My beloved dogs passed within a year of each other at ages 14 and 15. I brought in to donate some of my dogs supplies. I arrived to a very very rude woman named Carolyn, she was bad mouthing another rescue in town. I thought they would be glad to receive this donation but I was treated with such disrespect when I was at the store. Very unprofessional.
By the way, I did leave approximately $100 in dog supplies with the ungrateful woman.
I live in the town where they are located adopted a cat from them the cat was a nightmare and the employees where disrespectful and as of resent have been trying to schedule a spay calling at least every other day and leaving a voicemail they still haven’t answered or called back after about 2 months although most vets in this area either do the same or are booked out for many months since they actually answer there phones
I live in Grass Valley, CA, the town where Animal Save is located. I was told that although they receive grant money to provide food for animals in need that they are charging people for it. As the woman said to me, if "I had $5 I could buy food myself". So I decided to investigate a little further. I read the forms they are required to file with the state of California and found out that they are spending 1/2 their income on salaries. That is unacceptable. This is a small organization in a relatively small town and they are spending $100,000s on the salaries of a small number of people. Legitimate charities would not do this. They also hold fundraising events that raise little or no money because the donations are sucked up by the cost of the event. (Again, see their filing with the state). I recommend to anyone considering donating to this organization to investigate them before doing so.
