I first learned about Anchor of Hope a couple of years ago and began volunteering at Parent's Night Out and the Autism Awareness Festival. What I witnessed during that first year birthed in me a passion to be as involved as possible with this great ministry. Families of special needs individuals are so blessed as they receive funds, counseling, allies, friendships and prayer partners to join with them on the sometimes difficult journey they have of caring for their loved one. Individuals, both young and not-so-young are incredibly blessed as they are welcomed into an environment of respect and genuine love. The community receives so much benefit by having this resource right in their back yard. I can't say enough good things about the founders, Steve and Debbie Harbin, the Executive Director, Juli Reynolds, my fellow board members and the beyond amazing volunteers that give so much of their time and energy. Anchor of Hope is growing. As of today, we have awarded over 53 scholarships in the amount of $250 this year. I pray more people catch the vision and join as partners with the beautiful work Anchor of Hope is doing. It has been such a blessing to me and my family. My husband and I tell people: we are involved not because we have a special needs child, but because we don't. We don't want to take our blessings for granted. We want to give back and let other parents with special needs children know that they have our love and support. It is joy to serve and in doing so, to be served and blessed by the lives of special needs individuals and their families.
The lives of countless parents and their children who have Disabilities appreciate the volunteers who sacrifice only 3 hours every first Friday in each month, to bring endless Joy! Everyone receives a Blessing
God tells us in the Bible that when you serve the least of these people, you are serving Him! Make a difference & Volunteer Today!
