This review comes with the utmost praises to At The Well Conference. Their work with minority young women caught my attention through the Leadership Academy. I scraped, clawed, and fundraised to have my African American daughter to attend their summer program 2013. I knew she was guaranteed an experience that would speak to her intellectual capcity and social context to enhance her self-esteem as a human being. Excitingly, prior to attending the camp she wanted to be a lawyer; after attending the camp she now wants to be a math teacher. Now due to her adolescence, I am sure this may change again. Though, I do not minimize the reason for her change in career options. This is an exemplary reflection of how At The Well Conference capitalizes on instilling career goals and values in my daughter that consider various ways to serve our greater society in order to infect, effect, and affect positive change. It is my goal to fund another young lady in the program for next summer even if my daughter chooses not to attend again. My daughter's ONLY reason for not attending again..."Daddy, I wouldn't want to go again, so I can leave room for another girl to experience what I experienced!" -- Rev. William Moses Summerville, MDiv.
At The Well Conferences Inc is the best thing to happen for the development of our young women who are our future. This organization is successful in so many areas of a young growing woman's life. They provide nourishment in all of the areas that build a virtuous woman. They provide support in education, self esteem, etiquette, building relationships, encouragement and the knowledge that young women need to succeed in life. I watched my daughter grow into a decisive and confident young lady during and after attending the At The Well Conference. She now has so much diligence in accomplishing goals that she has set for herself as a result of attending the At The Well Conference. At The Well Conference helped her with taking her SATs and opened up her choices for attending college. This is a very big deal for her since she was entertaining the idea of joining the armed services. I am extremely grateful and so very blessed to have my daughter awarded the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful experience. At The Well Conference is an awesome organization!
At The well Young Women's Leadership Academy is an extraordinary program. ATW is one of the only Ivy League summer leadership academies for minority students. I wish I knew about a program like ATW when I was in High School. The students that attend the program are intelligent, hard-working future leaders of America. The stress on education importance, leadership and transferable skills are some important components of the program. The students are not only leaving the academy with SAT preparation but also obtaining life long lessons. ATW is an amazing opportunity and it is my hope to spread the word to everyone.
