Mission: Angelwish was created to help busy people grant the holiday and birthday wishes of children living with chronic illnesses. In 2010, after 10 years of focusing on HIV/AIDS, Angelwish expanded its mission to include children living with chronic illnesses such as asthma, diabetes and kidney disease. Angelwish achieves its mission by ensuring that 100% of individual donations are used for program services and that those funds are extended, where possible, to incorporate an educational component giving young people a hands on lesson in philanthropy. By utilizing the Internet, Angelwish has developed a unique approach to community service. By performing on-line "digital philanthropy" donors are able to assist the large number of local area children living with HIV/AIDS in a convenient and rewarding manner. Angelwish also plans to organize various external events in a move to involve a great number of individuals from the corporate sector.

West Essex High School has been working with Angelwish for years. Our senior students are able to go into the elementary schools in our district and teach 3rd graders about philanthropy. It is truly an unbelievable experience for both the 3rd graders and our students as they head into college. West Essex also enjoys participating in a competition to see which club or sport can grant the most wishes!

I have been partnering with Angelwish, Inc. since 2016 for holiday giving. I enjoy using their global giving portal because it allows me to assist a child in the small, hometown where I grew up. Any gifts donated are given to the parent/caregiver to give directly to the child. This creates more meaning.

Medical expenses, chronic illness and hospital expenses are so expensive - and could crush anyone financially. I prefer making an impact supporting the hometown where I grew up. So many wonderful teachers, mentors, neighbors and adults helped me while growing up. It's important to remember that - and do the same.

Angelwish is one of the greatest non profits I have ever been involved with. They are as effective as they are unique in their mission. To be able to help families with children who suffer chronic illnesses while allowing the family to maintain their dignity is truly the spirit of altruism. Every time I discuss the work Shimmy and his team do with people who are not yet familiar with the organization I get chills and am brought to tears; as are those I speak with. Hands down one of the best non-profit organizations worldwide.

Angelwish is a great organization that does so much not only for children with chronic illnesses, but for their parents and the social workers helping their families. I had the opportunity to learn more of this organization through a corporate partnership program, in which we spent a day with children, taking them on a scavenger hunt through the Museum of Natural History and it was one of the best programs I’ve participated in. Shimmy is so passionate about this cause and dedicates a lot of time and energy into making it all happen. I look forward to becoming more involved with this inspiring organization!

As a donor, you look for a non-profit with a mission that you are passionate about and a business model that maximizes every dollar. Whether measuring Angelwish on scope (all children with chronic illness), scale (working with over 125 care centers on 6 continents) or efficiency (less than a handful of employees), you would be hard pressed to find a better alternative. Angelwish truly stands out by maximizing every single dollar donated while simultaneously providing the best experience for all parties involved!

We have been lucky enough to play in a Wiffle Ball Tournament with Angelwish and had a great time.. We are getting involved with some of the other great work that Shimmy is driving. We look forward to the holiday season where we can really see the benefits of Angelwish and get some help to kids in need.

In 2013, we had the wonderful experience to have Shimmy, angelwish and volunteers from JP Morgan Chase come to speak about philanthropy with my son and his third grade class. I was lucky enough to be a parent volunteer when our class went toy shopping with angelwish and the JP Morgan Chase volunteers at kidding around for children at Mt. Sinai Hospital. It was such an amazing experience for all of us that were involved. Shimmy is so wonderful with the kids and explaining the value of philanthropy when he spoke to the children and also selecting toys for the kids. He made such an impression on our class that we even made our annual auction project based on philanthropy and angelwish. The children felt so good about helping, giving back and learnt so much from Shimmy!! Thank you angelwish!

My child's class participated in a worthwhile 'giving spree' this year, alongside Angelwish, where the kids chose specific gifts for sick children at a local toy store. As a class chaperone that morning, I learned about the many wonderful elements to this inspiring non-profit. Whilst the children learned about philanthropy and budgeting, they also spent a meaningful and memorable morning,... giving back.

I met Shimmy and learned about the great work that Angelwish does back in 2007/2008. Shimmy has created an awe inspiring charitable organization that helps people in more ways than one. Angelwish helps children and parents infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. He also provides an invaluable opportunity for children to learn all about philanthropy. Through the amazing work of Angelwish, my 3rd grade students have had the opportunity for a life changing experience. They get to learn about needs and wants and how others can help. Most importantly, the students are empowered by a wonderful opportunity to give to those in need through Angelwish's "Giving Sprees." They serve as experts on toys and children while getting to feel the power of helping others! It is my belief that my students will be positively influenced by Shimmy and Angelwish for the rest of their lives! Thank you Shimmy for all that you do! You are truly an inspiration!!!

I've helped them with some different stuff over a few years and he is always behind everything and making sure everything works as planned, can't say enough good things about him and Angelwish, great organization!

I've been a part of this organization since it was started and its been an amazing thing to see it grow and survive through periods where most for profit businesses have had to close shop. Angelwish has taken a business approach to identifying problems and creating solutions that are long term and in everyone's benefit.

The Angelwish Foundation is an excellent organization and a true meaningful charity. This organization is dedicated to helping children and the communities which is truly an inspiration for us all. I attended the Wiffleball tournament a couple of years in a row and me and my colleagues had a tremendous fun time throughout those days. I am thankful that there are foundations that receive donations to help children. We look forward to upcoming events and hopeful to raise a ton of money for this charity!

I've know about Angelwish for sometime and what attracted me to volunteer was its simple, yet powerful mission of helping children with terminal illnesses. The program maximizes impact by involving those most influential in the child's life including parents and social workers. Further, the online platform makes it easy for individuals and corporations to be involved. I'd highly recommend this organization given the strong impact it's delivering to children here and abroad.

I first had the opportunity to be involved with Angelwish during my senior year in high school. I was involved with the wiffleball event which was both fun and rewarding for the community. Over the years, I have seen the great work of Angelwish to help children and the community and always am willing to volunteer when needed.

I helped out the organization's founder at a small happy hour event. His dedication to the cause is both outstanding and inspiring. What drew me to the organization is its dedication to the idea that small things can make a big difference. That instead of a trip to disneyland, simply being able to have christmas presents this year makes a world of difference. Keep doing what you're doing Shimmy!

Our program clients have been the recipients of Angelwish donations from the beginning of their organization. We work with families affected by HIV and AIDS. Some of the children and youth are HIV positive; some are the children of HIV positive parents or caregivers. Most of the families we work with are living in poverty and are affected by associated family disruptions. All the parents and caregivers want to give their children something special on their birthdays and during the Christmas holidays, but many of them cannot afford such toys. Many of the families would need to sacrifice rent, utilities or food money in order to buy their child a present. Here is where Angelwish is so remarkable. Each year they gather the ages and genders of the children and youth in our program then seek direct donations of toys and gifts for them. The toys and gifts are delivered directly to our program therefore they arrive in perfect condition for us to give to the parents or caregivers to give to their children. There are often tears of joy from the parents (and often also relief). The kids, of course, are thrilled. The toys are always top quality, popular toys. The kids are amazed that their families are able to give them the gifts. We often wish we could capture those special moments. It’s difficult for me to find just the right positive word that could convey how gratifying and touching these moments are.

I worked for a semester as an intern at Angelwish. The organization was in a transition phase while I was there, expanding their aim and activities to try and reach a larger population as well as figuring out how to function in a more environmentally benign manner. During my time at Angelwish I was able to see firsthand how much work, thought, and effort the staff put into running the organization every day. Shimmy, the founder, works tirelessly to come up with new ways in which he can improve Angelwish's services, as well as trying to measure the real impact Angelwish is having on their target population. One of my jobs as an intern was to collect stories from social workers, hospitals, and families who had worked with Angelwish. It was only after hearing their stories that I realized how much Angelwish really has touched many peoples lives. The organization exemplifies the way in which seemingly small thoughts and actions--donating a toy, giving a gift--can make a real impact on a child or parent's life. It really is not about the gift, but about the way in which giving and receiving a gift can help build and repair relationships between a parent and child.

I have been a fan of Angelwish since I was first introduced to them in roughly 2000. They demonstrated amazing leadership and spirit for a project with deep personal connection to me and my family. We have stayed connected over the years...and I'm still amazed at their graceful and thorough execution...with compassion. They continue to innovate and serve. I'm looking forward to watching them continue to grow and prosper.

Angelwish and its founder Shimmy Mehta have created something truly unique and special for the children it aims to help. The efforts to not just build awareness of chronic adolescent illness, but to also engage peers and instill in them an appreciation and understanding of the importance of philanthropy is helping create generations that are growing up to see charity as ubiquitous in their lives as going to school. It is an inspiring endeavor that time and again proves a success for all involved.

Angelwish is such an amazing charity. I recently completed a triathlon and while I was training, I was looking for a charity to raise funds for. When I came across Angelwish I thought this was the charity I wanted to help, but it was only after I was able to speak with the founder that I knew it was the one. Great people and a great cause!

Angelwish is such a great charity. In today's fast paced world, you are able to impact the life of a sick child with just a click of a computer mouse. It makes it possible for even the busiest donor, to get involved by granting a wish. Having the wishes online according to hospital/organization, you as the donor are able to bring a smile to a child, who needs it most, by never having to leave your home or office. I commend Anglewish for their vision and insight to key into technology in such a way.

I have had the pleasure of interacting with Angelwish for more than a year now. As a charitable organization I have been impressed with their operation. From executing on events to the way they operate on the business side I firmly believe Angelwish sets the bar. Passion, quality and caring go into everything they do. Its rare to find people who sacrifice so much time and resource to help others. My first experience with Angelwish was a toy/drive and shopping event in NYC and this was an absolute success. Angelwish was incredible in navigating us through the process and ensuring our companies employees understood everything. The big picture and details are firmly understood by Angelwish and I would be happy and honored to work with them any day of the week.

Angelwish has provided in-kind contributions to the AIDS Resource Foundation for Children for over 5 years. The Angelwish organization and mission truly works to meet the needs of children in vulnerable situations. They help support our work by providing gifts that uplift the spirits of the families who receive donations. We often get feedback from parents we work with that the ability to give their children presents during the holiday season has helped to strengthen family bonds and bring pride and joy during a most difficult time of year. We are truly grateful for Angelwish and their partnership!

I am a public school teacher in NYC and I have had the pleasure of working with Angelwish for the past few years. My students have gone on giving sprees and purchased gifts for children served by Angelwish. What has been the most incredible and surprising outcome of our work with Angelwish is the increase in my students' own self esteem and empathy. They very much realized they were creating holidays for children who otherwise wouldn't have received anything from their parents. I knew my students would enjoy picking out presents on the day of each giving spree, but I didn't anticipate that there would be an internal change triggered in my students that would last forever. I'm eternally grateful to Angelwish-- a truly unique organization.

I've supported the work between Angelwish and different schools across NYC. I've seen students raise money and then purchase gifts for children in need. The amount of learning the students do on each giving spree is truly impressive. At one school a group of third graders even initiated their own campaign to raise money for books! Anglewish nurtured the students all along the way- coming to the school to explain the charity, setting up kids to go on a giving spree and then sharing photos of the big event after. The entire process is critical to helping young children grow into future leaders, future givers.

I've seen Angelwish do what it does best on a number of occassions --- get other children and the community involved in helping change the difficult experiences of children living with chronic illnesses. As a volunteer during Angelwish's giving sprees, I've seen all of the generous donation money go toward those basic things that can make a sick child feel like a happy little boy or girl - books, toys, learning materials, etc. And all of this is done while teaching children more fortunate than those who struggle with chronic illnesses the importance of giving back. The zealousness and smiles that I have seen from children who help to pick out books and toys for sick children of similiar ages is probably only a hint of the big eyes and wide smiles that the work of Angelwish is able to put on the faces of sick children. The work that Angelwish does is so important to giving sick children the opportunity to feel the way all children deserve to feel.

I've volunteered with Angelwish INC several times in the past few years. This organization was a fundamental part of my Girl Scout Silver Award Project in 2006 and I would have been unable to achieve this award without the help of Angelwish. This great nonprofit hosts events like toy drives, which truly makes a difference in the lives of many children living with chronic illnesses. It provides these children with joys of being a child and happiness. It is absolutely a wonderful organization.
