Mission: Art colony association provides art experiences and education for the greater houston community by bringing diverse artists to urban bayou city art festivals and supports local non-profit organizations.
Programs: Bayou city art festival memorial park is held each year in late march in houston's memorial park. The festival is built on 2 inner loops surrounded by trees, foliage and picnic areas. The park is 5 miles from downtown and 2 miles from the famous galleria area. The festival is the only public event held in the park other than the rodeo access. Shuttle rides make transportation to and from the festival easy and convenient. The festival featured 300 juried local, national and international artists with a paid attendance of over 18,000. Approximately $52,000 in donations were presented to our charity partners.
bayou city art festival downtown is held each year during the 2nd weekend of october. The downtown skyline serves as a dramatic background for art, music, interactive activities and a creative zone for children. The festival is showcased in hermann square, sam houston park, library plaza, tranquility park and city hall. The festival features 300 juried local, national and international artists with a paid attendance of 15,000. Approximately $43,000 in donations were presented to our charity partners.
