Mission: The atlanta bar foundation supports atlanta bar association charitable projects that assist youth, provide pro bono legal services, promote public understanding of the law, and promote higher education through scholarships. The foundation has established an annual grant application program to assist local pro bono legal service providers in their struggle to obtain adequate funding.
Programs: Funding to the atlanta bar association summer law internship program provides mentoring and summer employment to high school students, the majority of whom are minorities and from disadvantaged backgrounds. The program introduces the students to the legal profession and the practice of law, provides summer employment and mentoring to ensure success in their summer job and in future employment, encourages them to go to college to achieve their individual goals and provides mentoring to assist them in this process.
funds are provided to the atlanta volunteer lawyer's foundation which provides legal representation, education and advocacy for at-risk, low income individuals through volunteer legal professionals who are committed to meeting the unmet civil legal needs of the atlanta community.
funds from the atlanta bar association lawyer referral and information service are given by the atlanta bar foundation to atlanta-area pro bono legal service organizations to provide free legal services to low income citizens in atlanta.
