My wife and I have utilized Tony Robbins products for years and donated his products to local libraries, etc. Having been impressed with his products and philosophy and training methods, we decided to support his foundation to help children. Based on information from several individuals who we encouraged to send their children to his leadership camp, we have found it was very well received and very productive. Additionally, we were exceptionally impressed by the foundations "basket brigade" effort to feed needy families during the holidays. I would highly recommend his foundation as a worth while and productive charity.
This was the most Amazing Experience you could ever have. 2009 was my third Year at Global Youth Leadership summit and it change my life showed me a way to live my life and love it and be able to help others, and to be able to see people transform, you get so much out of this Summit and i wish it went for longer. Yuu meet the most Amazing people that you will never forget and be friends with for the reat of you life..
The Global Youth Leadership was an awesome experience. To see the teenagers come in the first evening, some with a look of apprehension, others overwhelmed, and others ready for the week ahead... and then after 5 days to hear them say "this should be for the whole summer", and "I don't want this to end", and see their confident faces, broad smiles, and a great outlook on their lives ahead has been the most fulfilling experience of contribution for me this year. I can't want to continue to support this organization in the years to come. Great job!
There is so many things that I can take out of this experience at the Anthony Robbins GYLS! I went into this not knowing what to expect, but I came out a changed person. The summit made me a whole new perspective on life. I am a normal everyday type of person who lives in South Africa. Never been oversees! I was kind of scared because I didn't know what to expect. To my amazement it was much much much better than the way it was my head. The people were friendly, I made new friends from around the globe and I even enjoyed the food! :D At one stage I had to do stand up comedy(stepping out of my comfort zone), I was so so scare and nervous, but when I was done I could felt that feeling of "YOU DID IT!!"... The Anthony Robbins GYLS was an absolutely fantastic summit, there is so much that I learned, but the one thing that stood out the most for me as that it gave me a voice. For years I kept quiet about my feelings because the I was afraid about what people may say or think, but I got my voice back, with lots of confidence as a bonus! Music combined with fun and learning, something that I thought wasn't possible, but they did it and with style!!
This program made me realize that I am better than I ever was before. It also helped me gain more confidence and become a stronger person. I definitely want to return next year for the next Youth Leadership Summit
This year’s Global Youth Leadership Summit is so SUPERB!!!! I mean, it’s the very best year that I ever had. It made me realize who I am makes a difference. So does everyone, including you who are reading my testimonial now. In the summit, something utterly different from the previous year I had was that the Alumni had a break-up session to meet the speakers personally. In a small conference room, we shared our experience and points of view with well- known speakers whereas they gave us fruitful feedbacks. I enjoyed this kind of exercise as we felt more like a family. We spoke comfortably and felt relaxed. From Day 1 to Day 4, the Alumni recognized through the teachings on how to find the Humor within any challenging circumstance; how to become the leader of Laughter, how to make our own brand of comedy and to understand ourselves better. We were even exposed to young adults’ issues such as financial management and relationship. These made me felt like I had grown up and being more mature. As the Alumni, we were encouraged to speak more rather than to listen to the speakers as we had to step up our comfort zone and shared what’s on mind. In this way, we learnt more and grew stronger. To make a summary, the 4 main thing that I learnt the most is: (1) The rope courses taught me on the strength of belief, the importance of strategy and the need of flexibility (2) What I focus will become a reality - I need to focus on the positive side. I found my friends in GYLS who focus on something negative, they were likely to be upset and disappointed. As for me, I decided to take on the bright side, thus, I found myself enjoy to the fullest through this 10 days. ïŠ (3) A good leader should learn to listen first - That’s what the Alumni team lack of. Whenever there is any activity, many alumni want us to hear him or her only instead of learning to listen to others’ idea. What if someone else had a better solution? If we do not listen, then we will definitely miss out a lot of valuable things. Likewise, we should let everyone has a fair chance to speak. Instead of interjecting them, we must let them finished their sharing first. This is the basic virtue that a leader has to possess. (4) Leadership is neither a position nor a title but a lifestyle - This golden rule applied to some of the leaders who were not 100% committed or showing good examples On Day 4 (the last day), the Alumni visited a hospital to contribute our love, hope and peace to the paralysed veteran who served dedicatedly in the military for the country. Through such contribution, I was able to pay it forward. I was in a state of mixed feelings at that particular jiffy- A sense of affection filled my heart the moment I found their hearts remaining youthful despite their aged-bodies, yet my heart went out to the pain they suffered, in the same time joyful to see them elated with pride for all they had contributed to the nation. It was such a great morning to have them around and I was so sure that they would, too, be glad to have us with them. Overall, having 35 alumni in one team was considered a BIG family if compared to the ambassadors with average 10 members each group. Thus, I found it hard to communicate with all my members, especially many of them were likely to mingle with their “same skin type’s” peer. Cultural difference is the largest gap that pushed me out of their fortress, I think. But I did my best to interact with them and finally find my way to develop good rapport and fruitful friendships among my teammates. By setting a good example to others, I was glad to be able to solve conflicts whenever a controversy arouse in the team. Likewise, I was proud of myself for standing firm and not losing my own identity despite peer pressure as well as the cultural difference. I could make wise decisions. I could see the consequences of my every choice. I could be a great leader.

I went to this awesome summit as an Ambassador so it was my first time. My experience at this summit was absolutely amazing and life changing. Everyone there, Volunteer, Crew, Youth Leaders, the speakers and even the DJ were amazingly friendly, inspiring and FUN. I would recommend this experience for EVERYONE because of the way your life is changed in such a positive way. You don't have to worry about making friends because by the end of those 5 outstanding days, everyone is one big global family. I know have best friends from all over the world (New Zealand, Chicago, New Jersey, Florida, San Diego, Mexico, India, England etc. and I live in Canada). The things you learn are the keys that help you with anything in your life and I have most definately shared what I've learned with friends and family back home. I am determined to go again next year to expand this amazing experience!!!
This was my best week in 2009! being a volunteer at the Global Youth Leadership Summit of the Tony Robbins Foundation was an amazing experience. Over 12 countries represented - kids between 14-17 - learning leadership skills - building life long friendships all over the world (and of course easily connected via the new social online networks) - stepping up to take responsibility for themselves, others and their community. I had a girl from Kenya in my group - 17 - for the first time left Kenya... When she told me with total confidence that she wants to change Kenya....having a positive impact on her country which is challenged...I was blown away. With amazing speakers and empowering tools the kids had a week which changed their lifes and will impact others as well. New leaders are created who will create more and more leaders. anne
I was a volunteer team leader. The summit has amazing speakers that teach youth the importance of telling the truth, thinking about how their choices affect not only themselves, not accepting peoples negative labels of you, reaching for your dream, and using your influence as a force for good. The speakers gave their own real life stories to emotionally move the participants. The energy of the summit is amazing. The participants play games that reinforce all the skills they are learning. For example, they play a game where the object of the game is to get as many "toys" into their ring. There are three opposing teams. At the end of the game, they learn that their team wins when all the teams win - so when you help other people win - you win yourself. I cannot give the specifics of the game because that would give it away for futute participants!
I had an absolutely life changing experience here. it was incredible. Never before have i ever even IMAGINED that anything like this was possible. the atmosphere, the energy, the charisma of everyone was just over the top. When i left this camp i felt like a renewed person. everything seemed different and it left me with a feeling of hope. that not all is yet lost for us to turn our lives around and start anew. And the fact that it really is possible gave me so much enthusiasm to teach others and show them that you really do have the power to change your life, make the right choices, think the right thoughts, and rule the way you live. This camp makes you think past the superficiality of everything surrounding your life, it makes you a better you. I had a wonderful time here and I am definitely going to go back next year. I cant wait!
The stuff, counselors, speakers and everyone who supported the camp were volunteers. People who gave us their time, much love, inspired us to give of ourselves, and taught us with games, humor and love, things that really matter. I met Kathy again in another event and could not hold myself but to run to her and give her one more giant hug.
