This nonprofit organization is perfect. Since they are 100% volunteer-based, the donations go where it should - for the programs for the children! This non-profit exists for the children who need the assistance. It is obvious that the volunteers care deeply for the children who are served through the various programs. I've donated to this non-profit for over 15 years and I've seen the growth of the programs and more children benefitting throughout the years. I work hard for my money, but I'm more than happy to donate to such a great cause when it makes a big impact on the lives of these children. Thanks for creating a great non-profit! Barb
Angel Covers is an exceptional organization that has helped needy children for many years. I have known the principal organizer since the beginning and her dedication is second to none. Their goal to help and support these overseas orphanages is truly remarkable. They have helped and saved thousands of children over the years and they indeed are a Top Rated nonprofit.
I have known about Angle Covers since its humble inception and I am in awe about how it is organized and the work that it accomplishes. Not many charitable organizations can accomplish their goals with an all-volunteer staff but Angle Covers manages to do that very nicely. One always has to wonder how much of what they give actually gets to the folks in need, but no worries with this wonderful organization. They are very careful how your gifts are distributed and travel to the orphanages they support insuring that there is little if any waste. We all understand the need and importance of supporting charities and without question, this group of volunteers will see that your gifts are placed where they can do the most good in orphanages around the world. Try them out as it will make you smile.
All the best attributes you would hope to find in a grass-roots non-profit: low administrative expenses, responsive, transparent, effective. I have sent a monthly donation for years and will continue my support.
I have had the honor and privilege of supporting Angel Covers as a board member since 2014. The work they do to help orphaned and impoverished children is amazing. Their GATE program is of particular importance to me as it helps to save young girls from being trafficked by their own families struggling against poverty. Every little bit helps to save a life!
I have supported Angel Covers for years as a casual observer and "friend" of the Board. The more I learned about the great work they do, how comprehensive it is compared to other nonprofits that focus on one or two needs, the more involved I wanted to become. When a spot of the Board opened up, I leapt at the chance to participate! This charity truly looks at the entire ecosystem surrounding orphaned and impoverished children, from nutrition/medical needs to housing and education. It's helping to create a strong foundation on which these children will have better lives and help to break the vicious cycle of poverty.
I have been involved as a volunteer and board member for many years, in full agreement of the mission of Angel Covers which is to provide hope for the children in difficult and challenging situations. Shelter, food, health care, education and most of all, love and compassion, have been, and continue to be, provided to many vulnerable children who have not only grown but flourished with our involvement in their lives.
Angel Covers is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable children around the world. I love their education program in Thailand, which helps prevent the trafficking of young girls. This work is so important, and I'm happy to volunteer my time to support these bright students.
One reason I have spent ten years volunteering with this nonprofit is their commitment to educating girls and gender empowerment on the Tibetan Plateau. Other reasons are the extremely low administrative costs, all-volunteer team, dedication to the children served, and emphasis on working with locals to achieve goals. Angel Covers has cared for thousands of orphaned and impoverished children around the world, and does so with passion and integrity.
Angel Covers is completing its first year supporting the education of girls in northern Thailand thru its GATE (Girls Advocacy Through Education) program which has been highly successful. The organization hopes to expand these opportunities for girls as funding allows. Earlier this year, the decision was taken to hire a full-time Health Coordinator for Humble Hearts School for the Deaf in Nairobi, Kenya, which AC has supported for more than 10 years. This is a particularly exciting expansion of AC's support for HH, and reinforces Angel Covers' commitment to the whole child--provision of shelter, nutrition, healthcare, and education.
Last year Angel Covers rolled out a new program called Girls Advocacy Through Education or GATE. Angel Covers does a lot of research before starting any new programs and this one was no different. This program in Thailand helps open the gates of opportunity to at-risk girls. Many girls in this area must discontinue their education at an early age because their families cannot afford to pay school expenses. Once they leave school, many must either find work doing menial labor, or stay home to care for elderly grandparents or younger siblings. Alarmingly, they are also at risk of being trafficked when they are not safely being monitored at school. I can't think of a better way to protect girls than to give them the education they need to get a better job and become self sufficient. No one can take their education from them.
Angel Covers continues to support key programs, like GATE, with extremely low overhead/administrative costs. I continue to support Angel Covers for their holistic approach to children and their low administrative costs.
Angel Covers is run by a dedicated group of volunteers. This has allowed Angel Covers to spend the majority of donations on programs as opposed to administrative costs. The organization has kept focus on doing a set number of programs well and not spreading their resources to thin. This organization has continued to stay true to its mission of providing food, shelter, education and medical support to impoverished children.
I love Angel Covers. It was my greatest privilege to volunteer my time in the past to their cause. While I am no longer able to volunteer due to my crazy work schedule, my husband I continue to sponsor a little girl from Humble Hearts in Kenya.
I am both a volunteer as well as a donor. From the very inception of Angel Covers, my husband and I have help support children in Thailand, China, and Africa. I have had the incredible opportunity to travel with Kari Fillmore, Angel Covers founder, to both China and Africa. While there I witnessed the amazing life changing work that this completely volunteer foundation is making for children. All the teachers and orphanage staff personnel are so dedicated and appreciative of the Angel Covers’ supported programs and report back to the foundation through email, letters and pictures on a regular basis. I am very proud of our daughter, Kari Fillmore, and to be a small part of this foundation! The lives and future of so many children are being enhanced daily through the dedication and commitment of the Angel Covers Foundation.
This is an amazing non profit with a far-reaching positive influence on children throughout the world. It has been my perviledge to be a financial supporter as well as a volunteer for over 10 years. I have traveled and witnessed first hand the work Angel Covers accomplishes with the totally unselfish non paid staff. The values and mission of this foundation have never wavered since it’s inception.
Angel Covers put on an amazing fundraiser at a local brewery last week and it was great to hear about the programs mission statement and main goal of ending the poverty cycle across the world.
This organization has been helping kids worldwide for more than ten years and I'm especially impressed with their holistic approach, making sure that each child has adequate shelter, nutrition, and healthcare so that he/she can fully benefit from the education that Angel Covers makes sure they get. And, the new GATE program in Thailand is especially exciting, keeping young girls in school so they aren't trafficked.
Angel Covers is my all time favorite charity. They have good work going on in both Africa and Asia and is an all volunteer organization. This non-profit is all heart.
My wife and I have supported Angel Covers for several years - and are truly proud of the work they do. Knowing the Executive Director personally was a big factor in our original donations, but following the growth and development of the program(s) and the sincere efforts to put 100% of all donation into their work has been the basis for our continuing support. We are proud of being members of the Angel Covers' group! David & Laureen Moody
Hello, I have volunteered for Angel Covers and seen first hand in Nairobi how kids lives are transformed, especially deaf children who because of Angel Covers’ support receive an education—in Kenyan Sign Language—they would likely never get otherwise. Humble Hearts has gone from a small school cobbled together to a true campus with strong buildings where kids can live, play, and learn in safety and security. Angel Covers brings them fruit, which to poor communities is not always available or affordable, they provide nutrition programs, vitamins, supplies of all kinds for school and life. Angel Covers does wonders for real people around the world!
I've seen the Humble Hearts School for the Deaf in Nairobi first hand- it's an amazing testament to how Angel Covers converts donations into action. It's a phenomenal school in one of the most challenging places you can imagine (the combination of low income and the social stigma of deafness in Kenya), and Angel Covers does an amazing job of making their growth possible. I'm particularly impressed by how they have this kind of professional impact while keeping administrative overhead to practically zero. Show me another organization that does more with each dollar of a donation and I'll.....well, it doesn't matter what I'd offer to do b/c you can't find an example!
I have been working with Angel Covers for one year now in the role of Nutrition Director, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. I chose to work with Angel Covers because of its 100% nonprofit practice, allowing for all donations to go solely to the children being served. This role has allowed me to not only use my skills and expertise in nutrition, but to develop upon these skills further. I have many ambitious ideas for the coming years as we work to improve the nourishment and quality of living for children around the world.
Angel Covers dedication to helping children break the cycle of poverty continues to go strong. This growing, volunteer run, non-profit focuses on programs aimed at meeting the basic needs of shelter, education, nutrition and medical for children (and their families). Alleviating these burdens gives them the opportunity to make strides toward a better life and being a volunteer run organization allows for many more dollars to go into the programs apposed to overhead. Being a part of this remarkable organization that is making such an impact and supporting its mission is a privilege.
As my family and I continue to be involved with Angel Covers we are inspired by the volunteers and especially the kids. The volunteers and donors, many of whom have been a volunteer or donor for years, give tirelessly of their time, spirit and resources to help children see their potential, strive for their dreams and make great strides in building great lives as they grow. The kids bring their incredible spirit, hunger for knowledge and desire to expand their skills. The children the Angel Covers assists are not just looking for a handout or hoping for the best, they are dedicated to shape their futures with the help of all involved. Without the great volunteers and our very generous donors we wouldn't have the opportunity to help so many deserving children to develop into wonderful and productive adults.
My wife and I have been supporters of Angel Covers for some time now.
We sponsor a child in Humble Hearts, and are always amazed by the work Angel Covers does at the school, as well as their other programs around the world.
It’s such an incredible thing to receive the updates regarding the students, and we always get a hand written letter from the children we sponsor, which is just lovely.
Angel Covers are a truly exceptional Nonprofit, one that we shall continue support in the future.
Angel Covers is close to my heart. We have tied blankets for these orphans since it's inception. We are honored to help anyway we can. We see all the good Angel Covers provides worldwide. The organization is selfless & goes beyond it's budget to help those children in need.
Angel Covers does wonderful work for kids in orphanages, especially in China and Africa. They do amazing work to provide educational and nutritional support to the many kids who have been orphaned in those countries. And they do this with an all volunteer staff, which is rare these days. Their work is without a doubt one of the most worthwhile charitable organizations!!
I have known of this charity and its great work since its inception. I can't think of another charity that does such great work and uses nearly 100% of the donations received to serve its clients. Thank you Angel Covers for all the work that you do.
I first became aware of Angel Covers (AC) when I met Beatrice Anunda, founder of Humble Hearts School for the Deaf in Nairobi, on her visit to the US in 2008. We went on to sponsor two children at Humble Hearts, and gradually learned about other important work that AC was doing in Asia on behalf of children. My wife and I really like their emphasis on education for less-privileged kids such as deaf children, orphans, and girls in societies where they have less opportunities than boys. When asked to become a board member a year ago, I gladly accepted.
Angel Covers is a small, highly effective NGO that supports a school for the deaf in Nairobi and an orphanage in China. Director Kari Fillmore is highly dedicated and works for no salary, indeed, paying many Angel Covers-related expenses from her own pocket; hence, administrative overhead is negligible (stamps, etc. are about all). Several other administrative volunteers also work for no salary. Funds are raised through individual contributions, an annual fund raiser dinner, contributions through the AmazonSmile program, and other sources.
Angel Covers does amazing work all around the world, and particularly in China and Africa. And, they do it with an all-volunteer staff, which is rare to find these days. The volunteers work hard to implement programs, and keep donors in the loop. When a need is identified, money is quickly raised to fund it.
We've been involved with Angel Covers since it started, and honestly feel this nonprofit is worthy of the title Great Nonprofits!
My wife and I are long term supporters of Angel Covers. For many years, we have sponsored a child at Humble Hearts school in Kenya. Every year we receive updates regarding their progress, and also a letter from the child themselves. It really is remarkable that our small donation is capable of making so many changes in these kids lives, but this is entirely possible through the hard work of Angel Covers. The effort and care of everyone involved is continuous. Everyone involved in Humble Hearts school, are absolutely committed to the education, care and general wellbeing of all the children in their care. The work that they do is undoubtedly providing these kids with the best possible chances for the future. We are, and will continue to be proud to support this wonderful charity.
This will be my 11th year to somehow be involved with Angel Covers as a sponsor or as a volunteer. Great organization. True hearts. Efficient financial stewards. Dedicated sponsors and purposeful projects. So much more can be done through this small but mighty organization!
Angel Covers hosted a great event of wine tasting, food, and a silent auction. They shared their history and a personal story of a few of the children. It was very inspiring to see all of these people coming together in support of this wonderful nonprofit. They definitely do great work and touch many lives to make them better!
n 2002 a spark ignited between two women wanting to make a positive difference in lives of Chinese orphans. Fifteen years later, Angel Covers has grown and expanded into many countries and has changed the lives of children throughout the world. This foundation is remarkable in many ways not the least of which is that all the worldwide work is carried out by volunteers, none of which has ever received any compensation for their time and expenses. I have volunteered with this foundation since 2006 and my husband and I have been monthly/annual donors since it's inception. The driving force of each volunteer is to do all we can to help all children become independent, empowered adults breaking the cycle of poverty by providing education, nutrition, shelter, and medical care. By visiting www.angelcovers.org, you too will become inspired by the accomplishments of the Angel Covers organization. Please consider being part of this remarkable foundation when making your monetary donation decisions and further, consider any volunteer hours you may have.
I first learned of Angel Covers in 2008 after hearing a talk by Beatrice Anunda, founder of Humble Hearts School for the Deaf in Nairobi, Kenya. Angel Covers is a very important partner in furthering the work of HH. My wife and I traveled to Nairobi with the Executive Director in 2009 and were utterly amazed at the amount of positive impact the school was having on its 300 students, all being educated in a makeshift school building made from corrugated iron and saplings. Fortunately, with major help from Angel Covers, Humble Hearts was able to build a permanent structure housing both the school and dormitories for students that needed to stay at the school, and Humble Hearts moved in during the following year.
My wife and I have continued to support Angel Covers and Humble Hearts through the years, and this year I was invited to join the Board of Angel Covers. Over the last several years Angel Covers has assisted the school in expanding its nutrition, healthcare, and shelter programs and has helped launch a program by which older students are now equipped with Kindle readers so they can access a far broader selection of textbooks and other reading material. AC is an NGO that has truly made a huge difference in the lives of many, many children, all with minimal or no overhead.
We've been supporting Angel Covers since 2008 and it is truly a worthy, grass roots organization. My wife and I visited one of their supported institutions, Humble Hearts School for the Deaf in Nairobi in 2009, and did volunteer work for a week. The staff works for small salaries and are very dedicated to giving a quality education. In addition, communication to those of us who continue to sponsor a child is regular and substantive, reinforcing our satisfaction in continuing our support. And, best of all, all Angel Covers personnel are volunteers and the minimal necessary overhead is covered by contributions specifically for that purpose, so 100% of sponsorship contributions and other donations go directly to the benefit of the people beng helped.
I have been involved with this organization as a donor, a peripheral volunteer, and a key coordinator, for over ten years. I continue to want to become more and more active as I see the most direct result for my efforts, time, and dollars here. Earnest efforts, good solid decisions for worthy projects, faithful stewards of sponsorships and donations. Thrilled for the opportunity to support and participate!
This organization is small, but mighty. It accomplishes much with dedicated donors, and a handful of volunteers. I am really impressed by the passion people bring to each project. Knowing that a child will eat, learn, and have a warm place to call home is wonderful.
Humble Hearts School based in Nairobi Kenya salutes Angel covers for the
great work they have done in bettering the lives of children and their
families in Kenya. Humble Hearts having partnered with Angle Covers
since 2004 has gone through great transformational shift to both its
children and the community around i wish to share two episodes here.
My story is told of a young boy named John Macharia, who was born deaf
and mute, being the first born in a family of three children it took his
parents time to accept their son's disability and just after it had sank
down and were slowly learning on how to help him cope did they realise
there was yet another challenge. John was not growing as per his age,
when he was one year old he looked like a baby of only a few months, they
took him to a National hospital and it was discovered John had a heart
problem which needed to be fixed for him to live a normal live like
Coming from a poor family that lived from hand to mouth one meal a day
the family was not able to raise the money that the hospital needed for
his surgery and treatment and so yes they left everything to God hoping
for a maricle.
John joint HH in 2006 at the age of about 11yrs, he looked weak but
happy he had no idea that he had any problem, he could not play for long
with the other children and he looked half his age. We called the
parents to inquire more and they brought in a pile of letters from the
hospital showing John's condition and the money they needed to raise. I
remember the mother crying and asking for us to step in and help not
knowing iwe too were helpless, where could we get such a big a mount of
money when we have other challenges of feeding the children of HH.
John was then staying at the Angel Cottage because he could not commute
to school due to lack of bus fares, one night i called him and touched
his chest i immediately withdrew my hand because his heart bit was not
normal,it felt like many little veins rushing blood in circles, anyway
it was a freighting feel and i immediately knew something had to be
I email the director of Angel Covers who shared John's story to many
nice people who quickly step in and together raised funds for John to go
for an open heart surgery as needed
John healed well after the surgery and so did his health, he started
gaining weight, some chubby chicks could be seen and yes his health
become better and better everyday. By the time John was graduating from
HH his body and age were as should be.
I was in a bus last month and i was suprised at how he has grown to be a
tall handsome young man and i smiled to myself as i remember that one
long day when we had to run through hospital corridors to ensure that he
gets the best treatment and yes he did get the best treatment and from
the best surgeons in Kenya.
His parents and HH family are forever greatful for how Angel Covers
stepped in to help a young lad who truely needed help. The dreams of his
parents seeing thier child grow up as a normal child were realised just
because one good nonprofit helped to tell the story. Attached is a photo
of Macharia recovering in hospital after surgery.
Many thanks and hope for Angels Covers to be voted among the best non
Director Humble Hearts school
I have been a donor since the inception of this wonderful non-profit foundation. Several years ago when my daughter, the founder of Angel Covers, asked if I'd also volunteer, I was proud to do so. I know of no other foundation with such an exceptional record of accomplishments while doing so using only volunteers from all over the world. No one involved in Angel Covers receives any financial benefit but does receive a great deal of personal gratification. Angel Covers consists of a passionate group of people making a difference in many ways, in many places, for many children. Truly an outreach from the hearts of individuals to children in need.
I've been a fan of this non profit since its inception. They never loose their enthusiasm, drive, and desire to seek out ways to help the suffering and disadvantaged children of the world. It's unbelievable all the good that is happening with a totally volunteer foundation. I know of no other non profit that contributes over 95% of all monies directly to its mission and vision.
We heard of Kari several years ago. We became donors, and have been constantly impressed with the dedication and compassion that she gives to children everywhere. Every penny raised for Angel Covers is used for the children and/or their direct benefit, and she squeezes each one for its' full value !! This is an amazing group, and we support and admire them so much.
I've been involved with Angel Covers for quite a few years now and have been continually impressed with the accomplishment and committment that everyone demonstrates, despite our small size. If you're looking for somewhere to donate or volunteer, you're contribution will be well spent with Angel Covers.
In the wake of a turbulent world, there are moments of light we need to seek out. Angel Covers gives light an hope to so many that would not have the support otherwise. Great Organization!
You won't find more passionate people than those who dedicate their time to Angel Covers. They are completely committed to their mission of providing holistic care to orphaned and impoverished children around the world. Their dedication to their cause inspires greatness in everyone around them.
I have been involved with Angel Covers, both as a volunteer and a donor, for the past 3+ years. I have witnessed quite a bit of growth and development in the organization's overall plans and goals. It never seizes to amaze me how much the volunteers and the sponsors are able to make happen for the children of the programs, especially in dire situations. As a donor, I'm confident that my money goes directly to support the children. I can't wait to see what impact Angel Covers is able to make in the future and I consider myself lucky to be a part of it.
I've been involved with Angel Covers for several years and, from the beginning, I have been impressed by the impact and reach the organiazation has thanks to the dedication and hard work of the
Executive Director, donors and volunteers who do so much to help children around the world.
Wonderful organization. We helped take some much needed supplies to orphanages in China during our last Chinese Adoption Trip. Everyone at this organization has a tremendous heart for orphans and for children in need. The money donated goes directly into the programs and feeds and educates the children - what a great way to make a difference!
Angel Covers is a modest but mighty and effective organization. I have been a donor for many years and a volunteer. I know well that funds are used frugally with careful consideration for their most effective work. --a great investment of our financial and energy support!
GREAT organization. Hardworking, dedicated; all moneys support the interests and needs of the children Angel Covers has sought to partner with and assist. Proud to be a part of this nonprofit.
Provides baby formula to the orphanage where my daughter is from!
Angel Covers helps so many children around the world. The program that is near and dear to my heart is their nutritional support at Huaibei, Anhui Social Welfare Institute where my youngest daughter spent several months when she was an infant. Please visit their website and see all the great things they are doing! You can send your support with confidence that you will be making a very positive impact in a child's life.
I have been both a volunteer and a donor to Angel Covers. I have supported a student until she graduated, have made blankets that went over to Chinese orphanages, and have bought gift cards as Christmas gifts for teachers, relatives and friends to support various programs that Angel Covers manages. I love to see the results of the time and money I have donated doing good for so many children who are in great need of this assistance.
AngelCovers is an amazing organisation of volunteers supporting children. This is my way of giving back to the country where my adoptive girls were born. Knowing tha I am supporting minority girls has been wonderful and thanks to the assistance by AngelCovers I was able to meet the current sponsored students last year and my colleagues students and to visit their homes. It was AMAZING - the most amazing feeling was felt with those who had the least - to see them smile despite their difficulties was amazing. And their lifestyle is so simple and yet the hospitality was amazing offering you a homemade tiny stool next to their manure fired fuel stoves with home made breads and yak tea (OK they joke because yak is a male not female, the female yak has a more difficult name us Westerners can't easily say).
I can not say enough good things about AngelCovers and their support of Tibetan girls in their China program - it is top class. They keep focussed on supporting as many students as possible despite the limited facilities.
The hospitality, the anticipation for their futures, the gorgeous mountains, yaks and sheep running along the mountainsides are things I will never forget. And the AngelCover staff are so supportive - thank you Kari, Angela, Rinchen and others.
We've supported Angel Covers for many years now. We are on our third college student now and have graduated two doctors! What a difference these girls will make in the world but also change the perspective in their small villages that believes girls should be married off at young ages. Angel Covers definitely has their heart in the right place and communicate well with their donors. I believe the best way to change the world is through education.
I have known Kari Fillmore, the founder of Angel Covers, for several years through the First United Church of Arvada, where we both are members (I am a former elected Moderator) and she and her husband have been tireless workers for the Church, which has been appreciated Kari asked me to join the Baord of Angel Covers this year after I pointed out there should be more men on the Board.
As a nonprofit, this is woderful. I have served on several boards, including one college's, and this one works hard!
I hope this gets top designation, because it deserves it.
The Angel Covers team goes above and beyond to make sure donations truly make a difference to the amazing children in the areas they serve. Each member of this team is professional, dedicated, and caring.
I discovered Angel Covers while researching my annual holiday charity (something my family does at Christmas in place of exchanging gifts.) I was initially impressed with the fact that 98 percent of the donations go directly to the children. My little girl is Blantina at the Humble Hearts School in Nairobi. I have her smiling photo tacked to my fridge. My monthly donation is automatically taken out of my PayPal account, and each month I get a heartfelt thank you note. When I sent Blantina a package, Ida emailed a personal acknowledgement with photos of the happy recipient holding her items. Helping others through monetary donations does not get any better than this. I intend to sponsor Blantina until she is a successful graduate!
My wife and I are truly amazed at Angel Covers ability to help so many orphans around the world. Their Humble Hearts school in Kenya is a prime example of the ability to turn small donations into magnificent projects for the betterment of the children and the worl.ld
Angel Covers is my wife's and my favorite charity. Their minimal overhead means that the funds go directly where the need is greatest. Their work aiding orphans from around the world is incredible! Knowing the founder personally, I understand and truly appreciate her commitment to continuing this great charitable effort. Looking forward to going to Kenya some day to actually see the benefit that my donations have made! I am sure that pictures don't do it justice. David and Laureen
I have been involved with Angel Covers as both a volunteer and a sponsor for about 7 years now. I found this wonderful non profit when I was looking to donate some books and clothes that were no longer needed by our family. I knew from the first conversation I had with Kari, to the picture that arrived with the children receiving my items, that this was something special. The smiles on the childrens faces from receiving basic needs was just heartwarming. I also volunteer, so I see first hand the good that Angel Covers does to help children all over the world. I can not say enough good things about Angel Covers and the work they do! They are truly making a difference.
I recently joined the Angel Covers Board of Directors. I was immediately impressed by the care and dedication the Director, Board Members, and volunteers put into their work. Overhead costs are held extremely low, making donations to Angel Covers highly effective at making positive change in the world.
I am so amazed at what Angel Covers is able to accomplish every year for their Charity. You can truly rest in the truth that when you give to this organization your donation will be used 100% and more to help provide for orphaned and destitute children around the world. Angel Covers staff and their mission is Top Rate and many thanks you to them for all they do for others.
“Angel Covers” started from a vision of two friends that wanted to provide nurturing help to disadvantaged children and to make a difference in the lives of children around the world and that seed of kindness has grown into an amazing non-profit organization that helps care for orphaned and destitute children around the world. It is so amazing to see what “Angel Covers” has done and continues to do for these Children with the donations to the organization. Thank you to “Angel Covers” for their belief that every child deserves access to quality medical care, education, nutrition and housing. They stand by that and continue to make that belief a reality for so many children.
I have volunteered with Angel Covers for several years in its education program because of its low overhead (3%), its commitment to continue to be run exclusively by volunteers, and its traditional and creative ways of helping children who are most in need. Low overhead means that more dollars go directly to support the children in its programs and projects. The self-sustaining projects have helped schools to support themselves by providing initial investments in things such as goji berry trees (the berries are harvested and sold, and the income is used to purchase food and electricity for the school) and yaks (improving nutrition at remote rural schools). The education programs facilitate the education of the most destitute children who would otherwise have no hope of going to school. I look forward to continuing my involvement with Angel Covers, as I believe in its mission and its ability to implement the best programs for children in need.
Angel Covers is an outstanding non profit that brings hope to so many. So many volunteer and Kari works tirelessly. The lives of many are greatly enhanced due to Angel Covers.
What is not to LOVE about this non profit foundation? With it's overhead of 3% or less, run by all volunteers, it brings hope to impoverished children throughout the world through education, shelter, nutrition, and medical help. The aim of this foundation is to help children in the short term as well as develop self sustaining projects and life changing skills. Since its inception in 2001, the board of exceptional professionals has directed donations and established programs for children in Africa, China, and Tibet as well as contributed needed supplies in many other regions of the world. I am proud to be both a volunteer and donor to the Angel Covers foundation.
I am a volunteer for another charity that also helps in China. Angel Covers is a great organization to support!! Check them out@Suzanne
My name is Beatrice Anunda director of Humble Hearts school Nairobi, Kenya. We have been partnering with Angel Covers since 2004 and have been able to move to greater heights with their support. We have been able to enroll deaf kids who because of cultural beliefs that deafness is curse had been rejected by their families, hearing children who due to poverty never had the hope of ever going to school, we have been able to build domitories where the children stay, we have classes, books and desks, we been able to broaden the child's understanding through educational trips all this and others like startup income generating activities poultry and farming have produced better results- improved health and nutrition, increased enrolment and build higher self esteem and less stigmatization amongst our children who are our future. We in Kenya recommend AC for its good work.
Angel Covers is a charity that is dedicated to bettering the lives of our youth. They help children all over the world, and in more ways than one. They provide medical care, hospitality, education and even a nutritious diet to the needy. Angel Covers instills a passion for achievement and encourages every child to shine. This creates a driving force in each child that allows them to forge their own paths as adults.
Angel Covers are always motivated to help and support the world orphans, especially Chinese orphans. I was very proud to connect between China orphanages and Angel Covers . Angel Covers did so many jobs for the orphans, such as perfect baby bouncers, very soft and comfortable baby blankets, useful baby daily stuff and other useful equipments to improve orphanages' conditions. Angel Covers always makes their donation actions rapidly . I should always say, Angel Covers, Angel Covers' idea, Kari and Lynn, I do appreciate you did/do/doing everything for the orphans. You are so awesome!!!
As a board member for Angel Covers, I can attest to the wonderful work that AC does for children around the world. Being a completely volunteer run organization, each person is driven the mission and the work. We could not have a more dedicated Executive Director who works to drive the goals of the organization & a board that is committed to continuing to support and improve AC's operations. Few international organizations allow donors & volunteers to see the work of the organization firsthand (i.e. trips to Kenya & China).
Angel Covers is a wonderful organization that I am extremely proud to be a part of
Angel Covers is an amazing non-profit. It has always operated on a staff comprised 100% of volunteers, which allows for all money donated to go directly to the children being served. I know Kari, the executive director, and see how she tirelessly works to make sure the programs are running smoothly. She started small, making fleece blankets to send to babies in orphanages in China. Now, Angel Covers helps children in need in several continents, in a variety of programs. My family has sponsored a student in the Humble Hearts program in Kenya since the beginning. When we first started sponsoring her, she was recently orphaned, homeless, and had been taken in by the school for deaf children that had just started. Since that time, I have seen how she has grown, done well in school, and is looking at higher education. We have enjoyed hearing from her, receiving photos. As she moves on, we will sponsor a new student in the program.
Angel Covers does not barrage people constantly for money. On occasion, when a crisis occurs somewhere where a program is located, the word goes out that extra help is needed. People from all over the world come together to help.
I have also volunteered for Angel Covers for several years. I have had several different roles, and currently send out thank you notes to sponsors and those who make purchases online. Angel Covers truly values those who contribute and we really try to make sure thanks are given for each and every donation. I write to donors in many countries; the success of Angel Covers is a global effort.
Angel Covers is an excellent non-profit who help kids all around the world. As a youth volunteer, I was lucky enough to take a trip down to Kenya where they have several programs and I can only say one thing...what they are doing is great.
Angel Covers is doing a great job! They are very friendly and helpful and with a minumum of costs they achieve a lot. If you care about underpriveliged children, you should care about Angel Covers!
Angel Covers is so faithful to keep its donors and volunteers frequently updated thru photos, blogs, and Face Book. When a project is under way, photos are posted as progress is made. I really appreciate that Angel Covers regularly visits the schools and orphans it supports. It assures that the funds and items I contribute are used as promised. I also like the fact when I send items to a child a photo of the child with the items is sent. There are not too many organizations that accomplishes what Angel Covers does with a total volunteer staff.
