This is an amazing and unique nonprofit organization that supports high school girls and non-gender conforming students by providing workshops on a host of important topics, such as college preparation, writing skills, careers in tech, domestic violence, sexual health, and mental health. We have 40-60 girls attend after school workshops each week and we have many girls who stay involved with this nonprofit throughout all four years of high school. Outside of the workshops, Athena's Warehouse also offers mentorships, college resume editing, and college scholarships which aid in many of our students becoming first generation college students.
This is a very local, very hard-working nonprofit that I admire. Athena's Warehouse is devoted to its home community surrounding Cross Keys HS, in a mixed-income area of metro Atlanta. They are holistic in their approach to nurturing leaders -- they provide scholarship funds, prom outfits, well-rounded personal development curriculum, and a safe space for growth to working-class girls of color.
I got to know their current executive director, Deanna Parker, in ~2018 when she was organizing a community mutual aid program, working as an aide at our state Capitol, and who knows what else she was juggling too. She was a former student participant in AW's programs and she's now leading the organization, very much involved in the daily work. I donate to Athena's Warehouse on a recurring basis (autopay for the win, set it and forget it), and would like for more good people to know about and support them.
When you meet the high school girls in Athena's Warehouse at Cross Keys High School you want to give them the world. They are engaged with speakers and activities and really want to do well in life but just need a little guidance or access to resources. Not only does Athena's Warehouse encourage self-sufficiency and professional development the organization provides relaxation and mental health spaces and resources. The girls come from low-income foreign-born families and live in stressful times recovering their grades from covid and learning how to do school again without laptops. The organization boots the girls' self-esteem and morale through a variety of activities and workshops.
Athena's Warehouse is a great organization that is dedicated in providing quality support and guidance to their students!
We love working with Dia and the Athena's Warehouse team. They bring immense value to our community.
Athena's Warehouse is a great organization that is helping bridge the gap between high school and college for the female students at Cross Keys High School. The staff at Athena's Warehouse are working diligently to provide access to more equitable education while also empowering these young girls into confident leaders!

Athenas Warehouse is a outstanding organization. They helped my daughter and me learn what it means to be a community of care. At the time I was working and had no idea how to help my daughter get into college. She came home one day with a sheet of paper that explained all about Athenas Warehouse. They wanted her to participate in a class that would show her how to apply to the colleges she wanted to attend. They also had a group of ladies who had put together a beautiful ,adorable assortment of prom dresses, and wanted my daughter to pick one to wear to the prom. Athenas Warehouse showed us what love your neighbor really means. Service to youth and community is not an easy task, but thank God they do it. My daughter has graduated college and is now back in school to get her master's. Athenas Warehouse has helped our young ladies earn scholarships for college. Empowered them to become leaders, teach them to stand up for what they know is right, to love and respect themselves and others, to be strong in the face of adversity. I support Athenas Warehouse and you should to because they care enough to do something for our children. Thank you to Ms. Bee Nguyen and my daughter Ms. Dia Parker and her Team for all the Love and hard work.
Athena’s warehouse is a great nonprofit that has significantly impacted my life and I love it so much that I’ve been a member since 2018. The workshops have been very helpful for me and have taught me a lot about self-esteem, body image, racism, healthy relationships, and many more important topics. Over the years I’ve earned two scholarships from Athena’s Warehouse and they have significantly helped with covering my college costs. I also interned for them and now I am working with them part time as their outreach coordinator. I wouldn’t be at my dream college if it wasn’t with the help of Athena’s Warehouse and Dia Parker. Dia Parker is the director of Athena’s Warehouse but also my mentor. I know that she, along with the rest of the leadership team, works really hard to make sure that Athena’s Warehouse accomplishes its goal of empowering and educating its participants.
Remarkable trauma-informed space for youth that offers holistic wellness programs!!! Athena's Warehouse understands the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and childhood trauma, so they work to foster positive relationships and a sense of belonging to help mitigate the harmful and bad and help youth learn how to bounce back and thrive.
Their programs have elements that youth-serving organizations seeking to be more trauma-informed should consider implementing. Their self-discovery, social issue awareness, and life skills workshops help generate discovery, resiliency skills, improve self-esteem, and build collective healing (sisterhood) within youth.
Athena's Warehouse has incredible leadership and programs that serve women and non-binary people in Atlanta. They have a proven track record for their incredible programs and their work is essential! It's a wonderful nonprofit to support.
