We have been to several parrot sanctuaries in Florida and this is by far the best. Cindy is absolutely amazing with the parrots and knows the history of each one. The facility is very clean and climate controlled. The diet is healthy and includes fruits and vegetables. A top-notch facility!!
The only place I would leave my birds when I go away. I know they will get excellent care, will be clean and well fed. Beyond that, they will be loved by the owner and volunteers who interact with all the birds daily. The Rescue treats every bird the same, they are all special and get whatever they need. If you spend time at the Rescue, you too will fall in love with the birds. Most are friendly and want attention as they wait to find that special person and a forever home. They do not just sit in a cage, waiting. They are encouraged to be part of the flock and interact with other birds if they want to and interact with volunteers and visitors. This is an exceptional rescue run by remarkable woman who loves all the birds, the ones available for adoption and the ones that will be with us forever, which is totally OK.
I adopted 3 of my beautiful babies from Angel Wings and I could not be happier. They were frightened at first but now are loving birds; I believe it is because they were treated so well at Angel Wings. Extremely clean facility, the birds are given high quality food, and lots of love. Birds have 24/7 on-site care, in case something is needed. This all volunteer operation runs like clockwork thanks to Founder, Cindy Nichols and her dedication to giving these birds a safe, happy environment while waiting to be adopted into their forever home. It is a labor of love our community is lucky to have. Every community should be so lucky. When I am away, I board my birds at Angel Wings because I know they will be taken care of as I would care for them. You can’t ask more than that!
I was trying to help my sister find a bird. She had gotten scammed trying to buy a bird. I was in a Drs office one day started a conversation with a very nice lady. And she gave me this rescues information. Cindy Mccaw Nichols info I passed it on to my Sister. We went down to visit the rescue and it was awesome. She adopted an African Grey named Mori(Amore). And I am going to adopt one as well. Waiting for it to become available. Cindy definitely loves her babies. It's awesome if you plan to adopt this is the place to go. For serious adoption only. Help anyway you can by making donations to help.
I have been a volunteer with Angel Wings for over 3 years. It is by far the best rescue I have ever had the pleasure to visit. We take in any parrot in need, and there is a never ending need. The birds come with many different stories but always in need of a safe loving home. Angel Wings is glad to provide that safe, loving place. The rescue serves the correct diet for each bird lots of great fresh food, a clean cage done at least once a day (sometime more as needed), twice daily fresh water, plenty of love and lots of playtime if the bird wants to interact with the volunteers. The rescue is clean, the volunteers are loving and the birds are safe. This nonprofit runs totally on donations and money is always needed. All adoption fees are returned directly to the rescue for the care of the next bird in need. Consider a donation, consider volunteering, you can make a difference in a bird’s life.
I have been volunteering for over 3 years now. Everybody is dedicated especially Cindy. All birds and facility are kept clean! I board my parrots here and they are really spoiled! Highly recommended!
What a great place, I have adopted 4 birds from here. The place is amazingly clean with all the birds and the birds well cared for. Everyone is so friendly.
I have been volunteering at Angel wings for over a year now and I absolute adore this place. Cindy is wonderful and I love her to pieces, all of the birds are beyond well taken care of and I’ve gotten the pleasure of adopting my two birds from here.
Angel Wings Parrot Rescue is beyond amazing, were all like a big family. The birds are so loved and taken care of well, I love volunteering here so much, it's very rewarding and I love helping rehabiliting the birds.
My husband and I have been volunteering for and fostering birds and purchase ing out cages and bird toys from Angel Wings for about 3 months. Cindy Macaw Nichols, the owner and founder, is one of the most dedicated and compassionate birds people I know. The rescue is very clean and well organized. The birds are well fed, watered, cleaned and socialized and loved. Cindy runs a very tight ship. We all get very detailed instructions on bird care. 5 of my flock have come from Cindy's. Going to this rescue makes my week! We really enjoy this marvelous rescue. I would also trust Cindy to take care of my birds.
Awesome parrot rescue, birds are in a clean well loved environment. There is such a need for a rescue like this. It takes a team of dedicated people to run this. I am proud to volunteer there.
Angel Wings Parrot Rescue in Malabar Florida has a large group of dedicated people who's main goal is to help parrots in need. I am a volunteer there and cannot say enough about this non-profit. Our sayin is "it is all about the birds". ❤️
Angel Wings Parrot Rescue is an outstanding facility. This loving and caring Rescue is run by an amazing woman, Cindy Nichols. Cindy and her staff of volunteers take in all kinds of birds, from all kinds of situations and give them a safe haven. It is so clean that it sparkles. The birds are healthy, happy and loved. They are nursed when ill and nurtured beyond belief. For Cindy, this is not a job...this is her calling....24/7. Loving homes with fully vetted applicants are found for many of the rescued feathered friends and some have a permanent home with Cindy due to their special health issues. Cindy works extremely hard, and non-stop for these helpless birds. She educates her community about long term care and correct feeding habits and is a fantastic member of our birding community.
This is an extremely clean, well organized rescue. Cindy is loving and caring to each and every bird that comes her way. ALl animals in fact. Highly recommend going by to check out her rescue.
Exceptional rescue, founder and volunteers go above and beyond to keep the birds healthy and happy. Every adoption is completed in the best interest of the bird. A happy place everyone should visit if they have the opportunity.
We adopted our Severe Macaw from Angel Wings about 18 months ago and we were so pleased and impressed by the compassion, cleanliness and love that shines through at the rescue that we adopted two more parrots over the last year. Because of our awesome experiences, I became a volunteer and I absolutely love my time there. The owner of the rescue is, quite literally, an angel.
We adopted our Severe Macaw and our Derbyan Parakeet from Angel Wings and couldn't be happier. The love and care these parrots receive is evident everywhere you look. Cindy and her volunteers are knowledgeable and friendly and ensure that right parrot is matched to each potential adopter. I can't recommend this rescue highly enough. If you're considering adopting a bird, this is the place to come.
Angel Wings Parrot Rescue is run by a very special woman and a hand full of volunteers. The travel constantly for the benefit of the birds and come from as far away as Canada to help. They laugh over the antics of the birds they help and cry over the ones that they can’t help. Everything is done for love. I have adopted birds there because they told me they love me. I now volunteer there too. I drive 85 miles each way to get there. We help small kids petting zoos with their birds. Rescue birds in trees. Get birds hit by flying golf balls. Take in birds that are expected to die and help birds that are emotional basket cases. There are parrots with broken hearts and shattered wings. There is one with a fractured spine that gets his cage cleaned a dozen times a day. Paco can’t walk, but, he gets love and attention. He cusses like a sailor, but, it sounds so very sweet when he say it. Cindy makes it all happen 7 days a week and 365 days a year. All of the 75+ birds there love her. Someone there needs you!
Angel Wings Parrot Rescue is the cleanest rescue that I've ever walk into. The birds are fed premium products and get lots of attention. They even go on outings. I have two of their cockatoos here and they are the sweetest birds in the world. The biggest ingredient at Angel Wings is love. I was so impressed that I joined and became a Board Member. Come check us out.
Angel Wings Parrot Rescue is all about the birds. The place is immaculate, the bird's cages are full of interactive toys, they always have clean water and fresh food, they get outside of their cage playtime. These rescue birds are pampered!!
Fantastic rescue, communicates really well with potential families, Cindy spent a good amount of time talking and making sure I was a good fit for my parrot I adopted from them. Angel Wings is very active in the community as well, participating in local events and trying to find good homes for their resident birds.
