Mission: To assist low-income and non-english speaking taxpayer who are either in controversy with the internal revenue service or need assistance in filing. Further, ara informed and educated taxpayers of filing requirements and where additional assistance could be obtained. The secondary missions is for alaska athletic alliance (a program of ara)is teach, mentor and coach individuals football techniques, fundamentals and skills to every athlete while promoting academic excellence in order to advance to the next level of play. We develop leadership stressing positive attitudes, work ethic, personal pride and responsibility. Our goal is to improve the student/athlete through hard work, discipline and sportsmanship. Additionally, to educate both student/athlete and parent on the college requirements and recruitment process.
Programs: The first is a vita (volunteer income tax assistance) program that prepares tax returns for low income, elderly, military and disabled. In addition to volunteers assist in representation matters for collections and other matters. The second program is football camp, which is a program designed to assist teens interested in playing football by providing them with volunteer experienced coaches and trainers. The program then assists them in competition with other football teams.
