead of the un meeting on climate change in september, mobilising citizens in more than 2,500 events in 162 countries and more than 400,000 marching in nyc alone, making it the largest mobilisation on climate change in history. Avaaz also campaigned to protect bees from extinction in both the us and europe; end deforestation in the amazon; and avaaz members came together to purchase a large tract of land connecting two orangutan reserves in borneo. Human rights and anti-corruptionavaaz ran over 30 campaigns on human rights, including campaigns calling for equal rights for lgbtq communities in russia and uganda, land rights for the maasai people in tanzania, fair and safe labour rights, and for womens rights around the world. Avaaz partnered with malala yousafzai and un education envoy gordon brown to help secure more than $100 million to put the children of syrian refugees back in school: avaaz members donated $1 million to the cause, and world governments matched the challenge at over 100:1. The avaaz community also granted more than $2 million in humanitarian aid funds to frontline organisations battling the ebola crisis in west africa. Avaaz ran more than 20 anti-corruption campaigns, targeting institutions like fifa and campaigning for laws against convicted criminals running for elected office in brazil. Avaaz also campaigned on media ownership and governance in the uk, and on tax laws and loopholes in many countries.
