On behalf of SAUVONS NOS ANIMAUX/RDC which is the winner of the Aki 2020 grant, Animal-Kind International is the only organization that gives the chance to African animal welfare organizations that do not have support without any distinction. With Animal-Kind International's recognition, we give courage to fight again and again in favor of abandoned, abused and homeless animals. We help animals, 5 years ago, but no other organization has given us considerations like Animal-Kind International. Thank you very much Animal-Kind International
A charity run by good hearted people who makes huge efforts to change the lives of thousands of animals from poor communities in Africa.
AKI is amazing in that every donation goes 100% to the animals and their welfare. I like that they also do great support for working donkeys in Subsaharan Africa. This donkey welfare also supports the local farmers and their families by keeping their donkeys in good health.
If you have travelled abroad and seen huddles of hungry, mangey street dogs or seen a mule limping along carrying a hideously heavy burden and felt you wish you could do something but what? Donating to AKI is your answer. This is simply the poster child for non profit organizations. It works with small groups in developing countries where animal welfare is pitiful. It has an immediate impact on the communities whether it is sponsoring a rabies clinic in an area where people as well as animals die from a preventable disease or organizing training sessions to show farmers how to care for their donkeys through proper harnesses, wound care and proper nutrition. I don't know of many more non profits that have a 0% of donations used to cover salaries, administrative or other overhead costs. The founder Karen works tirelessly and for free - it's just a passion for some people. If you care about animals and the people who share the space in this world with these creatures, this is a wonderful organization to support.
Probably some of us have had an experience of traveling to a country where we have seen awful cases of animal suffering. We wonder what we can do to help - is there no one who is taking care of injured street dogs, packs of starving feral cats, overburdened beaten donkeys? The answer is that there are very few organizations working in these areas and even less donations flowing in to support them. I am so pleased AKI and its local partners are around to make a difference - both to the animals that they are helping, but also in changing people's attitudes towards animals and their potential for suffering. I've volunteered at a few of their sterilization clinics in Uganda and humane outreach sessions in classrooms - donations are going to the local staff and shelters who do the work on the streets and in the communities. It really is making a difference step by step.
I am closely working with Animal-kind international and they are a great organisation. They are selflessly helping many charity organisations not necessarily the very strong ones but even the more less privileged. In this they are rapidly spreading animal welfare awareness in Africa in particular and the world over. AKI is proudly sponsoring a Donkey welfare project with Bam animal clinics in Uganda. Long live AKI !
So many volunteers supporting animals! Karen Menczer, the founder, is our friend and neighbor. She's an organizer in love with animal welfare. This non-profit deserves support and encouragement. Thank you, all!
AKI is a GREAT organization. It was founded and is run by a woman (Karen) who is as honest as they come and completely devoted to animal welfare as well as the ongoing need to educate people about the humane treatment of animals. This is one of the few organizations to which I donate, because I KNOW that the money will be honestly, constructively and intelligently used for the organization's stated mission. In addition, Karen has established wonderful partnerships throughout the world, and knows how to collaborate in a way that is both supportive and empowering.
Thank you AKI for supporting the small and hardworking animal welfare groups in the impoverished places of the world-from Armenia to Zimbabwe-your help brings hope!
As an Animal-Kind International board member I see first hand how this great nonprofit works to raise money in poor countries for animal welfare. One hundred percent of our donations go to our partner organizations and grantees. Donors can easily track our partners and grantees activities through our multiple social media platforms ; and see local people providing shelter, veterinarian care, humane education and more to meet the needs of domestic animals.
It's my pleasure to serve on the board of Animal-Kind International. AKI works with partner organizations in countries which have a lack of financial resources for companion and working animals . Our founder, Karen Menczer, shares the great work of our partners on multiple social media sites. 100% of our donations go to are partners and they make great use of their funding.

For more than a dozen years, Animal-Kind International has supported Helping Hands for Hounds of Honduras with money for food, medicine, surgery, construction of pens, and caretakers for dozens of injured and abused animals rescued off the streets of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Besides this economic help, Karen Menczer has always been available to give emocional support and answer questions.
AKI has been doing amazing work for years, I first learned about them through a mutual friend who is also an animal lover. I respect the hard work that AKI to not only help animals in need but to teach kindness to animals.
Thank to Animal-Kind International (AKI) a learn to change my mind concerning the life of animals and their protection.
Now in Burundi I keep on informing other people how it's a noble task to protect the life of animals.
Thank you AKI
I'm biased of course, because I am the Founder & Director. I give a 5-star rating to AKI because we fill a huge gap: the gap in funding for Africa-based animal welfare organizations (and animal welfare organizations in other poor regions). We not only raise visibility and send funds to our Partners and Grantees, we also strengthen the organizations so they become more self-sustaining, they become more capable of applying for and managing grants, they become better at communicating with supporters and potential supporters, and they become stronger voices for the animals in their countries. AKI has a board with many years of experience working with animal welfare organizations all over the world. We make sure you can easily find out what your funds are used for....no digging around our website in search of how we use your funds! And all donations go 100% to our supported organizations.
I'm proud to be part of AKI because I'm proud of the 11 partner animal welfare organizations that we support. I feel that AKI's work is so important because we bring our partners' work to so many more people than each partner would be able to do on their own. We make sure our partner organizations report to us in a transparent and accountable fashion so that we can report to our donors. And the bottom line: because of donations that AKI receives and sends to our partners, they are able to help so many more cats, dogs, and donkeys, and accomplish so much--much more than what they could do without us. Plus, we help our partner organizations, develop, grow, mature--that's so important for making advances in animal welfare in poor/under-resourced countries.
As a donor and a participant in the grant award review process, I am so impressed by the amazing work that Animal-Kind International does to help animals. Their founder does painstaking research into each group before awarding any grants and she visits each grant recipient individually. I feel so good about donating to this worthy group because I know that every penny goes toward improving the lives of animals. I highly recommend the work this group does.
They clearly have a great love for animals and concern themselves with care whereever it is needed, which is at a lot of places. They consistently report the their fans what they are doing!
Animal-Kind International has supported Helping Hands for Hounds of Honduras for more than ten years mainly with food and funds for spay/neuter and other medical procedures. Because of AKI, HHHH has been contacted by many foreign visitors resulting in the rescue and adoption of several stray cats and dogs.
Animal-kind International has consistently helped the less fortunate animals in countries around the world where they are often ignored or even harmed. AKI and Karen Menczer have helped by donating medical supplies, by funding spay/neuter surgeries for rescued animals, and also by being available for emotional support. I whole heartedly give them an A plus for all they do.
My very favorite non-profit helping animals and, by extension, people. I measure success in terms of the numbers of animals saved/helped and the numbers of minds changed about the way we treat animals. Animal-Kind International excels at both. I'd give 100 stars if I could.
I've been following this organization for years, totally impressed with the carefulness with which they choose and support member rescue organizations. Also that they don't take a cent of the donation money - it all goes to the local non-profits they support. I cannot rate them highly enough.
Animal-Kind International is among the main organizations supporting animal welfare endeavors across Africa & is responsible for saving the lives of countless animals. The organization also has a strong, competent, trustworthy leadership & not only provides financial support, but also works to improve animal welfare measures in shelters across Africa. A highly recommended organization!
We love Animal-Kind International!!! If there is any non profit out there that does good and one can trust 100 %, it's AKI!
Animal-Kind international is such an amazing organisation and deserves 500 stars!!
Animal-Kind International is changing the world to a better place! The impact AKI has in so many third world countries is remarkable! 100 % of the donations go straight towards the animals in need, in many poor countries for the local charities there is no other way to get any funds to help!
Animal-Kind International deserves full support!
Because they provide help where no one else does. Help where is most needed!
Animal Kind helped open my eyes to getting a glimpse of just how much work and effort goes into the saving and care of any animal in need. The Rosie dog story (attached in the viedo link) is the perfect example of Animal Kind going above and beyond to save a life and enforces there motto kindness to animals has no boundaries. Highly reccomend the story/video be shared because it offers a small glance of what extraordinary work this organization is capeable of.
Without this organization and the amazing volunteers staffing it there would be in my opinion zero chance of animals getting the chance they deserve to survive from the most harshest unforgiving parts of the world. Thank you for all you do and all you have done!
Since 2009, I have volunteered with animals (both domestic and wild) at 17 different places around the world and these experiences have given me knowledge and experience about what makes a good animal welfare organization. Using what I have learned and observed, along with following Animal Kind International's work for 5+ years, I can say it is a excellent organization. In addition to the fact that AKI gives away 100% of its donations, I appreciate their transparency. The organization has precisely detailed end of the year reports, their web page is very thorough and they also post frequent written, photographic and video updates on their Facebook page. The founder's career takes her to several of the countries that receive funding, so during her free time at these places she visits the organizations' offices and sites to see their work. AKI plans to increase its aid to other domestic animal groups in Africa and they are doing this in an organized, methodical and logical manner with input from its supporters.
When it comes to animal welfare, a specific area of interest to me is education, especially to children. I love that several of the African groups helped by AKI use their money to teach young people humane education, both in class and on field trips. These children can then share their knowledge with family, friends and community members creating a ripple effect that will slowly, but surely change how people view and treat animals.
Review from Guidestar
AKI and Karen Menczer are my rock. Over the last several years, HHHH has counted on AKI to pay for spay/neuter surgeries, medicines and food for dozens of abandoned and injured strays. I know that all donations they receive go directly to help needy animals around the world in the poorest places.
5 big golden stars for Animal-Kind International!!
We couldn't do what we do without their support and friendship! Hundreds of dogs and cats in Tanzania could be rescued, fed, treated and re-homed due to AKI and their wonderful donors!
As an Animal Rescue in a country like Tanzania it is extremely important to have a reliable partner - and AKI is above the ordinary in every way!
5 million stars (if we could) and Thank you's !!!!!
AKI provides much needed funding for spay/neuter, deworming, surgery and general veterinary care in developing countries around the world. 100% of your donations go directly to these services. We have added humane education programs in Africa in order to foster a caring attitude towards stray animals. A truly worthwhile nonprofit.
For over 30 years, Karen Menczer, founder and director of AKI, has devoted all her spare time to helping abused and neglected animals around the world. Through her travels throughout Africa, South and Central American and Eastern Europe, she has help to found or fund SPCAs or animal welfare groups in the poorest countries in the world. These countries do not have the funding that the US provides to our ASPCA. 100% of donated funds are sent to the animal welfare organization of your choice. My daughter's high school animal welfare club is in the process of raising money for AKI's partner organizations. Please consider getting involved by fundraising for Animal Kind International. As Karen has explained many times, society learns to be kind to their people by being kind to animals.
AKI is a truly amazing animal organization that does what it says. It supports local animal organizations that use donor funds to support dogs, cats and donkeys that are work donkeys. Funds help in spay and neuter clinics, donkey clinics to teach local citizens to use better gear for the donkeys, food, vetinary bills, shelter operation and just as important is Humane education. Teaching children what it means, in areas that do not treat animals well, provides hope that all the work AKI and other organizations does will perpetuate. Already people are adopting animals in areas that wasn't done, picking up phones to report animals in trouble and even elders of communities approving the assistance. The money goes 100% to the organizations. Theres no high paid CEO's or personnel. It's operated by volunteers. The organizations the money goes to are required to report back. AKI then sends out reports and blogs more than any animal organization that I've donated to and keeps donors informed. The one thing I like most is that Karen Menser, is on site visiting these organizations as part of her world wide travels with her environmental job and takes advantage of checking on the partners to see first had they are doing as they say. I rate them 5++++++++.
I've donated to several projects and know where every penny of the money went to. I'm given frequent project updates and progress pictures. I've kept up with the organizations progress and feel confident that all of my donations are used wisely to improve the lives of animals. They have given me the opportunity to help and I trust them.
This is the kind of organization one dreams of finding.
They are committed to the cause of rescuing animals internationally with heart and mind.
I have absolute trust in their work and am deeply impressed with the integrity by which they pursue their mission.
I am volunteering at one of the organizations that AKI supports in Tanzania, Africa.
This is the type of charity that everyone hopes to find. The woman leading AKI makes site visitations to ensure that the places receiving donations are using the money well. While visiting us, Karen not only came to see what we were doing, but she chipped right in to help us as well as poured additional love on the abandoned pups. She even saved some mistreated dogs herself while on her visit. In addition, the information from AKI is always timely, interesting and current. All of the donations are used for the animals. It is an exemplary organization.
Animal-Kind International is a fantastic nonprofit that uses 100% of the donations received for the animals welfare. They have provided medical care, housing and love for many, many abandoned, mistreated and sick dogs, cats and burros. In addition they are reaching out to the children of the countries that are supported by AKI donations and teaching them how to respect, and care for and love dogs and cats. The children then pass this positive knowledge and behavior on to their families and communities. AKI supports organizations that provide medical care, housing, love and adoptions for animals that under the circumstances of where they live would have had minimal to no chance for survival. I love and help support through donations, AKI.
Animal-Kind International is an amazing nonprofit that is reaching animals (dogs, cats and donkeys) that have had no chance to a life without fear, pain and starvation. AKI has made it a priority to educate people, starting with the children, (as a regular class in school) on how to treat these animals with kindness, see to their needs and to provide them with a proper diet and in return they will receive unconditional love. AKI provides much needed money and supplies (through donations) to house, feed, spay and neuter and healing for both medical and psychological problems for animals and in some places where people do not traditionally touch, let alone hug and pet and play with dogs and cats. The kindness to animals later translates into kindness for other humans. The money collected by AKI is used exclusively for the above purposes. I donate to numerous animal welfare nonprofits, but AKI is my favorite and thus gets my biggest donation.
I’ve been following this group for quite a while now. They have a very reasoned approach to what they can do as they don’t want to let anyone down. At the same time, they’ve been gradually and carefully growing their services so that more grassroots organizations can get support for their animal welfare initiatives. AKI also constantly keeps all their supporters up-to-date with their operations and are interested in supporters’ input. I delight in knowing how much good they do where good needs to be done! It is the most righteous animal welfare non-profit I know of! I cannot recommend them highly enough.
I'm so happy to know there is an organization so effective at the grass-roots level! It is great to get stories and accomplishments with the Director on the ground while visiting the local facilities, volunteers and animals.. The volunteers do so much to stretch donations to help as many animals as they can, often under extremely difficult conditions.
I am proud to be a board member of this organization, which is so effective, careful with donor funds, and so caring, while filling a huge need-funding for animal welfare in countries in Africa and other regions where support for animal welfare is hard to come by.
The animal rescue organizations that Animal-Kind International raises money for really rely on AKI supporters. This is a case where without AKI support, many of the animals would not be helped. AKI is committed to being transparent and fully accountable to donors. I feel confident that my donation is going to help animals and not in anyone's pockets!
This is a great example of how a non-profit should run. Its all about the animals and resources are allocated with their care in mind. I salute all who are involved and encourage others to support AKI.
Kudos to Animal-Kind International for their humane education efforts that go a long way to cultivating an appreciation of, and compassion for, animals. Their work includes site visits to the local rescue operations that they support; provision of supplies and materials; and sharing of best practices across the different rescue operations. They help the local rescue operations know that they are not alone in the challenges they face. Important work by smart, big-hearted people.
Well run non-profit that ensures 100% of donations go directly to their agents in the field who care for animas in developing countries. Excellent documentation of their work and the work of their field agents.
AKI efforts manifest love for all creatures; as such, they are changing human and (other) animal lives for the better.
What a great organization. One feature I especially like is the "in memoriam" page. To be able to turn the loss of a beloved pet (yours or someone else's) into a better life for a struggling street dog is a great thing. Our monthly donation to this non-profit is one of the most satisfying things we do.
I love so much about this organization - the transparency with which donations are treated, the many stories and pictures of what the organization does, and the real results that support for AKI brings to animals in limited-resource communities around the world. The organization's memorial page is also a really nice way to show sympathy for those who have lost a pet.
Animal Kind International is doing amazing work all over the world. Always helping The Hope Sanctuary in Barbados. Thanks, Animal-Kind International, Karen. You guys are the best.
AKI is helping animal shelters all over the world. Wonderful work well done. I have met Karen while on a work project in Barbados, where she spent all of her weekends donating her work and free time to The Hope Sanctuary Barbados. A true loving soul. She also has supported The Hope Sanctuary in other ways, mailing sponsorship proposals etc. Thank you, AKI for all your support for Barbados.
5 stars hardly seems enough for AKI -- everything about this organization is OUTSTANDING: Their founder/director Karen Menczer, their donation policy of 100% going directly to fill the needs of the animals (i.e. NO OVERHEAD), the energy, expertise, and love that is displayed by the well-vetted (no pun intended) partner organizations that AKI funds, and of course the spirits (and bodies) of the many animals that are helped on a daily basis, which is why we are all blessed to have such an organization to trust with our hearts and our billfolds. If you want to help a lot of animals in need, AKI is the way to do it!
Thank you very much to AKI--and to their donors too! May you and all connected with you continue to flourish!
AKI is a great organization. Although not partnering with LPA in Dakar ( yet) we've received a small donation in the past that was put to great use. Reading about the work they do in the rest of Africa is a source of inspiration for us. In Africa in particular it's tough going for animals and AKI is making a huge difference The photos attached here are of a mass sterilization campaign LPA held in August 2016 where we used the sutures so kindly donated by AKI
I am a recipient of financial, emotional and moral support from AKI. I wouldn't be able to help and save the hundreds and hundreds of animals that I do otherwise. Nothing less than a 5 star review for this wonderful U.S. based organization.
Karen Menczer's exceptional leadership has made Animal-Kind International an outstanding organization for the welfare of animals. AKI is what it is today because Karen - and her staff and donors - has put her heart and soul into helping animals who otherwise might not have survived. Thank you Karen and AKI!
I have first hand experience of seeing this charity in action and I am really impressed with their passion for and dedication to improving the lives of hundreds of animals across the world. I enjoy regular personalised feedback informing me of where my money is going and love the stories of hope on their facebook and webpage.
I worked with AKI's affiliate in Kingston, Jamaica, and can attest firsthand to the huge difference this incredible organization makes. With partners all over the world, AKI is manifesting big change by helping animals. And it's not just the animals that benefit. I witnessed the huge shifts that the people in these communities experienced too as we delivered food, medicines, and love to animals in some of the poorest neighborhoods in town. People's lives have been turned around by their experiences helping to care for and defend these animals. By helping animals, AKI helps the whole world!
My sister and I spent several days working with AKI-affiliated Deborah Binns in Kingston, Jamaica. Alone or with the help of only a few people, Deborah travels a different route around Kingston every day to feed and medicate malnourished dogs and cats. Her work has saved countless lives. On top of that, Deborah's efforts have led to incredible changes in the communities she visits. She has inspired people within these areas, especially children, to see animals differently. Because of this they have become more humane, not only to the dogs and cats of the streets, but to themselves and other people as well. Deepest love and respect to Deborah and to AKI!!
Animal-Kind International is one of my favourite charities. They are actually on the ground supporting countless shelters and individuals all around the world who are actually making a difference for animals.
Animal-Kind International is by far my favourite animal charity in the world. They have gone above and beyond for so many shelters and rescue groups around the world who have found themselves in the most dire situations and often times in countries that are going against everything they are standing for in regards to animal welfare and animal rights. I have had the pleasure of bringing various donations and supplies to AKI supported shelters such as the USPCA in Uganda and Helping Hands for Hounds in Honduras. From my first hand experiences, I know for a fact that Animal-Kind International is a class act charity that deserves all the support and recognition that they can get!!
I have been a donor to AKI for years, I personally know the dedication, integrity and compassion of this organization. I too assist in international animal welfare along the US border and through my animal welfare work I ran across AKI, they are an amazing organization, working on the ground with local shelters in some very tough places to be an animal. Completely trustworthy nonprofit with a true global vision so help improve the lives of animals working through local groups.
I bow to Karen Menzer for all her engagement for cats and dogs around the world.
There are very few organizations that donate 100% of your donation. There are probably even fewer that fit in visiting these organizations around their other job.
I personally know one of the shelters that are supported by Animal Kind and know how desperately they rely on this income, to be able to continue to help the animals in some of the poorest countries there are. Countries that poverty and disease are rife and people (often children) still die of Rabies
Without our only shelter the only option for the dogs and cats, is a life scavenging on the streets, feared by many and often sent away, sometimes violently, When a bite or a scratch is a threat to your life or to your child, it is hard to be compassionate.
I and all who help, at every shelter, say thank you AKI. Without your support the world would be a far worse place. Also a mega thank you from all the animals that have been rescued, treated, and found homes.
Hi I volunteer at Uganda Society for the protection and care of animals, who without the help from AKI would really struggle to not only do what they can, but may have trouble existing at all. Charity and volunteering is a fairly new concept here, they deal with problems in a different way, villagers are family and will help family however unrelated. Even when they have little themselves.
But with the help from AKI we are getting the message out there, through spreading the word at both an adult and school level, to the extent that a few months ago the council agreed to call the shelter when an area has a problem, rather than laying poison to solve the problem, not that it will.
The shelter is our only one in Uganda and it would be a far worse place without the good work they do with help from AKI, who deserve a heck of a lot of credit for what they do, so many animals in some of the worlds poorest area's have benefited from their donations,
THANK YOU ANIMAL KIND INTERNATIONAL
Animal-Kind International absolutely do what they for animals in need. I know this for a fact, because the Chair of said foundation came all the way to my country, the Republic of Suriname (South America) to observe and see where AKI could help. Since then we have been able to execute spay/neuter projects and buy food for the stray animals we feed on a daily basis. We also have been able to buy a meat grinder, with which we grind the meat we get donated from local companies. Every day we cook good food for the animals. We would really like to see AKI as a GREAT NONPROFIT because they spend all donations on those who need it: animals in need. Cynthia Ashruf (Foundation Henk Abrahams)
We are the Foundation Henk Abrahams, an organisations which helps stray animals as much as possible. By giving them food, water and if needed, medical care by a vet. We also spay/neuter all the animals we feed on the street. Thanks to Animal Kind International, we have been able to continue this work. Especially regarding the donations we get through AKI and which we use for spay/neuters, some food and vaccinations. Without the help of AKI we really wouldn't have been able to do so much. Fact is that the business community in my country, the Republic of Suriname, is not so willing to donate for animals in need. We are very fortunate to have AKI as a partner/donor.
They are a non profit with a difference. They send 100 recievables to beneficiary organizations. Their presence is also in the deprived west African countries
Every single penny that is contributed goes toward the care of neglected/abused animals in countries that lack the financial infrastructure to satisfy that need. Without AKI, these animals lives would be largely ignored. Funds for educating the local populations is money also well spent.
There are animals in desperate circumstances all over the world. However, we in the US, have many resources to rescue and help our own animals. AKI is like Doctors Without Borders, addressing the needs of animals WORLDWIDE who need food, shelter, health care, protection and love. This organization knows no limits and works tirelessly to improve the lives of animals in desperate need of aid. Every single cent donated goes to the cause, the way non-profits are supposed to operate.
Wonderful organization helping animals worldwide. Karen responds quickly to questions about how donations are spent and provides updates on programs through a Facebook page and a newsletter. 100% of donations go towards helping animals.
Animal Kind International helps animals around the world, in the neediest pockets of our earth...bringing help, love, hope and life to many animals who would otherwise go hungry, homeless and sick. Thank you for your unending, kind and selfless efforts.
As a member of an animal welfare ngo. in the Caribbean, I have watched the work of AKI and fully support this org. They are helping those that cannot speak for themselves, and there can be no greater calling than this.
When even human rights are compromised in many developing countries, Animal-Kind has helped people with compassion help 'those with no voice'...and this starts the process of respecting human rights as well. I know this because I am a Returned peace Corps Volunteer, and AKI has helped me meet humane activists in many countries. I've seen their good work!
I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. Most places in the developing world have very little in the way of human rights----but there is always a minority watching out for animals---the most vulnerable. This really helps people understand the role of community in compassion. Without the assistance of Animal-Kind, they could not do what they do. I think this 8is a great organization, and commend Karen for keeping it going.
I am proud to be a board member of Animal-Kind International. AKI supports our partner organizations in poor countries. These partners organizations do great and much needed work protecting and medically serving domestic animals. AKI is financially transparent and your donation all goes to our partner organizations. AKI keeps donors updated with newsletters, blogs, twitter posts, Facebook page and web page.
I am very proud to be a board member of Animal-Kind International (AKI). AKI provides our partner organizations with critical supplies and services. We pay for spay and neuter days. We pay for emergency care for domestic animals. AKI also helps fund shelter buildings and repairs. AKI provides much needed food and medical supplies. AKI is a transparent nonprofit that gives 100% of all donations to our partner organizations.
I am both a donor and board member for AKI. It's the only non-profit I know of where all donations go to support the beneficiary organizations, unless a donor affirmatively specifies the money can be used for administrative expenses. There also is no question that AKI works to fill a need -- support for local organizations working to end the suffering of animals -- in settings where the need cannot be questioned. AKI is a model of philanthropy supporting indigenous reform efforts, and It's an honor to be associated with it in any capacity.
I have worked with and around many non-profits, and AKI is exceptional. It is focused, efficient, and its structure matches its mission -- to help grass-root organizations improve the lives of the animals in their areas. It is a perfect example of the truth of Margaret Mead's quote: "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
AKI is doing a great job to help the poor animal around the world
Animal-Kind Internationals Founder Karen Menczer has visited The Hope Sanctuary Barbados and all our staff have been impressed with Karen Menczers professionalism, compassion and efficiency. She has helped our organisation tirelessly. Animal Kind International deserves the support of all animal lovers who want to make a difference.
Cornelia Coulthrust Founder of the Hope Sanctuary
This is a unique organization in that it reaches developing and underserved communities in countries that lack in humane education and fair loving treatment of dogs and cats. I only hope that this organizations continues to grow and partners with rescues in the United States to encourage more humane treatment of animals internationally. Karen is incredible and I would love to accompany her on a trip to a shelter that AKI helps fund. Thank you and please let us know how we may help more!
The work and efforts for animals made by Karen Menczer and the members of this group are phenomenal ! I am proud to be a donor and plan to support this group as they continue their great work worldwide. Thanks for what you do!
We have been working with AKI for several years now to help with stray dogs of Bosnia. We know how much effort goes into their operations and every donation will go to the right hands. Thanks Karen and AKI for everything you for those who have no voice.
Everything I have seen and read about this organization says it is wonderful. I am thankful that they support animal caregivers all over the world. It is never enough because the need is so great, but they do what they can. They provide plenty of pictures of animals before and after and show how money is being used. I have no questions when donating to them and hope they continue to grow and spread.
AKI fills a huge gap for animal welfare organizations in poor countries. There are so few foundations and other grant making organizations that support animal welfare outside the US, Canada, EU, Australia. We help fill that funding gap (although so much more money is needed than what we are able to raise so far). I'm proud that we have such great relationships with all our partner organizations, as well as with other animal welfare orgs in poor countries, so we are able to let donors know just what their donations are doing, and we're helping some very worthy organizations that are not partners [yet!] to become stronger.
I have known Karen Menczer for many years and there is not a finer, more focused and ingenious trail blazing volunteer/employer/employee living today.
This organization with her help and that of the other members is making a huge impact on the lives of our furry and not so furry friends who inhabit this green planet.
Kudos to you.
