Mission: The philosophy at the ACCC is based on standards set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The program is built on developmentally appropriate practices. All of our classrooms are "child-oriented" rather than "teacher-oriented." The environment allows the child the opportunity to make choices and decisions concerning his/her actions. The teachers and assistants interact with the children by encouraging creative thought and assisting the child in developing his/her own problem solving strategies. The teachers prepare an environment that meets the child's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs that enable the child to develop positive self concepts, the ability to get along well with others, and a joy of learning.
Programs: The Center is open from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and serves children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. The facilities are available for civil servant, government, and contractor personnel based or working at Moffett Field, CAand the general public. Up to 92 children can be accommodated. Fundraising supports tuition assistance for qualified families and enhances special programs such as science materials and music sessions.
