I was fortunate to attend screening of “The Power of Positivity” a couple years back and the film made me cry. Plus, I was able to meet the young filmmaker, Alex Beaton. It was a very moving experience!
Angelight is an extraordinary organization with an extraordinary purpose. The challenges of continuing to bring joy to children whose lives are so weighted are many, but Angelight rises to them all with understanding, empathy and imagination. I was delighted to be able to work with them, and help bring such creativity to a group of young people.
Angelight Films is a magical organization. Stephanie has created a unique platform to help children with brain and spinal cord tumors find the light in times when it would be otherwise difficult to do so. I applaud their efforts and continue to support all they do.
Angelight Films is such a great organization that provides such a unique experience for kids to lift their spirits just a little bit during such a difficult time. As a screenwriter, it is so great to see the kids be able to learn about this craft early on and be able to tell the story of their choosing - making something come to life that they will be able to watch whenever they want! Definitely a supporter of Angelight and hope they will be able to do this for kids for a very long time.
Angelight films has changed my life. I was able to help create, conceive, direct their last short film “Tati’s Fashion Show” with 8 year old Cancer Survivor Tatianna Bernard. The entire process was not only rewarding, but life altering. The day we actually shot the film may have been the best day of my life. The trust and support of Stephanie Angel and Angelight Films as well as their guidance and template for success made this a perfect experience. Finally showing Tati’s film to her friends and family with a red carpet was the icing on the cake. I have since joined their board in a creative position and plan to be a part of their mission forever, as well as with my new friend Tatianna and her family. We are currently still playing in film festivals and Tati has won a few filmaker awards!! 5 stars for Angelight Films and then some!!
The work and mission of Angelight are so important. I've had the opportunity to work alongside Stephanie, her team, and even one of the subjects of their films. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional life--I'm certain everyone involved would say the same. The environment Stephanie creates for her subjects is so positive, informative, and full of love.
Angelight Films is a fantastic production company that genuinely cares about what and who they film. They make it their mission to work hard and put all their thought into their work. Angelight Films is a reliable production company. Working for Angelight Films is a great experience, they are very professional and kind hearted!
Angelight was founded by one of my closest friends, and I have the honor of serving as secretary on the board. However I am writing this story not as a board member, but as a parent of a child living with a brain tumor. My daughter was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive brain tumor at 22 months of age, and from that moment our lives were forever changed. Seeing the films that Angelight produces and knowing how they bring a smile to the faces of the children and families who make them, brings so much joy to my heart. The process or writing, producing, and acting in a film allows for unique creative expression, something that is not only therapeutic but also results in memories and happiness that will last a lifetime. One day I wish for my daughter to have this amazing experience, working along-side her dear friend. Thank you, Angelight, for all that you do for our families.
The mission and work Angelight Films has been doing is so amazingly unique. I first heard about them through a friend and since got involved helping with one of their latest short film productions. Stephanie is extremely dedicated to the work to provide these great opportunities to the kids and also has the experience to make their dreams a reality. Angelight Films also really provides great opportunities for people in the film and TV world to put their skills to use in a heartfelt, life-changing way.
What a marvelous organization doing important work to raise the spirits of sick children and their families. Concentrating on children with brain tumors Angelight Films gives these kids a voice and a project to transport them from the challenges of illness all the while introducing them to 21st century vocations by telling their stories in professionally made short videos. BRAVO ANGELIGHT
This is such an amazing nonprofit organization! I am uplifted by these children's stories. So much courage and strength. What positive attitudes! I love watching them get their 'Shine On'!!
My son is a survivor of a medulloblastoma (brain tumor) that took over the lives of our entire family when he was 12 years old, and then re-occurred when he was 15. He is now 30 years old and is doing very well. We are all forever grateful for organizations like Angelight Films, who do so much to shower light and hope into the lives of young cancer patients, interjecting happiness in a very sad and difficult time. We are huge fans of Angelight Films, because we know how special the work they do is. Their projects are full of energy and love for these beautiful children who need "Angels" in their lives.
I believe Angelight Films is truly an amazing organization! They impact the lives of so many children who have survived brain tumors and generously work hard to make these children's dreams come true. Children who experience brain and spinal chord tumors at such a young age must be so brave and have such amazing spirits. Angelight Films gives them a chance to express themselves and "just be kids," which is so special and valuable. My boyfriend is a 2-time cancer survivor and is very involved with Angelight, and I have heard nothing but good and inspiring things about this organization. I hope it will continue to grow and make an even greater difference in the world.
Angelight Films gives a voice to children in a difficult time and gives wings to their dreams. A friend is involved in this organization. He is a survivor and involved artistically. These are wonderful people working towards a noble mission.
A friend of mine is a survivor and a filmmaker, and he has nothing but great things to say about the work that Angelight Films does for children with brain and spinal cord tumors. These children have much to say and lots to contribute, and Angelight Films gives them a vehicle to express themselves. Bravo!
Angelight Films is such an amazing organization!!!! This is such an amazing idea and way to help kids with brain tumors. It's so thoughtful and really just incredible!!!!!
I am a two time brain cancer survivor and a filmmaker. I ran into Angelight Films representatives a year ago and instantly fell in love with what they do. They very much speak my language, and they immediately let me get involved within their community as a survivor and a filmmaker. Their founder, Stephanie Angel, has a pure and true heart for Children survivors of brain and spinal chord tumors, for filmmaking, and for people in general. This organization does amazing work and greatly impacts the lives of survivors and their families. I hope they grow and impact many more.
What this organization does for these children is phenomenal. A friend of mine volunteered there in the past and shared their work with me and I was inspired to be more optimistic even on my bad days because of these kids.I have watched the films and was moved by every single one of them. They are all so special in their own way and speak to us. Keep up the good work, Angelight Films!
In October of 2013, I met with Stephanie Angel with the hopes of becoming an intern. I had recently graduated from college, and wanted to get involved with a nonprofit organization that had an important social cause with personal and long-lasting results. After my meeting with Stephanie Angel, I quickly discovered that I had found one of those rare small nonprofit organizations, which is purely dedicated to its noble cause. It is an organization that I am proud to have been a part of.
Angelight Films consists of humble people who seek to encourage the talent of brave children, who have or are undergoing a traumatic experience. Within the initial meeting with a prospective Angelight Star, the child is acknowledge as a powerful leader with a strong message to tell the world, and that their crew is merely there to help them translate their ideas into film form. Over the course of a couple of months, strong bonds are made between the child and the crew, as the Angelight Star develops valuable skills during each stage of film production. Once a film is completed, a screening is held, where the child can share their work with their family, friends, and community.
Angelight Films is a one-time experience, but it has lasting effects. The children become stronger leaders and gain communicational, organizational, and disciplinary skills that are required in film production. The friendships formed during production are permanent, as Angelight Films never looses contact with their stars and their families.
I remember when I first found out about Angelight Films through the internet and was so inspired by the kids and the films that I knew I had to be a part of it. I reached out to Stephanie and met with her and loved it even more. I have been doing work for Angelight since then and I love every aspect of it. My favorite part of the whole process is meeting the children and seeing how much they shine throughout everything. They truly are special and I can't help but smile each time I watch Stephanie bond with them and help them see their worth. Angelight Films has truly opened doors for these kids and has helped them highlight their essence. Stephanie is truly an Angel and has made a platform for all children who have a dream and want to share it with the world. I am very proud to be a part of this organization and I am very excited for the future of Angelight Films.
We first heard of Stephanie and Angelight Films at Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with life threatening illnesses and their families. When Colin was first diagnosed with a brain tumor I wanted a window into the future. I wanted to know what life would be or could be like in 2,3 ,4 years into the future. I wanted hope. I knew that Colin could give others that hope that I so desperately wanted to see. Stephanie put that hope on film. Colin is bright , beautiful, and joyful and he has a story to tell. From the minute that Colin and Stephanie met it was as if their soles had known one another all along. She guided him through the creative process of writing a story, creating a script, picking costumes and performing. The result was magical. Stephanie and her dedicated crew captured Colin in all of his essence and innocence. Together they created a gift. A gift of hope and healing through the art of film.
I am Kyle’s mom and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Stephanie Angel and Angel Light Films. Angel Light Films has truly been a gift from above for us. Ever since Kyle was diagnosed with a brain tumor in June of 2008 I have felt deeply that what we were going through was going to help others. During his treatment this feeling only grew and it was when we attended a horse rehab program that I found out how Kyle would be able to express this journey. Stephanie spoke to Kyle and asked him if he wanted to make a movie. At first Kyle thought she was kidding but then realized she was serious. Stephanie gave Kyle a large drawing book and told Kyle to sketch out his how he would like his story to be told. Kyle wanted to thank everyone who helped him and show children who are newly diagnosed with a brain tumor that they can get through this and do things just like any other child can do. Stephanie gave Kyle a voice to express his journey and let the whole world hear it and that we thank her for. Many of our friends have watched these films and have told us how moved they were by Kyle and Lily’ stories. Thank you Stephanie and your crew for the amazing work you have done!
Angelight Films fulfills a very original need that has yet to be widely acknowledged among the western medicans. Nearly 100% of the time the focus of the people and professionals surrounding these sick children is on the cells and the proteins. They are handled like a kid that is sick, even when everyone tries not too. Yet unexplained, there is wisdom in these children that lends us to believe they placate to our feelings to protect us more than we do for them. Angelight finds these special children and provides them an outlet to show the world their inner light through their own filter in order that we may see what they are trying to teach us. Subtle lessons their souls pours out through their actions and daily interactions that are often left unnoticed by those that surround them. Through the medium of film and through Stephanie Angel's brilliance, the beautiful ideas of these children are scripted into films of their design and produced into magic pieces that embody the children's original intent. Very little is lost in translation from child's idea to feeling of the patron watching the film - that's the magic of Stephanie Angel - that's the magic of Angelight Films - that's the magic of these kids...
I am truly honored to be a part of Angelight Films. This organization touches so many hearts, including the families of the children involved with the organization. Stephanie is an amazing leader and role model, and we are blessed that she has shared her vision and created such an inspiring organization.
I am writing to let all of you know what an incredible experience we had with Stephanie and her organization. We first met Stephanie when she arrived at our home to meet Lily, our just turned 7 year old daughter. Lily was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor just before turning 3 years old. Stephanie asked Lily if she would like to make a movie, Lily was thrilled. Over the course of a few months, Lily wrote and directed her very own movie. The opportunity for Lily to express herself, to tell her story in a film was very empowering to her. She loved it. It was such a joyful process to witness, watching Stephanie and Lily and the crew bring it all together. Lily's film was the first for Angelight Films. We attended the first benefit for Angelight Films and were just amazed as we watched Lily's film and the next two films they made on the big screen. The entire evening was magical. Stephanie's vision, to honor her sister and bring to light the plight of these children with brain tumors is remarkable. Stephanie has given Lily a voice. She has given all of the children with brain tumors an opportunity to express themselves in any way they feel. We wish Stephanie and Angelight Films great success in the future and we thank them for giving us such a wonderful piece of our daughter which we will have forever and ever.
I think that Stephanie is doing a great job helping people.
Unfortunately, the brain tumor community is growing every day.
I know that she wants to help as many people as her possibilities allow.
I have a brain tumor, and I work as a patient coordinator, and it breaks my heart when a child is diagnosed with a tumor and the family can't afford the treatment.
I hope that she reaches her goal to help the people who really need people like her.
God bless you,
As someone who has known Stephanie Angel's Family and all that inspired her to create AngeLight Films, I was completely touched by the organization's mission and the films showcased at the launch. AngeLight is no doubt filling an important role for children with brain tumors and their families. I can only imagine the joy and creativity that is yet to come from this non profit and the youngsters it serves. Stephanie truly is an angel.
I can clearly see that Angelight Films has offered much inspiration and healing to the children with brain tumors and their families. The entire process of creating a film, start to finish was done with much compassion, sensitivity and professionalism. Clearly, Stephanie has a vision and all the people involved in helping to carry it out are extraordinary souls that really understand it. I wish Angelight Films tremendous success in moving forward, giving many more children the gift of creating their own short film!
Stephanie has done a great job in putting together this organization. The videos provide a wonderful expression for the children and a lasting gift for their families. Continued success with helping as many families through your heartfelt gifts.
I recently volunteered at the organization's inaugural fundraiser. It was tremendously rewarding to support such a wonderful organization. They should be commended for the great work they do.
what a wonderful non-profit this is. there is nothing quite as healing as creative expression and I can think of no better population to introduce it to. The films were amazingly uplifting and I look forward to more.
"The best reason to develop a non-profit organization is to answer a call that your life has made to you. When Stephanie Angel was a child, her little sister died. The impact of this circumstance has profoundly and miraculously determined Stephanie's destiny. Now as a young woman, she has gathered her skills and talents to create films of young children whose bright life force can now be immortalized.
Out of loss has come great beauty, from Stephanie's heart, Andreas' exquisite cinematography and the children's luminescent souls."
I am honored to be associated with and to support this wonderful organization. Watching Stephanie Angel's vision unfold and manifest has been an inspiration. Her own heart was deeply touched by her sister's short life and she has transformed that pain into joy with Angelight Films, Inc. As she shares her love and opens hearts with these intimate and revealing films. Brava!
It was rewarding to help get such an inspirational organization up and running. The pride and sense of accomplishment these children feel from the films created by Angelight is intoxicating and imperative to their continued growth and vitality.
The impact of this organization is enormous - the children, the families, and the community who all feel the sense of pride and accomplishment from these films is incredible. Kudos to a vision and a reality that is making more of a difference than we may ever be able to measure.
This is a wonderful organization providing a unique opportunity for children afflicted with a serious disease to partake in something rewarding , creative and enjoyable. To see the films at the fundraiser and the look on the children's faces when they were given awards was priceless. What a gift for these children and their families to experience something so rewarding. Hopefully they will receive much needed funding in order to expand those they can reach.
I am honored to be a board member of this marvelous organization. To experience the growth of this organization as a mere idea to something that has truly touched people in a meaningful way is one of my fondest experiences in life.
I am very excited for the organization's future and what it could mean for the children Angelight seeks to touch.
Angelight Films Incorporated provides children with brain and spinal cord tumors the opportunity to tell their story from their perspective. The child lays out his ideas and with Angelight Film's supervision and expertise his/her story is documented into a short film. What a creative idea to give children with brain and spinal cord tumors the freedom to tell their story the way they see it. Each of the three films I have seen reflect the child's own outlook: unstoppable and positive, gracefully artistic, regal. Angelight Films is to be commended for creating such a unique opportunity.
This was an amazing and touching event. The children, the films and their story made the night special, magical and unforgettable. The films were very professional and captivated each child's essence.
The children are wise, creative and has a voice that needs to be heard. Stephanie and the angelight team made that a reality and I am looking forward to see what other films they create.
Nothing has given me a greater sense of reward than volunteering for Angelight FIlms. The staff is incredible. The children they work with are amazing. I'm so excited to see their future work and to see this incredible new charity grow to be able to enrich and embolden more people's lives.
Angelight is an incredible organization, whose mission is pure, impact real, and potential enormous. I feel privileged to be a part of such a tremendous movement.
