Mission: The Athens YMCA is the third oldest in the country - founded on March 26, 1857. Its strength lies in its mission - to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Athens Y staff and volunteers work daily to ensure that values such as caring, respect, honesty and responsibility are instilled into our youth. Our vision is to be the organization that brings people together and nurtures their potential to effect lasting, meaningful individual and community change.
