Causes: Disaster Aid, Disaster Preparedness & Relief Services
Mission: Adrn's mission is to glorify christ by equipping, empowering, and mobilizing a network of churches to respond to the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those affected by disaster (luke 10:25-37, ephesians 4:12-16. )
Programs: In 2017, adrn's network of churches and volunteers responded to nearly 100 small disaster incidents, helping hundreds of individuals and families impacted by disaster (house and apartment fires, small flood and tornado incidents) and provided emotional, spiritual and physical care to over 21,000 survivors impacted by hurricane harvey, the nations largest disaster in u. S. History. Adrn was asked by the city of austin to manage donations for hurricane harvey survivors receiving over 4,500 pallets worth of goods, supplies, clothing and more by thousands of austinites. Over 200 semi's worth of goods were shipped to 32 cities across southeast texas and over 200,000 lbs of disaster supplies and emergency goods were flown in by plane. Adrn coordinated over 6,700 volunteers through clean-up, emotional & spiritual care, chaplaincy, warehousing, donor management and much more. Adrn's call center became a vital component of the disaster response, experiencing over 20,000 in-bound and out-bound calls, assisting survivors with emotional and spiritual care and information for volunteers and donors. Adrn's thrift store provided clothing, shoes, linens, undergarments, and much more to over 2,400 survivors. Adrn is working closely with christian aid ministries and c. A. R. E. In the rebuilding/repairing of homes in beaumont, port arthur and rockport areas. Adrn has funded executive salaries for the lagrange and port arthur long-term recovery teams to help establish long-term care quickly for thousands of families impacted by disaster. Adrn's goal is to work through the local church in disaster impacted areas and fund behind their disaster response efforts to the community to ensure that every man, woman and child receives immediate assistance to get them back into a clean and safe home/apartment and by providing emotional and spiritual care. To date, adrn has helped 126 families get back into either a clean and safe home, apartment, mobile home or trailer and assisted hundreds of families with other emergency items such as emergency transportation, financial aid, disaster goods and supplies, and much more.
adrn has an extensive training program for volunteers to empower them to become physically, emotionally & spiritually ready. Adrn offers 19 training classes in disaster response, of which 16 are free. Adrn's 2017 training attendance was over 2100 at over 151 locations throughout the greater austin area. 2017 trainings included community emergency response team (cert) training, critical incident stress management (cism) training, cpr/first aid/aed, preparedness peace for individuals and family preparedness.
