We adopted the very first rescued beagle in Jan. 2002 from arizonabeaglerescue.org. Her name was Scout but we changed it to Jennie. Jennie was 3 years old when we got her and she lived to 14 years old. When our sweet Jennie went over the rainbow bridge June 3, 2013 we rescued a 9 year old beagle from AZBR. These older beagles still have plenty of life in them and people should quit shying away from them because they're "older".
We now have had our Lola Mae a year and 4 months and she's a sweetheart. Come on beagle "lovers" rescue these "older" beagles, they need you so much!

I got involved with AZBR in 2011 when I adopted my own beagle, Benna, who they rescued from the shelter. This is an organization that does great work, and I started volunteering with them, helping with paperwork and organizing foster paperwork.

I love seeing all the happy beagles and happy adopters when we find a beagle a fur-ever home!

I love the AZBR they help Beagles find homes and do whatever it takes to keep them safe. They keep people informed and educated. When I am ready to adopt again it will be with AZBR.

When my previous beagle was diagnosed with cancer, I knew I needed a friend to keep her company, lift her spirits, and help me through the transition I knew was coming. I was at Starbucks one day and saw the little slips on the wall with contact info for the AZ beagle rescue. I grabbed one, called it, and before I knew it, I was fostering. I knew really early on I would be keeping my foster beagle; she was a perfect fit! My first beagle, Ally, lived about a year and a half after I got Luna. Luna reminds me so much of Ally and she now has a weenie dog brother. AZ Beagle Rescue helped me heal, saved a beagle and gave her a loving home, and allowed my dachshund to have an amazing sister. Support their beagle fest every year; it is a great experience!

Two years ago my daughters and I helped out with over 20 beagles that had been brought to Arizona by the Arizona Beagle Rescue from a puppy mill in Missouri. Those poor dogs had been badly mistreated. We fed, bathed and gave lots of love to those dogs. These dogs did not even know what to do with a dog treat. I have never seen anything like it. The Arizona Beagle Rescue took care of those dogs, provided medical treatment and made sure they went to loving homes. They are truly amazing.
