The AVC was very well organized and supportive of the efforts to recognize and support WW II Vets to current Iraq/Afg vets for their service to our country. I was present at the very patriotic Memorial Day parade, the interaction of all the people there waving and applauding the active duty troops and veterans,- was very moving. We all appreciate the difference they make each year.

In addition to enjoying the terrific 2011 National Veteran's Parade, I had the privilege of being a volunteer transportation host for Parade Honorees ... thereby meeting amazing HEROES and their families. It was such an honor to personally THANK not just the decorated Soldiers, but their wives, children and grandchildren. Chatting with the grandchildren was so rewarding because they will long remember and repeat the memory of their "Grandpa" as the American Patriot "ROCK STAR"... that he is. Clearly, the lives of our American VET's matter ... because they played a significant part in saving the world from tyranny and evil. The entire Parade event was a magical experience that impacted my life in ways words cannot express. I strongly recommend this motivational event where Americans can see the "living" Patriots of our times honored infront of monuments of past Patriots.

I was extremely honored to be a volunteer for the National Memorial Day Parade. As a retired law enforcement officer, I deeply appreciate any opportunity to celebrate our nation's heroes. It is equally important to honor the organization and individuals that sponsored and put on this event. Without their sponsorship, we would not be able to recognize our brave men and women in the military. Thanks to everyone behind the scenes and in front of the cameras for their obvious commitment to excellence. I had the honor to drive Medal of Honor Recipients from their hotel to the parade site. They were so appreciative of everything that this organization did. We talked about how this helped mend some wounds for the Vietnam era veterans who didn't get the welcome home that other veterans received. What a testament to how much this organization acres about our country. Thank You!

When you work with the American Veterans Center, you are directly celebrating and supporting the amazing men and women who courageously served our country. To be honest, I wasn't looking to volunteer for this organization until I went to one of their events, the Wounded Warrior Experience. This organization did many things that exceed my expectations. 1) AVC organized a first class event that prioritized what matters: our vets. It isn't about the center, it's about the men and women who sacrificed for our freedom. The vets are treated like the ROCKSTARS they are. 2) AVC has a laser-like focus on educating Americans on the true stories of courage and sacrifice balanced with sharing the needs of our vets. I've never been more educated, more moved about our Vets. The AVC has passion that is clear to see... and I wanted to be a part of their cause. Since the event, I've had the pleasure in volunteering for the organization in other events... most recently the National Memorial Day Parade. This parade, at our nation's capital, is THE premier event to honor our heroes. Being behind the scenes I get the pleasure of seeing the AVC team crew comb over every detail with respect for our vets and pushing to continue to educate Americans. Every year, they manage to get more participants, more spectators... and this year more coverage on national TV. My Grandpa (WWII Vet) was able to watch the parade at home (Cincinnati, OH) this year... and teared up as he told me how happy he was to have such a great event in the nation's capital to honor his fallen friends. Bottom line, this organization is a pleasure to work with as they live the lessons learn from the vets they honor every day. They act with integrity. They work until the job is done. They focus on doing what's right, not necessarily what's easy. They love our country and are passionate about our vets. When I work with AVC, I feel as though I'm making a contribution, no matter how small, to our country and the men and women who helped make it so great!
