Brenda Ramer is a scam artist who made a stingray suffer for publicity. She also called the cops on a REAL scientist who came to see if the stingray was really "pregnant" after she kicked him out for paying. This is a SIDESHOW NOT AN ACCREDITED AQUARIUM.
Aquarium and Shark Lab is a great place to learn all about reptiles and marine life. There is always something new to explore and see! You don’t want to miss out on a great adventure.

Team ECCO is an amazing resource for our community! We value their partnership with our school system and are so appreciative of the learning opportunities they provide for our students. Visiting the Team ECCO Aquarium is a cherished experience for our students and they look forward to these field trips every year!
Cannot believe this GEM is in our little town!!!! The opportunity they provide for youth to volunteer, grow and learn is absolutely amazing. AND such a fun and super educational and interactive place for ALL to visit. My kids, grand kids, nieces and nephews LOVE! One of a kind aquarium!!!!!
This is a must see! The aquarium provides such a wonderful, informative and interactive place for kids to get to meet all types of animals up close and personal. We have a fabulous time every time we visit! It’s great for any and all ages.
Our community is fortunate to have an inland aquarium right in our downtown district. The education programs available to the community are amazing and unlike any offered elsewhere in the country. Local children, like my teenage daughter, have the opportunity to volunteer and learn about marine and reptilian science. I encourage everyone to visit the aquarium and see what an amazing place we have in Hendersonville
Became involved over 10 years ago when my daughter started volunteering then became a paid intern and still active even though she has moved on. This nonprofit works with special needs children/adults on a regular basis as volunteers and teaches them many skills. They also offer many class programs at the center and go to off site locations as needed to teach about the ocean and it’s importance Houses many species of fish and several reptiles. The founder keeps it current and growing every year
The ECCO Aquarium and Shark Lab came to my library to present for our summer reading program "Oceans of Possibilities." What an amazing presentation!!! Brenda Ramer is an incredible educator and her assistant, Dom, was also extremely engaged and kind. The children in attendance loved every second. The manipulatives ranged from models to shells/skeletons to live animals - and the kids were allowed to handle them all (with care). The discussion was lively and fun and I cannot wait to invite Team ECCO back for another program.
Who would have thought that you would have found such a great teaching aquarium in the mountains of North Carolina. The facilities are great, the staff was helpful and professional, and the marine life really brought the oceans to life. I couldn't recommend this more for families in the area or just traveling through. The owner Brenda is one of a kind. Trust me, you will remember her for the rest of your life! Incredible people, incredible facility. Will be back..
Team ECCO and Mrs. Ramer have provided enriching, exciting programming to help our Summer Learning students reintegrate into school engagement. Coming out of COVID, this has been exactly what our students needed to get exited about learning again!
This facility is a true gem in Hendersonville, North Carolina. The tanks and animals are beautiful and everyone who works and volunteers here truly cares about marine science education and sharing this passion with the public. Located far from the ocean, this non-profit offers a totally unique and important experience to students and adults (and everyone in between) to learn about marine life hands-on! It is one-of-a-kind and anyone who has spent any amount of time here can attest to this.
My daughter volunteered for Team ECCO and worked her way up to becoming an intern. The life skills and hands on education she received has given her not only the head knowledge, but also the confidence she needed to go off to college and survive some pretty real world issues! I could not be more thankful for Mrs Ramer. The heart and soul she puts into this nonprofit and the kids she teaches is very evident!
