Programs: Members, foreign service and community: the association provides support to foreign service personnel and their families, builds a community in which they enjoy shared interests, gives members a stronger voice when working on common concerns, and fosters global connections. As of june 30, 2017, the association had 520 members.

With increased communication, the association provides much needed support to the foreign service community.
scholarships and awards: the association contributes funds to the american foreign service association scholarship program. Additionally, the association administers its own merit scholarship awards. The association also established and continues to administer and select the recipients for the secretary of state's "award for outstanding volunteerism abroad. "
