I appreicated the services of dental work being done on my Mother when see was in the nursing home. It limited the long journey's in to her regular dentist and the timeing always seem to fit her schedule. She was happy with the services.

I am a dental hygienist and clinic coordinator of a free dental clinic that serves homeless and other very low income individuals. In addition, we have a shelter that houses homeless families with children. Every year for the last 11 years, Apple Tree Dental has donated its mobile units and staff to provide free care to our kids at our Give Kids a Smile event. This past year alone, 170 kids received $55,000 of free dental care thanks in large part to Apple Tree. We could not do it without them.
I have also participated as a volunteer in several of the Minneapolis Project Homeless Connect events. Here again, Apple Tree donates their units and staff to provide care to homeless Minnesotans. The dental part of Project Homeless Connect could not happen without Apple Tree.
The Apple Tree staff are all professional, pleasant and function like a well-oiled machine. They are a joy to work with. Apple Tree Dental is always there to give their time, energy and equipment to the cause of providing dental care to those most vulnerable in our community. They have my utmost respect and admiration for all that they do. The dedication of everyone in the company is impressive and inspiring.

I am a senior and live in Fargo ND and tried to find a dentist in the area that i could afford. Well thats impossible. My daughter went to Apple Tree Dental in Hawley MN which is just a small ways away and she told me I should call Apple Tree Dental. Well I did and I am so glad because not only is it affordable for me but they are a wonderful group of dentist. Even the recepionists are so accomodating and pleasant. I ended up having an abscess and Apple Tree Dental got me in to have a root canal the next day. I kind of have a problem with being very nervous about being in the dentist chair. To my surprise it went very well. Dr. Matt was so patient with me and is a great dentist. I am so thankful that I found Apple Tree Dental.

Apple Tree Dental has been our handicapped daughter's dental clinic for 13 years. She loves to go for her checkups. She has 2 front teeth that have a composite on them which at times needs repairing. They take the time needed for her to respond to their gentle urging for her to open her mouth. What a beautiful smile she has after any procedure! We, her mom and dad, have been patients of Apple Tree Dental for several years. We witness, first hand, the kindness and gentleness of everyone, from the those greeting you at the reception desk, to the Dental Hygienists to the Dentists and office staff. Some of these patients have no insurance. Some of them are in wheelchairs. Some of them are mentally and physically handicapped. Each one is greeted with a smile and a "Hello Noëlle, how are you today. "
We have been active as volunteers in fundraising for Apple Tree Dental. This clinic was founded 25 years ago by four young Dentists to minister to poor children, the handicapped and the frail elderly. One of the founders is their CEO, Dr. Michael Helgeson. He and everyone else mentioned, exhibit the same friendlyness and kindness at a meeting, at a fundraising luncheon and at a tour of the clinic. The dental care is excellent!
One of the unique parts of Apple Tree Dental is their Mobile Denistry. They take denistry care to people in nursing homes, Head Start centers, group homes, and Homeless Connect (a day long project in Minneapolis). They set up the dental clinic in an empty room in the facility. It is amazing to see. The coordination involved is incredible-patient, social worker, family members, facility manager, insurance, Dentists, Hygienists, the truck drivers to carry the dental equipment to name some of those involved to treat a patient in an off site facility. Apple Tree Dental has been a consultant to communities and Dentists around the country to set up a clinc like theirs and Mobile Denistry. They more than deserve to be included in the list of Great Nonprofits. Thank you for your consideration.
