Causes: Education, Scholarships, Scholarships & Student Financial Aid
Mission: To support foster and indigent familes at times of crisis or need by providing to them basic essentials such as bedding, clothes, personal effects, holiday and special occasion toys, school supplies and emergency assistance.
Programs: Annual toy drive - to ensure all underprivileged children in maricopa county receive at least one holiday toy. Distributed over 180,000 new toys and other items to foster children and other needy children.
helping hands for foster kids, arizona helping hands provides beds, cribs, clothing, diapers and more to foster children in arizona. Licensed and kinship (relative) placements are eligible for services. There are more than 18,000 children in the department of child safety system, and arizona helping hands is the only arizona charity that supplies these items to families who #standup to care for these kids. In the fiscal year, we provided services to 1,702 children in foster care and gave 978 boys and girls new beds and cribs, a safe place to for them to sleep.
birthday dreams for foster kids, arizona helping hands provides a personalized gift wrapped birthday package to children in the department of child safety system. Gifts are provided directly to foster parents, and to licensed caseworkers to celebrate a child's special day that may otherwise go unnoticed. This program commenced in february, 2015 and has already made birthdays special to hundreds of children.
crisis support programs - provided basic needs to individuals in need due to unemployment, fire, health and other issues. Provided toiletries and personal care items to the homeless, distributed clothing to underpriveleged.
