Mission: Active support of the arts.
Programs: It shall be the purpose of the council to facilitate scheduling, provide information, encourage activities and broaden the base of active support of the arts in the community. The council does this primarily in three areas: arts education, arts and crafts exhibits, and performances. Free arts education programming is provided year-round to individuals ages 13-18 and hosts around 600 participants per year. Students who use the program control it through a teen advisory council that meets monthly to develop classes, evaluate programming and produce promotional materials. . This program includes an annual pendleton free rock and roll camp in which 100 teens participate. Additional free programming has been instituted for youth aged 5-12 consisting of weekly saturday morning and monday evening sessions. Adult evening classes are also offered year round in six week instructional sessions. The pendleton center for the arts contains two exhibition galleries in which 11 admission-free exhibits are presented per year. Each exhibit is accompanied by a formal opening and artist's reception during which free food and beverages are served.
