On July 2, 2016 we adopted two new kittens from ASAP - Animal Shelter Assistance Program in Goleta. They are a bonded pair, although not related. They were fostered by the same family and have grown up together. Seth is the darker one and Thumper is the lighter spotted/striped one.
In looking for our new friends, our first priority was to find a good match for our older, special needs Maine Coon kitty we already had at home. Due to his health, it was of utmost importance that we brought home a healthy cat. The folks at ASAP took loads of time helping us figure out the best option for adoption (i.e. kitten vs. adult cat). We also decided it would be best to get two kittens so they could play with each other, rather than drive the older cat crazy.
We visited many shelters before visiting ASAP. Hands down, this is the most professional program in the Santa Barbara/Ventura area. The adoption area is very clean and full of toys for the cats. From pristine facility to the patient staff, I couldn't say that there is anything that they could improve. We recommend ASAP to everyone we meet.
ASAP is a wonderful and innovative cat rescue. They provide the day to day care of cats at the Santa Barbara shelter. Their ground breaking program "Tiny Lions" has been recognized nationally and facilitates the socialization of feral cats and kittens who in the past would have been destroyed as non adoptable. They work closely with adopters to make sure that adoptees new homes are in fact for forever. I can not say enough good things about them. Your support will be appreciated and well used.
