Wonderful group of people who are experienced in animal care and behavior and go the extra mile for both the four legged and two legged that they serve!

I found ASR at a local farmer's market having a pet adoption fair. I love animals and though I couldn't adopt, they told me about fostering. I loved the idea of having new kitties in my home and then when they get adopted being able to have more new kitties! So, I signed up. Since then - about a year or so ago, I've had 4 different cats/kittens for different lengths of time and have loved them all!

The great thing about ASR is that they rescue animals of all sorts from local shelters and then place them in foster care until they are adopted. The advantage of this is that, not only are they saved from euthanasia, but they are cared for in loving homes with other animals and people so they are socialized very well. All the cats I've had have been well-behaved and loving. When they find their forever homes, their new families will be so happy with them!

ASR is also great about the physical well-being of the animals. Before placement in most foster situations, the pets are spayed/neutered, given their shots and treated for any ailment, unless they are too young. ASR also rescues pre-weens and is the only organization in the area that does. When one of my foster kitties had a small infection problem in her GI track, one of the experts at ASR was able to help me treat her. She even helped when one of my own cats got it later!

The folks that run ASR are professional and caring. A perfect combination for this line of work. I would highly recommend adopting from or volunteering for ASR. They are great!
