I have enjoyed every minute of time I have spent working with the Atlanta Grade School Friends. Each time I enter the doors and walk the halls, I recall my days of attending school there. We had the best teachers and I made lifelong friends at the school. I’m excited at the progress we are making to be able to utilize the school once again for events and educational opportunities. I remember vividly my first grade ( and all the other school years) at Miller Grade School. I started school there in 1947 with Miss Lenore Morris as my teacher . Each year brought with it wonderful learning experiences with my friends, many of whom have remained close lifelong friends. Growing up in small town Atlanta brings with it a different perspective than living in a big city and I think this happens to bring a closeness and shared feeling of wanting to keep our memories and to preserve this school because of the impact it has made on those who attended .
As I toured the school and noted the work done and the effort, time and money spent revamping and renovating the school, I was amazed and grateful. The building is beautiful, but more than that the cause is one that will preserve the history of Miller Grade School.
Miller Grade School holds many wonderful memories of teachers and friends. Today, as I walk the halls of Miller Grade, these memories come to life and make me smile.
The future plans for Miller Grade School will give our city a nice venue for events, as well as restoring a piece of local history.

As a longtime advocate of historic preservation, I worked with local and state non-profits early on to save the grade school building. While I no longer live in the Atlanta community, I strongly support the work of Atlanta citizens taking the opportunity to return a classic, brick building to full, active use for the benefit of the entire community. The 1936 masonry structure with exterior Art Deco embellishments, has been resuscitated through the hard work and determination of a proud, long- dedicated Grade School Team of saviors. Atlanta can continue to reflect pride of place by helping with this outstanding project that reflects the determination of early Texans!

Love this cause and their project! Can't wait to see what the future holds for this historic school!
Thousands of children attended this school. I am happy to say, I am one of them. My experiences at Atlanta (Mller) Grade helped form my personality and readied me for life. Restoring the building we all loved affords me so much joy and gives me hope for its future. I gladly donate time and money to this cause. Our goal is to entice the community to get involved in this project and use the facility often.
Rabbit pride lives on at Atlanta MillerGrade School. It’s exciting to see it coming back to life. Hopefully everyone in Atlanta will get behind this project.
This historic property is coming alive. Drawings and plans to move forward with the infrastructure are nearing completion and wok will begin soon. It’s very exciting for the community and school alumni.

The work by the Atlanta Grade School Friends to restore the Atlanta Grade School in nothing short of amazing. The project is really taking shape and those involved donate a tremendous amount of time making sure every detail is dealt with. The building has been made structurally sound and very clean for a construction site. I applaud the effort and looking forward to seeing the progress to come

Thanks for being such a great volunteer. We are #grateful.
It is a privilege for me to serve in the board of Atlanta Grade School Friends. Just seeing former students walk through the doors, and observe their reaction to the building itself is priceless. It was a golden time in our lives. Besides the emotional connection, the future plans are more important. Our town is in desperate need of a community building which Atlanta Grade School will provide.
I am so grateful for the work of this group of hardworking friends of the school.

I have had the privilege of working with AGSF on several fund raising events! They dedicated and hard working for sure. It’s amazing the improvements that have been made at the school!!
What an impressive effort, not only to save and refurbish the building but will serve the community.
Such an incredible group committed to a worthy cause which supports a history and legacy of education.
A lot of hard work has gone into this project but a lot more needs to be done. It’s looking good so far. Keep up the good work!

It’s very thrilling to see this special place being preserved! It holds a place in my heart that is hard to describe. These friends have worked with such dedication to bring this precious place back to life! It is such a worthy project. I have so many memories from Miller Grade! It was the beginning of my 12 years of education in the Atlanta school system. I treasure the lifelong friendships made there and the wonderful teachers I experienced in grades 1-4. I pray this effort can be rewarded as it continues to completion!

So thrilled with the progress made thru generous donations and diligent, hard work of our supporters over the last few years! What a difference!! Atlanta Miller Grade School is a jewel for our community that is beginning to shine again! (Note today and 5 years ago pictures!!)
This project will have a positive impact on this community and the surrounding area. It will provide an important multipurpose facility with meeting rooms, indoor and outdoor areas for weddings and/or receptions, and, in the future with adequate funding, a banquet hall for large gatherings. This type of facility is greatly needed in this area.
On a personal level, this school was the beginning of a bright future. The teachers, administrators, and the life long friends I made at this school mean more to me than words can express.
