Mission: Animal village nm is the state's largest no-kill animal shelter, providing a safe, healthy environment for death-row pets rescued from municipal facilities. This reduces the burden of euthanasia, and our intensive health protocols result in healthy, spayed or neutered, microchipped pets being adopted into home across the country and canada. Our free pet food bank distributes thousands of pounds of food to needy pet guardians, also reducing the numbers of pets entering municipal facilities, and as we re-rescue our pets when abandoned after adoption, that burden is also reduced.
Animal Village NM is one of the few no kill shelters in NM. They totally rely on donations to rescue dogs and cats. They receive no government funding. They have saved hundreds of animals since they were founded. Each day is a struggle for them, but they keep trying to make ends meet. Our dog was one of their rescues, coming from a kill shelter in NM. She was scared of everything but she's becoming a great dog, because AVNM took a chance on her and her siblings. All dogs are vaccinated, neutered and receive basic obedience training. AVNM is a loving environment for their rescued hearts.
