Mission: To encourage, support and facilitate artistic opportunities within the communities of north tarrant county.
Programs: In 2017, arts council northeast provided over 53 free masterworks concerts throughout the year with 9,554 in attendance. This program employs local and regional talent in addition to contributing to the local economy as people who attend the concerts frequently patronize local restaurants either before or after the concerts. Many attendees told our emcee how much they enjoyed, looked forward to and appreciated the concerts.
sub-granting - in 2017, the arts council granted $50,000 to 24 local non-profit organizations and individuals. This unique granting program gives organizations and individuals the opportunity to bring art related programs to their communitites. A total of 113,310 people benefited from this program including 70,511 children and 5,059 people with disabilities.
summer arts college is a unique opportunity for children ages 6-16 to learn with some of the area's top artists. Students receive a taste of the performing and visual arts. In 2017, 256 full or partial scholarships were offered so no child was turned away. The 2017 program had 302 students. The arts council partnerd with the community enrichment center, the gatehouse and grace on scholarships for children living in their facilities or utilizing their services. City of hurst also partnered with the program.
the art on wheels program brings art to individuals who are unable to attend art classes outside their living environment. They partnered with two locations, an assisted living and a memory care facility. The instructors provide step-by-step instructions and at the end of the class, the participants each have their own work of art that they created to keep and treasure.
