I am the mom of a 16 yr old who has Asperger's. This site has been invaluable to me, my son and our entire family. Aspergers101.com is FULL of objective information, advice, and resources to help us on a variety of topics. Too often websites are focused on one aspect of autism vs another - but this site is comprehensive and speaks to all of our needs. Even better, it is constantly being refreshed to offer the latest and greatest information. Thank you for bringing us Aspergers101.com!!
I am an Educational Diagnostician and a behavior specialist. I am also Sam's 'Uncle John'. Seeing Sam progress over the years and learning to overcome and adapt our world to his and visa-versa has and continues to amaze me. I know first hand the problems students have trying to cope in a "normal" school because I have worked with all levels of autism as well as any other designated disability for almost 40 years. Aspergers 101 provides solid information from experts in the field, parents of autistic individuals, and probably the most important source, the individual with autism. If you know a parent, individual, or a teacher who has hands on face to face interaction with individuals with autism, then this is the site you need to share with them to have a positive change in their life.

Particularly liked these articles on love and acceptance. When we received diagnosis we drove home (where our son was being cared for) wondering whether he would have grown horns or something similar. It is that whole process of expectation, and then acceptance of something quite different. Thank you for this website.
Our office houses the advisory board meetings for Aspergers101 and I've been able to learn more about Autism Awareness and Aspergers Syndrome from it's President, Jennifer Allen. I am the mother of a 6 year old son with Aspergers and the aunt to my 16 year old nephew with Aspergers. After assessing myself, there's a high possibility I have Aspergers as well. This page has amazing information and has helped tremendously. The main misconception people have about Aspies is the lack of empathy. In my personal experience, I see an excessive amount of empathy. I don't want people to read things and think that people with Aspergers are incapable of caring or emotions because that is completely false.
I have fond this website to be a great place to go for more information on autism. Anyone needing help with information to raise a child on the spectrum, this site is a must.
Invaluable information. I had no idea of the scope of work available and recommended for patients. There is so much professional work available.
Is there somewhere on this site to ask a question? I have a 27 year old son who has a good job. He has decided to quit and travel Europe on his own for 3 months. He has a hard time with directions, won't speak to strangers, won't even look us in the eye when talking. I am worried sick about this. Any suggestions or where I can post about this?
Wonderful website full of information and resources for a better understanding of Asperger's Syndrome. Great job.
Thank you for taking the time to create such an amazing and wealth of informational site. It truly makes a difference.
I have Aspergers Syndrome and I find this website very helpful. I sometimes write blogs on this site and hope it helps others like me. I think of Autism as a gift and not an impediment. Aspergers101 shows Autism in the light it should be....positive!
The amazing people collaborating on this site offer expertise that usually comes with a price. However this site is free to anyone needing to better themselves or their children by way of knowledge. Aspergers Syndrome can be a mystery until you understand how the brain is literately wired differently. Once you understand the results of a different yet beautiful mind your child possesses you can then direct them on an amazing journey that you are privileged enough to be a part of. Aspergers101 was created to assist mothers with such information and that makes it's contributors....priceless!
