The atlanta police foundations (apf) operation shield program is comprised of a network of advanced technologies working in concert to multiply the effects of police procedures at the atlanta police department (apd). Operation shield has three separate components including: the integration of over 10,500 video surveillance cameras which are directly linked to atlantas 911 center via the citys video integration center (vic), electronic license plate readers, quad and pan tilt zoom cameras, as well as digital radios known as comnet that create an avenue for emergency managers and/or private security officers to communicate information to the atlanta police department in a timely and concise manner during times of need.

With more than 100 metro atlanta law enforcement agencies partnering in the program, csga empowers citizens to take a stand against crime in their communities. Csga provides an avenue for citizens to anonymously report information about criminal activity, or criminals whereabouts, and provides monetary rewards up to $2,000 if that information leads to an arrest and indictment. Since its inception in 2007, csga has resulted in more than 1340 arrests, 1700 cases cleared, 227 weapons recovered and $815,000 worth of narcotics recovered.
secure neighborhoods initiative: the atlanta police foundation (apf) founded a secure neighborhoods initiative to help improve public safety by engaging police with atlantas diverse communities through housing opportunities. Secure neighborhoods offers sworn atlanta police department (apd) officers affordable options and incentives to reside in some of atlantas most challenged neighborhoods and a pathway to homeownership. As apd officers become pillars of their communities, it increases the neighborhoods stability, capacity, and overall security. In 2016, the westside security plan created to efficiently direct public safety strategies and resources integrating crime control, crime reduction and neighborhood revitalization. Through the secure neighborhood initiative, 25 homes allocated for atlanta police officers. Of the 25 homes, 5 officers became homeowners in 2016, with an additional 10 homeowners in 2018.
