2,752 Older adults and adults with disabilities received services through AAASWFL State and Federally funded programs.
These services include:
- 102,236 hours of homemaker services
- 128,499 hours of respite assistance
- 52, 673 hours of personal care
- 340,256 home-delivered and congregate meals
- 18,596 transportation trips
Target demographics: Older adults (60+), adults with disabilities, and their caregivers
Geographic areas served: Charlotte, Collier, Desoto, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Sarasota Counties in Florida
Programs: Supportive services, like meals, homemaking, personal care and transportation to help seniors to remain in their own homes;
unbiased, personalized Medicare assistance;
respite relief for family caregivers;
health and wellness initiatives for seniors, caregivers, and people with disabilities;
information, referral, and eligibility determination for Medicaid waiver programs;
emergency home energy assistance;
veteran-directed home and community based services;
elder abuse prevention initiatives, and more.
AAASWFL is responsible for managing state and federal funding for the above programs, distributing funds to local service providers, and monitoring these providers for quality assurance.
