Had a dog and cat spayed. Absolute perfection. Professional, nice and both our girls are bouncing around like nothing ever happened to them. Cannot say enough great things about our experience!!!!
I have worked with Animal Care Sanctuary for 8 years and have been able to see first hand what a great organization it is. This No Kill organization is focused on caring for animals, and on reaching out to the community to provide service in emergency or other times of need. Animal Care Sanctuary provides training in schools about humane treatment of animals, provides therapy dogs in local hospitals, brings feral cat immunization and neutering services to areas heavily populated with these cats, and conducts adoption programs that put 90+% of animals surrendered back into good homes in the community. The Board and Administration are focused on providing facilities and programs that will serve the community for many years into the future. The Board of Directors is composed of carefully chosen members who come from the legal field, business, finance, medical and the trades. Board and administrative training is done regularly, and is required by organization policy.
In my experience this is the best organization of it's kind I have known.

I am the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Animal Care Sanctuary. We continue to strive to build the Board into a more diverse, dedicated, and informed group that can help the organization fulfill it's mission. In the last 4 years we have worked to improve board training, policies and procedures, employee support and extended outreach to the community that will benefit people and their companion animals. I have an extensive background in the administration of non-profit organizations, and this is one of the best I have been privileged to serve.

We were quite amazed to find what a clean, spacious, happy, sunny environment Animal Care Sanctuary is! The cats all seemed calm & happy. Sent by our daughter for a Christmas surprise for our grandchildren, we adopted a sibling pair of kittens. They are the joy of their lives and provide endless entertainment. Kudos to ACS for all you do and especially for your "no kill" policy!
My family adopted our dog from Animal Care Sanctuary. She was rescued by ACS from a kill shelter in Mississippi. This organization saves lives and rescued the newest member of our family . Great organization. Great people.

ACS is the Best Friends of the East! They really care and take care of all animals....special needs, healthy, stray, or surrendered (although they try to help families through tough times and be able to keep their precious animals). They have educational programs in place, a community vet clinic, a pet food bank, and are able to adopt out a very high percentage of the animals they take in. The staff and volunteers are very friendly and willing to help in any way they can.
My family has donated for 3 generations, since this was Leslie Sinclair's dream. She would be so proud today and I. Know she is looking down from heaven!
Animal Care Sanctuary is a phenomenal model for animal care and rescue in our area. The Team is incredibly loving, caring, and responsive to the community and does an amazing job of coming up with new ways to fund raise, recruit volunteers, and create community awareness. Joan is spot on with her low cost spay neuter clinic and affordable veterinary care services, plus the pet food bank, as it is certainly much better to give individuals the opportunity to keep their pet during a hardship. And providing the low cost spay neuters truly works at the root of the overpopulation problem. This non-profit is the BEST OF THE BEST!
I have both adopted an animal there and use them for veterinary services. The staff is courteous and prompt when you go there, the animals are well cared for and their care is top notch. I recommend them to everyone that asks! Prices are fair and facilities are clean.
A little more than two years ago, my husband and I decided that we'd love to share our lives with a dog. We heard about Animal Care Sanctuary (ACS) through a family member, and visited many times before selecting the perfect dog for our family. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and was also very honest about which dogs they felt would be a good fit for us, and which wouldn't.
Once we found our little buddy, Tucker, the adoption process was extremely smooth. That staff at ACS ensured that Tucker was healthy before we took him home - he had a couple of minor issues when he came in - and they also told us everything we'd need to know to keep him that way.
After living with us for a while, Tucker started to show some distress around strangers. The ACS staff has been extremely helpful in helping us improve upon that - even meeting us at a local park, allowing us time with their trainer and canine staff, and inviting us to classes on animal behavior.
I was so impressed with ACS, and so grateful for their support, that I decided to become a volunteer. I walk dogs, bake treats, attend events, shadow the vet staff, help in the office - whatever is useful from day to day. Additionally, I've recommended ACS to several friends who've become adopters. All speak highly of the organization.
Throughout the time I've spent at ACS, I've also become friends with many there - animals and humans alike!
ACS has my very highest of praise and recommendation.

Helping to manage a shelter/sanctuary is the most emotional position I have ever held. There is heart break for the injured and abused, along with elation for the adopted and fostered. Fevers break; strength returns; a new trick is learned; a child cuddles a kitten, and all seems right with our world. Until the next phone call. We are here as animal advocates to educate our public about animal safety, awareness, well being, and kindness. We spend countless hours perpetuating our mission to be a dedicated, nurturing stepping stone for animals of all kinds. Personally, I know, it is so worth it.
The first time I visited Animal Care Sanctuary, I found an extremely clean facility staffed by genuine caring animal lovers. The Adoption Coordinator, Erin, goes above and beyond to find a match made in heaven. Their screening process helps to ensure a safe and loving forever home for all the animals.
The staff takes wonderful care of the animals at ACS. They not only care for them physically, but access their personalities as well, in an effort to make the best possible family match. Medical issues are also monitored and needs met by ACS's veterinary staff.
Their Community Clinic offers our area low-cost animal care, vaccines, spaying and neutering - open to the public. The clinic is staffed with loving, compassionate individuals who make both us and our animals feel comfortable, confident and calm.
I had the pleasure of volunteering here and was able to see first-hand, the care and compassion given to each animal. ACS is a one-of-a-kind sanctuary, saving animal lives and finding loving homes for so many. They are making a difference.
If you are considering adopting, try ACS first. You won't be disappointed.

Wonderful facility with an amazing staff. All of the staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and care so much about the animals in their care. I am a dog trainer and active rescue volunteer in Philadelphia and have had the pleasure of working with some of the staff at ACS in regards to dogs that are needing to be surrendered, waiting for adoption and already adopted. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure that all placements are in the best interest of the animal and stand by their mission every step of the way. Truly a top notch organization that sets the standard for rescue and sanctuary.

These folks are great! I have recently found a dog and took it to ACS. Within weeks they found this good boy a home and were kind and understanding through the process. A blessing to the community.

Animal Sanctuary is a non-kill, true sanctuary for God's creatures. The wonderful staff is dedicated to the care and well being of our animals until we can find them their forever home. I am proud to be a part of ACS.
ACS is the best and all of the people there are great! As a volunteer in the cattery... I've witnessed first hand the love and attention these felines receive from the people who care for them. They work extremely hard at ACS to give these animals that are under their care, regardless of the reason they came to ACS, a loving, comfortable, and happy "home". The people at ACS know each animal by name and treat them as if they were their own pet. I truly believe that all workers rejoice as each animal leaves ACS's care for a loving, forever home.
Animal Care Sanctuary is FANTASTIC! Greater than 500 animals cared for, all day long, 7 days a week, 365 days a year there is someone caring for these creatures. Everything from Rescues to Strays, from Abandoned to Surrendered, from Healthy to Ill, ACS cares for them all, and does a great job! The volunteers are amazing, and Dr. Alaire and her LVT Jill have the biggest hearts imaginable. I have visited the sanctuary many times, helped with MuttStrutt last year, and had the pleasure of doing an informative lecture for the Volunteer staff on Shelter Pet Nutrition just last week. They deserve the Utmost respect!
The ACS is amazing , loving caring people, doing their best for the animals in their care Got a dog from there and he is amazing. Shows me that they show the animals there love, because sometimes shelter dogs are not very social, doing a great job getting them ready for their furever homes!!!!!
Acs is an absolutely amazing place!! The care they provide in rehabilitating animals and find them homes is phenomenial!! Love this place!!! N there staff is amazing as well.
I have had the honor of being a board member at ACS for the last five years. The desire and work ethic of all the staff is unsurpassed. ACS employs 35 employees, who truly love what they are doing. When we rescue an animal or adopt one out, their is no greater satisfaction. I thank all the donors who make this place special and a alternative for the animals. God Bless you!
