Mission: The american swedish historical museum welcomes all people to explore cultural identity through the story of swedes and scandinavians in america. The ashm is a community dedicated to preserving and interpreting material culture, and is alive with celebrations, exhibitions, and learning experiences.
Programs: Curatorial and exhibitions: preserved and displayed the oldest collection of art and artifacts which represent the contributions of swedes and other scandinavians in america. Presented exhibitions which were viewed by over 13,000 visitors.
educational programs: presented 38 public programs and events which interpret scandinavian and scandinavian american history, culture, science, music and art. Presented a conference about the delaware river and its importance to the new sweden colony. Taught swedish language classes. Offered school and library programs , serving nearly 2,000 students.
