Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Health

Mission: Autoimmune Registry, Inc., ARI, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit umbrella organization that provides a hub for research, statistics, and patient data on all autoimmune diseases. Since 2016 we have operated a database for patients who suffer from any autoimmune disease. Our mission is to reduce the time of diagnosis, support research, compute prevalence statistics, and establish autoimmune disease as a major class of disease so that it receives the awareness of the public, the attention of healthcare providers, and the appropriate funding needed to improve upon existing treatment protocols and disease management strategies. We also aim to become a trusted source where patients with these diseases can find credible, scientifically supported information about their diseases, promising treatments in the pipeline, and accurate prognosis insights. Whenever necessary, we will redirect patients to our patient advocacy groups for further resources and information.

The Autoimmune Registry brings attention to a number of ailments that are largely ignored by more mainstream organizations. My wife's Sjogrens Disease went undiagnosed for over ten years, and even today there are extremenly few medical organizations that provide some relef for this often debilitating condition. Our own hospital system, Lahey-Beth Isreal has no one familiar with Sjogrens. Fortunetely we have access to Tufts Dental School which does have a very small Sjogrens-kwowledge staff.

Thr ARI,I hope, will become a significant advocate for this and other ignored diseases that the more popular non-profits ignore

This organization has been so valuable as someone with a newly developed chronic disease/disability. I’ve learned so much about my conditions, research and treatments. The best thing is it’s accessible and not behind a paywall which means I can access much needed information to help me navigate and I can share with others suffering.
