We have adopted 3 cats and a dog from Animal Haven and have had an amazing experience each time. The staff and volunteers are extremely caring and literally care for each animal as if it's their own. One of our kitties was sick as a baby and was in foster care with a staff member for 5 weeks being hand fed and nursed back to health. I have nothing but great things to say about them!

My husband and I went to Animal Haven two years ago; we were looking to get a partner in crime for our current cat who had recently lost his sister to cancer. We'd check the website (always current) and come in periodically to meet the kitties to find the right one. Tiffany and Jen were very helpful and knew how sensitive we were to finding the right addition to our family, based on our recent loss. We took our time and found Lola- she is so sweet and adores her big brother. The staff at Animal Haven is first class and care deeply about the animals and finding you the right match. They've got a great store- with all the money going back into taking care of the animals. Although we're not looking for any more pets right now, we are signed up for Animal Haven emails / facebook and love reading all about the new animals they have for adoption and cheer when they find a home!

Love this place!!! I adopted my dog from here 3yrs ago and plan on going back to adopt my second dog. Staff and volunteers are great and brought up multiple dogs for me to see and help me make the right decision for my lifestyle. Shelter is very inviting and clean. If you are looking to adopt THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!

I adopted 2 cats from Animal Haven and they are an incredible organization! The staff knows each animal personally and goes out of their way to make great matches between the animals and adopters. I would highly recommend adopting from them!

I was looking to adopt a Cat and a friend told me about having a good experience with Animal Haven. I looked at their website and saw an adorable tabby named Joe. I called and was told to come in and submit an application to screen me as a potential adopter. Jennifer and Tracy were very nice. A day later they called and said I was approved and I came in and picked Joe up. Along with an adoption you are able to buy supplies from Animal Haven at a discount. All in all I had a great experience and our family loves Joe!

This is the WORST shelter I have ever seen, Totally uncaring staff is what greated me as I walked in the door, the woman at the desk could not have cared any less to see me, or it seems anyone else walk through their doors. I wantd to adopt a cat but immediately got a really bad feeling from the place.

I left feeling that I should do more research and went online and talked to a friend of mine that needed help finding homes for his dogs. He had to move out of NY because he lost his job. Animal Haven promised they would help and he could have his dog back at the end of the month. Well they called him and told him that he could't have his dog back that it was sick. Turns out they SOLD his dog, even before they had the curtesy to call him.

RUN FROM THIS PLACE. There are so many other shelters in NY that really care about their animlas and do a great job finding forever homes, this place lies to people and I now have heard several stories of the same thing, that they will let owners have their animals back and then turn around behind their backs and sell the animal.

This place should just be shut down, and the managing staff FiRED for the poor job of leadership that they provide.

SHAME ON YOU ANIMAL HAVEN FOR A JOB POORLY DONE.
