Mission: The Andre' Bosse Center was founded as a direct result of the 1997 abduction, rape, and murder of 11 year old Andre Bosse. The Center is dedicated to Andre's memory and is her legacy. Andre lives on through the children saved through the Center's many programs. Our mission statement is: The Andre' Bosse Center seeks to prevent and eliminate child abuse and neglect by increasing coordination of services, building community awareness, and providing innovative treatment, education, and advocacy. The Center provides a safe place for abused and neglected children to be while going through the difficult process of disclosure and healing. With bright, cartoon walls, stuffed animals and appropriate toys, the Center is viewed by children as a comfortable and safe place where they can be safe after being abused or similarly victimized. The Center focuses on 5 objectives. 1. Education/Prevention - Educate the community on the cycle of abuse and its prevention. 2. Intervention - Link identified children and families to appropriate services. 3. Identification - Educate child caring professionals on how to recognize signs of child abuse and provide investigative services. 4. Networking/Partnerships - Coordinate and collaborate with appropriate agencies. 5. Generate Community Awareness, Commitment, Passion, Motivation and Action - Recruit and inspire volunteers to invest in the mission with time, money, or resources.
