Education changes lives not only for boys and girls in school, but for the entire community!
Pay if forward with Asante Africa!
Our junior high school son took an interest in Africa after a speaker came to his school to discuss the plight of children in Uganda This was the first time he truly understood that not every child has the chance to go school to learn and play in a safe environment. For the first time, he decided to take action and do what he could to make a difference for other children. Erna Grasz and I worked together early in our career and knew about her work in Africa. We invited her to dinner and her passion and enthusiasm rubbed off on the entire family. Our son and his friends raised over $2000in a few short weeks just by word of mouth throughout his school! We have supported Asante Africa for 10+ years and have seen first hand what can be accomplished through education in a safe and secure. The hallmark of Asante Africa programs is "Pay it Forward." This approach has provided boys and girls with the leadership and entrepreneurial skills needed to help their communities thrive; and the ability to mentor the younger children in the their villages. As a result of hard work, passion, and commitment Asante Africa has impacted over 300,000 lives in just 10 years. Asante Africa students have mastered technology, become college students and business owners, but more importantly, they have become respected leaders and teachers in their community so that others can also excel.
I've worked with Asante Africa Foundation as an advisor for more than ten years. I've traveled to East Africa in support of the work in country. I can not say enough great things about the impact on lives of the Youth touched by Asante Africa Foundation programs. Watching a young woman, in a very difficult environment, given the opportunity to stay in school - they seize the opportunity and thrive. It's truly transformative for the young people AND their families.
It's important to speak about the high integrity of the organization. The attention to ethics at every step from the CEO to the staff in country to the youth they serve is second to none.
I'm very proud to recommend Asante Africa Foundation to anyone looking for a great non-profit with heart, brains and character.
I first learned about Asante Africa through our company years ago. I was immediately impressed with the vision and mission of the organization and how Asante has impacted the lives of children in Africa. Our firm has donated funds to Asante and it's been very meaningful to hear how those dollars are used to change lives and make a real impact across the world--there was latrine project we helped fund (girls are particularly disadvantaged by a lack of clean and safe latrines which provide some privacy as this prevents them from attending school during menstruation). To hear how this gift really changed their lives, allowing them to attend school and gain the education they need to succeed and build their future was truly inspiring. Not only does our firm donate to this cause, but I personally donate because I fully support this program and all the Asante does.
I've worked with Erna in numerous occasions and she is just amazing. She is very knowledgeable and such a great leader.
My family and organization have worked with Asante for more than 10 years. We've had the great fortune of supporting the organization and have also been supported by them. We've heard from speakers and leaders from within the organization and from Africa and have always felt a deeply personal relationship with them and the impact being made. We look forward to many more years of partnering together.
I am most passionate about education of young children in the most unprivileged part of the world. I truly believe that helping young children in undeveloped parts of the world get education will solve the biggest fundamental problems we are facing now such as the poverty, war, and human rights. Asante is one of the non-profits with passionate members doing a wonderful job and making a difference in the world.
I have experienced first hand, the hardworking and dedicated staff and volunteers associated with this organization. Here in North America, in Kenya and Tanzania this group of wonderfully talented people work tirelessly to create opportunities for better futures for these youth. I have all faith that they are making a big difference and it will only continue to grow.
I have been a volunteer and donor with Asante Africa Foundation for over 2 years. I have found it to be an excellent organization, grounded in key philosophical beliefs and amazingly efficient on support of impressive services to young people in rural Tanzania and Kenya. I have had a lifetime of career service to nonprofit organizations and have chosen to give my time to Asante in my retirement years.
I've been involved with Asante Africa Foundation for 8 years as a volunteer, & 7 as a board member. I have so much respect for the work, which is respectful of local expertise and culture, not about "fixing" problems or handouts. It's about empowering youth to be the change they want to see in their world. Our earliest scholars are now graduating from university or starting their own businesses, and paying it forward by sponsoring younger students & continuing to volunteer.
I have sponsored the education of two different students, & recently wrote a blog post about the difference this makes in their lives. https://asanteafrica.org/unscripted-and-unstoppable/
I've always been impressed with the organization's focus on results and transparency. Every year they continue to improve their monitoring & evaluation, so they can demonstrate to current & prospective donors the magnitude of the positive impact they're having on the lives of those they serve. Their beneficiaries are also taught to "pay it forward," and we are seeing that they become donors as they matriculate and become producing members of society. I'm extremely proud of the work we do, of the individuals involved in that work, and of the students who carry it forward. They truly are the change agents who are transforming the future for their communities.
We have been donors for a dozen years, witnessing Asante's impressive leadership and growth. I am most impressed by the huge impact generated for each dollar of donation. The pay-it-forward activities performed by the attendees of LEI , for example, change the lives of thousands of impoverished children, opening the door to achieve higher education and successful careers and lives. I feel honored to be part of this process.
We have supported both a primary school (for 7 years) and a scholarship for girls (for 3 years) in Kenya. The Asante Foundation folks have been great about providing information about each, and their regular checking-in with the students and their families is valuable to keep the students focused and to head off any issues early. Administratively they are really efficient, so that a huge percentage of our contributions go to the students and schools we are targeting. They were also extremely helpful in arranging visits when we were in Nairobi, and I have been impressed with their follow up on every query.
We have been contributing to Asante Africa for about 10 years. We like knowing they are organized and provide both scholarships and challenges to the students.
We were able to meet the young woman whose school fees we pay. She is smart, hardworking, kind and thoughtful. Anderson, the Asante Africa coordinator in that region accompanied us to the meeting. We were very impressed with the connection he had with our student, and his helping her to make longer term goals. She is very grateful and so are her sister and mother. It’s very rewarding to know we are making a difference in a family.
AAF is an incredibly well-run organization that places a heavy emphasis on outcome. It uses monitoring and evaluation strategies to measure its effectiveness and adapts its strategies according. It’s community-run model ensures that it’s programs are implemented with cultural sensitivity and local context. 5 stars to AAF!
Asante Africa really understands development efforts by stepping back and allowing local leaders to manage their projects and to set goals for education in rural East Africa! As a nonprofit that is volunteer-based, it is impressive that they are able to provide the kind of support in areas of funding, marketing and communications, and events.
I had the opportunity to work with Asante Africa in Tanzania last summer. It was great to meet the fantastic people on their team and see all the amazing work they are doing. Everyone in the organization is so passionate and really making a difference.
Excellent organization. I was lucky enough to see their work in person on my past trip to East Africa. They are making a difference in areas that need it the most.
I have been with Asante Africa Foundation (AAF) for the past one year as a Kenyan volunteer working with the US team. It has been quite an incredible opportunity for me. I have learnt a lot and amassed skills such as good communication skills, value of team work and importance of adhering to strict timelines. As an East African, I am humbled by their great cause of ensuring that every child gets quality education and championing the next generation of change agents. It gives me satisfaction being part of this great team that is committed to service and empowering the youth in rural East Africa. The organization comes highly recommended. Thanks!
Asante Africa is a wonderful organization that is making a strong impact in the lives of youth in East Africa. Everyone in the organization cares deeply about the mission of the organization. Asante Africa continues to touch the lives of so many people by educating and growing new change agents that will make the world a better place.
Asante Africa Foundation deserves on my point of view more than 5 stars. A nonprofit that helps youth to get an education and have changed so many lives should be recognized in the whole world. Everyone who works and volunteers at Asante that I know has a beautiful heart and they give all they have to make an impact in so many lives. This nonprofit is an example of how we all have a space in the world to make a little difference if you have a few minutes or a few hours to help your time is valued and appreciated.
I have helped at the last Spring event the "Spring on the Serengeti" and I couldn't be more grateful for being part of. while meeting Albert (alumni of Asante) and getting to know more about his story and how is his life is in Africa was terrific.
Fantastic organization with high energy and efficient team. I donate and will continue to do so for the amazing work they do!
Asante Africa is committed to educating youth in East Africa so that they can be confidently prepared for the future. It's gratifying to see their efforts bear fruit through the videos, blog posts and notes from the field. One can tell that the volunteers and staff are really passionate about the mission and committed to improving lives.
The results speak for themselves. Read the 5 year outcome study on LEI and see for yourself how powerful the program is. https://asanteafrica.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/LEI-5YR-outcome-study.docx..pdf
Amazing organization to work with. They are extremely passionate about bringing positive change to kids and changing their lives through quality education
I have volunteered with Asante Africa for almost ten years - including seeing how powerful their work is in changing lives in Kenya and Tanzania - and it ripples out and forward as the young leaders themselves keep spreading what they are learning
I highly endorse this amazing organization. I am a new volunteer and donor. On a recent trip to Kenya and Tanzania I had the privilege of meeting some of the students who have been the beneficiaries of this organization and are now acting on the organization's value of ...passing it forward. Having been a professional trainer/consultant/facilitator for nonprofits, internationally, my entire career, I found Asante to be the organization having just what I was looking for so that I would not retire but rather get re-fired. I look forward to partnering with Asante as they endeavor to accomplish their impressive 2020 goals. I have a feeling they will accomplish them and more!
Since 2007, when I knew Asante Africa Foundation, I have never regret to why I decided to join them because, the team in the global are transparent and always do what they promises. Kids who are real needs education has been supported by this organization soo much. I will tell all my friends about this organization whenever I meets any because I believe we can transform the world by educating our kids.
Any one who would like to support this organization please, don't hesitate to do so.
Dennis Lyamuya from Tanzania.
I have learnt a lot from this organization. Joined it and felt at home and meet so many people who have the aim of transforming lives positively.
I became part of Asante Africa, in May 2017 as a salesforce admin. Even though my work here don't have a direct impact on the many wonderful projects Asante Africa undertook in African Nations, handling the data and the back work gave me an understanding of the works being done and how its impacting the life of children.
This is my fourth year of volunteering with Asante Africa. The experience I gained from here helped open doors for me to secure a doctoral fellowship. It has been a privilege seeing the organization's and its people's growth.
I have been volunteering with Asante Africa Foundation since 2013 and have enjoyed every moment of it. I joined Asante as an HR coordinator and over the three years, I have had opportunities to grow both as a person and as an HR professional. Every time I read stories from the field, I realize how privileged I am to be a part of something that is greater than myself.
I wish the entire team at Asante the very best in working towards the mission.
Asante Africa is a great no profit! I love the dedication of the organization. In April I was in Africa and had the chance to see their work firsthand. It was so inspirational talking to the students and community members about how Asante Africa has changed their lives.
It's just the beginning of journey with Asante Africa Foundation and I'm really impressed with the staff/volunteers dedication and commitment towards philanthropy. I am so fortunate to be a part of such an awesome organization.
Asante Africa Foundation is a great humanitarian organization that is giving hope to children from marginalized regions in East Africa to have access to quality education. Working as SEO volunteer, I realized that Asante Africa Foundation has a selfless, committed and social team willing to help individuals grow as you work with them.
While living in Narok, I encountered several individuals who are beneficiaries of Asante Africa. It is amazing to realize that Asante Africa is in the front-line in impacting positively the next generation through scholarships and Leadership and Entrepreneurship Incubator (LEI).
